I'm Ben and have an MSci and BA in Natural Sciences from the University of Cambridge, where I specialised in Chemistry. I have always loved learning about the sciences as they are so applicable to the world around us. I believe that every student should have positive learning experiences in the sciences. I have over two years' experience in tutoring A-Level/GCSE Maths and Science. Furthermore, I have achieved an A* grade in every A-Level subject and a grade 9 in every GCSE subject that I offer. I have invaluable knowledge of exam board specifications, how to best prepare for upcoming examinations, and how to secure those top grades. I am friendly and patient in my approach and want to help each student reach their full potential, regardless of their academic background or the level they are currently working at. I find it rewarding to help my students achieve their academic goals and see them progress to their next steps. I am very flexible in my tutoring style as I recognise every student takes a different approach to learning. Hi! I'm Favour, I have experience tutoring students who are studying English language and Literature for their GCSE's. As a tutor I aim to breakdown questions & lessons to go along with the students' pace. During lessons I use the students interest to channel their learning & I am patient to ensure they get the most of the time. For example I once used a students' sports interest to breakdown the structure question in the AQA language paper 1 question 3. What I love the most about tutoring (apart from spreading knowledge of course) is getting to know, learn and see students develop. When I find interest in something, I try to learn and teach myself as I have with dance and the Korean language. I have high expectations for myself and encourage my students to do the same for themselves. I am also told to have a very easy going personality so I have a great rapport with my students and they find me easy to communicate with and ask me questions. Alongside my A-Levels, I have completed an EPQ in which I earned a B. The question of my research was about meditation, its benefits, and whether it should be made obligatory in school settings. It included investigating, collecting, and summarising primary data and as well as an initiation to implement meditation in my school as part of the well-being program. It gave good results and also spread awareness of this very beneficial practice. Other than that, I have attended courses on leadership as well.
