Hi! I’m Mehmood,20 years old and currently studying medicine (MBBS) at Hull York Medical School. While I absolutely love studying, I have many other passions that burn just as brightly — I’m into sports, gym, and cycling, and I’m always open to trying new ones! Some cool facts about me: I speak English, Pashto and Urdu. Also, I have a 4-year-old ta I attended St. Peter's RC High School in Gorton, where I studied separate sciences, business, geography, religious studies, and core subjects, achieving 6 grade 9s and 3 grade 8s. I then studied biology, psychology, and chemistry at Loreto Sixth Form College, earning A*AB in my A-levels. During my medical school application, I achieved a UCAT score of 2750 Band 1, securing four medical school interviews and ultimately firming Hull York Medical School—where I am currently studying medicine (MBBS). Alongside my academic journey, I’ve been a private tutor for the past two years, helping students build confidence and achieve top grades in science and math. I also completed a 3-week teaching internship at COOP Academy, delivering science lessons to Year 8 and 9 students. Additionally, I’ve gained valuable clinical experience working in GP practices and hospital settings, consulting with patients and developing strong communication and empathy skills. My educational background reflects a strong foundation in science and a passion for teaching. I’m excited to share the strategies and insights that helped me succeed and to support students in reaching their full academic potential.

Hi my name is Gabriel. I am a 28 year old 11+ tutor. I love helping students prepare for their 11+ entrance exams. I have a degree in English from Rhodes University. I have a passion for teaching and for helping others grow. I have experience with helping students prepare for the GL Assessment 11+ test as well as others such as the Sutton Boys 11+ test. In 2018 I enrolled in a Bachelor of the Arts at Rhodes University in my home country of South Africa. Rhodes University has the best Humanities Faculty and the best English Department in the country and so it was a natural choice for me as I intended to study English Literature. I completed my triple major Bachelor's in English Literature, History and Philosophy in 2020.

Hello! My name is Ria, and I am a Chemical Engineering graduate with Honours from the University of KwaZulu-Natal, where I completed my degree in November 2025. I am passionate about education and enjoy helping students build confidence in their abilities. While I primarily tutor Mathematics, I can also assist with Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. I am comfortable teaching learners from Grade R through Grade 12, although I particularly enjoy working with younger students between the ages of 6 and 12, as this is such an important stage for building strong academic foundations. Throughout my academic journey, I have informally tutored family members, friends, and classmates from high school through to university level. These experiences taught me that every student learns differently, which is why I tailor my teaching style to suit each individual learner. I strive to create a calm, patient, supportive, and encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes as they learn. My goal as a tutor is not only to improve grades but also to help students develop confidence, curiosity, and a positive attitude towards learning. I believe that when students understand concepts clearly and feel supported, they are capable of achieving far more than they may initially believe. During my time at university, I also worked on a biogas research project in a laboratory setting, where I gained valuable problem-solving and analytical skills. I enjoy sharing real-world examples from science and engineering to make learning more engaging and relatable for students. Outside of academics, I enjoy reading, running, and spending time at the beach. I look forward to helping students grow in confidence, strengthen their understanding, and build the skills they need to achieve their goals and dreams. My academic journey has been shaped by a strong passion for mathematics, science, and problem-solving. I graduated with a Chemical Engineering degree with Honours from the University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN) in South Africa in November 2025. Throughout my studies, I developed a solid foundation in mathematics, physics, chemistry, process engineering, and analytical thinking, while also learning how to approach complex problems in a logical and structured manner. Chemical engineering is a challenging and multidisciplinary field that combines scientific principles with practical problem-solving to design and improve industrial processes. During my degree, I studied a wide range of subjects, including advanced mathematics, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, heat and mass transfer, reaction engineering, process control, and process design. These subjects strengthened both my technical knowledge and my ability to communicate complex concepts clearly and effectively. One of the most rewarding aspects of my academic career was participating in research and design projects. I worked on a biogas enrichment research project that focused on improving the methane content of biogas through water scrubbing techniques. This project involved laboratory work, experimental design, data analysis, and technical presentations. Through this experience, I developed strong analytical, research, and communication skills while gaining hands-on laboratory experience. In addition, I completed several engineering design projects involving distillation design, reactor design, process simulation, process optimisation, and process control. These projects required the use of engineering software and the application of theoretical knowledge to real-world engineering challenges. They also strengthened my teamwork, problem-solving, and project management abilities. Throughout my academic journey, I have regularly assisted family members, friends, and classmates with their studies, ranging from school-level mathematics and science to university-level engineering concepts. These experiences helped me develop a patient and adaptable teaching style and reinforced my passion for education. My academic background has equipped me with not only strong technical knowledge but also the ability to explain concepts in a clear, engaging, and accessible way. I am passionate about helping students build confidence in their abilities, develop strong foundations in their subjects, and achieve their academic goals.

I have just started university and I am eager to help my students in a supportive way with a dynamic based on mutual respect. Outside of my studies I love to watch football, go on hikes in the South Downs and read the financial times, as I am of course interested in any developments in markets. I went to Sackville School, East Grinstead and completed 12 GCSE's and one level 2 certificate in Further Maths, all at grade 7 and above. I then progressed to my A-Levels, achieving A*AAA in Maths, Further Maths, Economics and Physics. During my time I also gained a Gold Certificate in the Senior Maths Challenge and participated in the Senior Maths Kangaroo, whilst also participating in the FCDO Next generation Economics essay competition.
