Hi, I’m Kris, a dedicated Mathematics and English educator with over seven years of experience making complex concepts engaging and accessible. I aim to foster curiosity and confidence through interactive lessons and real-world applications. As a PhD student in Educational Management, I continuously explore innovative teaching strategies to enhance learning. I hold a Master’s in Mathematics Education and am pursuing a PhD in Educational Management. With 7+ years of experience teaching Math and English from junior high to college, I use interactive, real-world strategies to engage students. I also research education and innovative teaching methods.

After 20 years of secondary school classroom teaching in English and History, I am branching out into online teaching. I taught in London, at Walthamstow for my probationary year in 1991, and have since taught in South Africa, in the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands. I run Parkrun, grow and sell organic vegetables, and enjoy wilderness walking. After A Bachelor of Arts in History and English, at Wits University in Johannesburg in 1984, I did a postgraduate Higher Diploma in Education, in English and History. I then taught in London and South Africa for nine years, during which time I qualified with a Bachelor of Education in Applied Linguistics, from Wits University. In 1998, my family and I went to Vancouver, British Columbia, for me to study a Masters Degree in Theology. We returned to SA in 2002. In 2016, I graduated with a PhD in History, at the University of KwaZulu-Natal. I am currently enrolled for my TTA TEFL certificate, Level 5, to qualify and teach EFL, from April 2025.

Hi, I’m JJ, an experienced and passionate tutor who’s been helping students reach their academic goals since 2021. I specialize in guiding students through their 11+, GCSE, and A-level exams, tailoring lessons to fit their needs and ensuring they feel confident and well-prepared. My engineering background helps me break down tricky topics into simpler, more approachable concepts that my students can grasp. I also have a proven track record of working with students of all abilities, including those with learning difficulties like dyslexia, autism, and ADHD. I focus on making lessons engaging, supportive, and flexible, so every student can thrive. My goal isn’t just to help with exam prep, but to inspire a love for learning and help students build the confidence they need to succeed. The most rewarding part of tutoring for me?
