Hi, I’m Finley! I’m a Student doing a degree in Physics with Theoretical Physics at the university of Bath! I’m eager to share my passion for maths and help you along your journey wherever it may take you 😁. I love the outdoors, especially camping and hiking! I attended Christopher Whitehead Language college for both high school and sixth form, for A levels I did Maths, Further Maths and Physics. In which I achieved A*AB respectively. I am currently doing a masters degree in Physics with Theoretical Physics at the University of Bath.

I have been tutoring with GoStudent for almost a year now, having formerly worked at museums, churches and summer camps. I enjoy working with children and am a current Sunday-School teacher and former volunteer with several youth charities. I also have two years of classroom experience with Years 2 and 3, but am happy to work with children of any age, teaching English, Maths, History, Latin, and RE. Please note I do not take adult learners at this time. I am a graduate of the University of Cambridge with a first-class degree in History, also having taken papers in Classics and Theology. I won several prizes during my degree, including three prize scholarships and the Roy Porter Prize for History in my second year. Prior to my degree, I took three A-Levels in History, Maths and English, receiving all A*s, and prior to that, ten GCSEs, receiving all 9s.

I am an experienced maths tutor based in Glasgow. I received my maths degree from the University of Glasgow and have tutored and range of age groups from primary school age, through to high school and also undergraduate. I am passionate about learning and believe that learning is about enjoyment and practicality. I enjoy helping people succeed and ultimately seeing people become more confident within themselves. I have a honours degree in Mathematics and Economics from the University of Glasgow with a particular specialisation in applied mathematics and am currently working towards my second degree in Spanish and Latin American Studies from the University of Stirling.

As a medical student, I am also able to offer specialist support for students aspiring to study medicine. This includes UCAT preparation, structured interview coaching, and expert guidance through the medical school application process. Having gone through this competitive pathway myself, I know exactly what admissions tutors are looking for and how to help students stand out. I take pride in delivering sessions that are engaging, focused, and results-driven, with clear improvement in both confidence and academic performance. I have a strong and consistent academic track record, underpinned by both achievement and a deep understanding of what it takes to succeed in competitive exams. I achieved 6 A* grades at GCSE, demonstrating early excellence across a wide range of subjects and a strong work ethic from the outset of my academic journey. At A-Level, I studied Mathematics, Biology, and Chemistry, achieving high grades in all three. These subjects not only required strong analytical and problem-solving skills, but also the ability to apply knowledge under exam pressure—skills I now actively pass on to my students to help them improve their own performance and confidence. Alongside my A-Levels, I completed an Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) on antibiotic resistance, an area of real scientific relevance. This independent research project developed my ability to think critically, evaluate complex information, and communicate ideas in a clear, structured way—skills that are essential for academic success and effective exam technique. I am currently a medical student, a highly competitive course that reflects both my academic ability and commitment to excellence. Studying medicine has further strengthened my understanding of science at a deeper level, while also training me to break down complex topics into simple, logical steps—an approach I use directly in my tutoring to help students understand, retain, and apply what they learn with confidence.
