Growing up in a part of Ireland rich in natural beauty, I developed a passion for hiking and camping, along with music on the Uillean pipes, Violin and piano. I enjoy language learning: specifically Spanish and Russian. Naturally, my main focus is Physics, which provides a constant challenge with every strange concept introduced I attended St. Michaels College, Enniskillen for my GCSE's, of which I obtained 8 A*s and 1 A, before switching to Enniskillen Royal Grammar School in order to pursue Further Maths. Hi! I’m a second-year Geography student at the University of Birmingham with a genuine passion for helping students unlock their full potential. Although I was initially predicted CCD at A-level, I achieved AAB on results day, something I’m incredibly proud of. This experience has shaped the way I tutor. I understand what it feels like to doubt your ability, and more importantly, I know exactly how to turn things around. My goal is to help my students achieve the same transformation or even better! I have over a year of tutoring experience, and I truly find it one of the most rewarding things I do. Seeing students grow in confidence and improve their grades is why I love teaching. I'm Ben and have an MSci and BA in Natural Sciences from the University of Cambridge, where I specialised in Chemistry. I have always loved learning about the sciences as they are so applicable to the world around us. I believe that every student should have positive learning experiences in the sciences. I have over two years' experience in tutoring A-Level/GCSE Maths and Science. Furthermore, I have achieved an A* grade in every A-Level subject and a grade 9 in every GCSE subject that I offer. I have invaluable knowledge of exam board specifications, how to best prepare for upcoming examinations, and how to secure those top grades. I am friendly and patient in my approach and want to help each student reach their full potential, regardless of their academic background or the level they are currently working at. My background as a learning support assistant taught me how to break complex ideas into clear, manageable steps — especially for learners who struggle with confidence or anxiety around maths. I use interactive methods, games, and real-life examples to keep lessons fun and memorable. Above all, I believe progress starts with encouragement, and I aim to create lessons where students feel supported, proud of their effort, and inspired to keep improving. I studied Psychology at university, where I developed a strong understanding of how students learn and how confidence impacts performance. My studies helped me recognise that progress isn’t just about intelligence — it’s about mindset and approach. Before that, I achieved three A-Levels and gained hands-on experience working in schools as a learning support assistant, supporting students across maths, English, and general study skills. I’m now planning to continue my studies in Marketing and Business Management, combining my interest in psychology and communication with a passion for helping others grow and reach their potential. This mix of academic study and practical classroom experience has shaped my calm, supportive teaching style, helping me identify learning gaps quickly and adapt lessons to each student’s needs.
