Meine Muttersprache ist Englisch und ich studiere Philosophie in England. Ich unterrichte Englisch mit dem Ziel, die Sprache praxisnah zu vermitteln und dabei die Ausdrucksfähigkeit meiner Schüler*innen gezielt zu verbessern. Ich freue mich darauf, mit dir zu arbeiten! Ich habe meine GCSEs an der Westlands School und meine A-Levels an der Highsted Grammar School in Sittingbourne absolviert. In meinen GCSEs erhielt ich unter anderem die Note 9 in Englisch, Französisch und Geschichte sowie eine 8 in Mathematik. In meinen A-Levels erzielte ich ein A* in Englisch Literatur sowie As in Soziologie, Geschichte und Filmwissenschaft. Zurzeit studiere ich Philosophie (B.A.) an der University of Manchester. Ich spezialisiere mich besonders auf Geisteswissenschaften und Sprachen. Ich finde es faszinierend, wie Sprache unsere Gedanken beeinflusst. Dieses Interesse bringe ich mit Begeisterung in meinen Unterricht ein.

I'm literally so overjoyed to have had the amazing opportunity to join GoStudent as a tutor back in April 2023 and I just wanted to elaborate further on my academic and in addition extracurricular skills which have equipped me greatly to be able to shine a light on my own capabilities as well as my weaknesses at this time! I think that I have developed my communication skills via group work with the rest of the tutors and programme coordinators and also have had the privilege to really just go into further detail about what actually makes me tick and I really appreciate how supportive everyone has been in terms of my development and progress thus far. But how about he excitement of sharing a wonderful session with my tutees? We usually discuss the relevance of outside-of-the-box thinking and how phenomenal it is when the student and their loved ones get to choose what will happen during the lesson itself and also set the standards regarding the content to be covered so the sessions are usually quite fun and engaging to be honest! :-) I really enjoyed my time at the UCL School of Pharmacy while studying for the MPharm degree and I am just waiting to be able to sit some deferred final year exams and graduate hopefully quite soon following a recent gap year actually. I did graduate with a first in MSci in Pharmaceutical Studies back in October 2022. Now I am just in the process of applying for medical school and tend to spend my free time on either reading novels, playing the keyboard or making artsy-craftsy notes which will hopefully contribute towards a revision blog that I am starting to establish. I also like going for walks and exploring all sorts of new exciting places within London. I did of course go to Exeter medical school back in 2017 and left (for personal reasons such as the PBL structure of the course) before joining UCL in 2018. This means I am quite agile when it comes to things like discussing interview techniques and CV requirements if needed for individual students. I also tend to motivate my tutees to stay and CONTINUE with what they are doing rather than back away, especially in the face of challenges! This is because I myself wish I hadn't left medicine and now am re-applying so it indicates my perseverence and understanding of the new and surprising aspects of the course! ;)

Hello, I teach English Literature and Sociology, both at GCSE and A Level. My name is Innes and I am currently in my third year of studying Sociology with Criminology, at York University. I am a positive and enthusiastic individual, who is dedicated to making learning fun and interactive. I will tailor each lesson to the individual's personal academic goals. I am patient and understanding and want to motivate each student to engage positively with our lessons. I have four A levels in Sociology, Philosophy and Ethics, History and English Literature. I am currently in my third year of my Undergraduate Degree at York University. I have GCSE's in English Language, English Literature, Religious Studies, Graphic Design, Geography, History, Maths, Science and Finance. I taught myself A level Sociology which required determination and resilience. I hope to instil confidence to my students and help grow their independent learning skills.

My name is Dmitri Yendrzheyevskiy. Nice to meet you :) I am an upcoming third-year student studying economics with German. I studied French, German, Russian and English at A level. I love learning languages, speaking both Russian and English natively. Having grown up speaking Russian at home, I have always felt passionate for learning and improving languages; for example, I'm currently learning Chinese and am considering learning Italian and Japanese in the future :D Generally, my sessions depend on whom I am working with. For beginners of French and German, I begin by following the GCSE AQA textbook, where I help teach the skills necessary to learn more independently. The textbook begins with more general stuff like basic grammar, and then branches off into specific topics, such as talking about yourself. I encourage the student to talk as much German and French as possible, helping them to develop a native accent. To maintain and strengthen my languages, I personally dedicate time every day to honing my language skills through listening to films and books of the respective language. In Maths, if I am teaching someone who is a beginner, I will first try to get to know what works for the student, and then using games to encourage younger learners to learn specific parts of maths. For GCSE students, I will follow the specification, skipping over the parts which the student knows well. To determine their general knowledge, I will start by giving a basic test of each successive section, and spend more time on the sections the student does more poorly in. For GCSE and A level students for all of my subjects, I will work with the student in establishing areas of weakness in their GCSEs, and understand their general level and which level they are working at. I will show what examiners want, and how exactly to reach the higher bands to get the highest marks. I am always updating myself on the latest news from AQA to always be familiar with the exact exam structure. I am familiar with most of the A level texts for both French and German, and I am reading through the English A level and GCSE texts. For Russian, I will work through a textbook with the student. I will constantly provide support with pronunciation and determine based on their goals what they want to do; whether they want to learn how to read and write cursive, or simply read and send messages in text form (as the written and typed language looks different). I am very familiar with both GCSE and A level Russian, and know the texts and films. I set homework every week, and check back on it on the next lesson. Depending on the time of month, I am happy to let the student decide which areas they are weakest in, and then work with them on those areas, be those listening, or writing, or a specific part of GCSE that they don't understand. I am proactive in providing the best experience for all of my students, and I am passionate about the work that I do. I have tutored for over a year and the experience has benefitted me in many ways. I'd like to provide a positive experience for all of my students regardless of age. I am patient and understanding and will take the time to help all of my students.
