Hi! I'm Izy, and I recently completed my degree in Applied Linguistics at the University of Warwick - BA Language, Culture and Communication. I previously tutored younger children at my high school, and have since taught ESL in Peru, Ecuador and Mexico. I thoroughly enjoy both teaching English as a second language, and tutoring English subjects in the UK. I completed A-Levels in History, English Language and Maths (A*A*A), and am hoping to work as a paediatric Speech and Language therapist, after completing my Masters. I am competent in AQA Exam Boards. At University I competed at an international level for music, and really enjoy reading and learning new languages in my free time! I am currently obtaining my 120-hour TEFL certificate, as well as my Level 2 Understanding Autism qualification. I attended a state school, receiving eight grade 9s, and two grade 8s at GCSE, and A*A*A at A-Level (History, English Language, Maths). I recently graduated from the University of Warwick with a 1st Class BA Hons in Language, Culture and Communication (Applied Linguistics), completing a dissertation in phonetics & phonology.

I am a results-oriented, dedicated, and enthusiastic individual with strong interpersonal skills who has maintained a positive attitude in all situations. I enjoy learning new things, taking on challenges, and finding practical solutions to problems. Whether working independently or as part of a team, I bring a strong sense of responsibility, attention to detail, and a genuine commitment to doing my best. My role of Head Girl at my past school, St John's College allowed me to improve my time management skills as I had to balance this role alongside my A Level examinations and UCAS deadlines. I've been a ballet dancer since the age of 4 and have completed my Grade 8 aswell as my Intermediate qualification. I've also completed my RAD Assistant Teacher Training course which helped my organisational skills and highlights my dedication to teaching others. I want to teach because I enjoy helping others understand topics they once found difficult and seeing their confidence grow. Maths can feel intimidating, and I find it rewarding to break concepts down in a clear, supportive way that makes learning feel achievable. Teaching allows me to share my knowledge while making a positive, practical difference to students’ academic journeys. I have completed my GCSEs, A - Levels and Bachelor's degree with top grades and have experience teaching mathematics from primary to GCSE level. My approach is all about building the confidence of my pupils. I focus on exam preparation in every lesson so the student understands what to expect in the real exams as well as dedicating sessions to tackle worded problems and showing the best techniques to solve them. At GCSE level, I earned high grades including an 8 in Mathematics. My academic background has equipped me with a strong specialisation in quantitative analysis, applied mathematics, and statistical methods, skills that directly support my ability to teach mathematical concepts clearly and effectively.
