Hi there! My name is Eve and I am currently a university student who loves learning, meeting new people and helping others. I’d describe myself as a fun and friendly person who’s always ready to laugh and I am here to make studying feel more enjoyable. I know that learning can feel intimidating or challenging, but I believe it’s all about finding the approach that works best for you. I’ve always been passionate about sport and the outdoors. Whether it’s playing football, skiing or going for a walk in nature, being active helps me stay positive, focused and motivated. I try to bring that same energy into tutoring — encouraging students to stay determined, celebrate progress, and see that every small step counts. When I’m not tutoring or being active, I love to listen to music, watching a good series and spending time with friends. I’m a big believer in work-life balance — working hard but also prioritising enjoying life and rest. As a tutor, I aim to create a calm and supportive learning environment where students feel confident to ask questions, make mistakes and learn at their own pace. I have always been passionate about learning and challenging myself academically. I have a strong academic background, having achieved 11 GCSEs and three A-levels in Biology, Geography, and Physical Education. These subjects allowed me to develop a deep understanding of how the human body functions, how we interact with the environment and the importance of health and well being — areas that continue to inspire me in day-to-day life. My A-levels built a strong foundation in scientific thinking, analysis and problem-solving, all of which I continue to apply in my current studies. I am now studying Sport Rehabilitation at university, a course that combines my love for sport, science and helping others. It has given me valuable insights into human anatomy, injury prevention and rehabilitation techniques, as well as how physical activity supports both physical and mental health. Through my degree, I’ve learned not only the theory behind human biology and movement but also how to apply this knowledge in practical, real-world situations. My academic journey has taught me the importance of perseverance, curiosity, and maintaining a positive attitude toward learning. I’m proud of the progress I’ve made so far and I am excited to keep building on my knowledge. I can vary how the material is delivered according to the situation and what works for you. I will teach and do lecture notes where appropriate, or take a more "coaching" style if that suits you and the situation better. We can even do more seminar/discussion style lessons as you become more comfortable with the material. Psychology is a little different to other subjects covered at A-Level - not only do students have to learn a lot of information and produce it under exam conditions, but there is also a need to analyze and evaluate what has been learned so that they can write clearly, concisely and insightfully about that information. As well as teaching the syllabus content, I can help improve a student's thinking and writing skills so that they can go into exams with more confidence. I have also developed my coaching skills so work with students to help them improve their own problem-solving capabilities so that they can identify how they can study more effectively. A bit about me: I'm a PhD-qualified tutor who, over the course of my career, spent time working as a researcher, consultant and analyst across different industries. In all of those other roles, the part I enjoyed most was training, teaching and coaching people, so I am working towards making that my full-time career. Working in industry has taught me the importance of always turning up prepared and ready to work, using clear, prompt and honest communication and making sure that whoever I am working with knows that I am working in their best interests. The same will apply when we work together. In my spare time I love to play football and follow a lot of sport. I am learning to play guitar (very slowly) and enjoy listening to music, going to gigs when the opportunity arises.
