Hello! Thank you for reading my profile, I'm Abbie, a postgrad student in Japanese and Chinese translation. I am passionate about teaching and motivating my students to branch out from topics typical at school. My key aims in all lessons are to make steps towards building students' confidence in the desired subject and building upon academic skills to feel prepared for exams or tests. I strive to ensure my students enjoy each lesson, feel safe in my lesson space and feel comfortable asking and discussing anything about the subject. I plan my lessons to fit each student's style of learning and interests for example studying the history of manga in Japanese lessons or diving into the world of gothic literature in English lessons - there is something for everyone! I can help with exam preparation and practice and provide extra support/materials for personal study. Subjects I teach (up to GCSE): English Language and Literature, English as a Second Language, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and Welsh I have been tutoring for over 3 years now, both abroad and in the UK. I have experience working with students of all ages and with different abilities (including language abilities). I have N3 proficiency in Japanese and high proficiency in Mandarin Chinese (traditional and simplified).

Passionate about chemistry and helping students achieve their potential and beyond. I am a young teacher, with a vast knowledge of chemistry at the KS3, KS4, and KS5 level. This is evidenced by my A grade at both GCSE, and A level. I place a large emphasis on breaking critical concepts down, ensuring students have a sound understanding of foundational aspects of chemistry- which will then allow them to tackle more difficult subject topics. All of my teaching is relevant to the exam board in question, and there is also a large focus on exam technique to ensure you're hitting those top marks! In terms of my hobbies, I love going to the gym, playing sports such as badminton and kickboxing, reading, and playing Call of Duty. Growing up in a part of Ireland rich in natural beauty, I developed a passion for hiking and camping, along with music on the Uillean pipes, Violin and piano. I enjoy language learning: specifically Spanish and Russian. Naturally, my main focus is Physics, which provides a constant challenge with every strange concept introduced I attended St. Michaels College, Enniskillen for my GCSE's, of which I obtained 8 A*s and 1 A, before switching to Enniskillen Royal Grammar School in order to pursue Further Maths. Here I obtained an A*A*A* grade in Maths, Physics, and Further Maths. I’m currently studying a Physics degree at the University of Edinburgh

Hi! I’m Mehmood, 19 years old and currently studying medicine (MBBS) at Hull York Medical School. While I absolutely love studying, I have many other passions that burn just as brightly — I’m into sports, gym, and cycling, and I’m always open to trying new ones! Some cool facts about me: I speak English, Pashto and Urdu. Also, I have a 4-year-old tabby cat called Misty, and I’m one of six siblings! I’d describe myself as calm, composed, and confident—and I’m excited to share my tips and tricks to help others rise to the top of their academics. I attended St. Peter's RC High School in Gorton, where I studied separate sciences, business, geography, religious studies, and core subjects, achieving 6 grade 9s and 3 grade 8s. I then studied biology, psychology, and chemistry at Loreto Sixth Form College, earning A*AB in my A-levels. During my medical school application, I achieved a UCAT score of 2750 Band 1, securing four medical school interviews and ultimately firming Hull York Medical School—where I am currently studying medicine (MBBS). Alongside my academic journey, I’ve been a private tutor for the past two years, helping students build confidence and achieve top grades in science and math. I also completed a 3-week teaching internship at COOP Academy, delivering science lessons to Year 8 and 9 students. Additionally, I’ve gained valuable clinical experience working in GP practices and hospital settings, consulting with patients and developing strong communication and empathy skills. My educational background reflects a strong foundation in science and a passion for teaching. I’m excited to share the strategies and insights that helped me succeed and to support students in reaching their full academic potential.
