Before starting my degree, I completed my GCSEs with a strong focus on mathematics, then progressed through a Foundation Year in Computing, which built my skills in maths, logic, and problem-solving and prepared me for degree-level study.

Hello and welcome to my profile! My name is Joshua and I'm here to help your child master maths. I'm currently a 5th-year medical student with a passion for learning and teaching, and I'm actively working towards my ambition of becoming an Ophthalmologist, possibly practicing in the US. With over a year of tutoring experience, I have successfully completed almost 200 lessons with students of various ages and abilities, building a strong track record of helping them achieve their academic goals. Beyond maths, I also have valuable work experience helping primary school children with English as a second language improve their reading skills, which has further refined my patience and adaptability as an educator. My core teaching style is built on creating a relaxed and friendly environment. When I’m not studying or tutoring, I lead an active lifestyle. I enjoy playing football, squash, and table tennis weekly, and I go to the gym daily for weightlifting and cardio. This rigorous and supportive environment is where I built the strong foundation that allows me to excel in teaching today. I achieved fantastic results in my GCSEs, earning a clean sweep of top grades: Grade 8/A* in Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Maths, History, and Electronics. Grade 7/A in Spanish, Geography, English Literature, and English Language. This success continued into my A-Levels, where I secured an A* in Chemistry, an A in Biology, and a D3 (equivalent to an A) in History. Currently, I am navigating the exciting and challenging world of medicine as a 5th-year medical student at the Medical University of Sofia. My time in medical school—and my ambitious goal of becoming an Ophthalmologist—isn't just about science; it's about problem-solving, long-term focus, and breaking down complex information into manageable steps. I’m Joseph, a postgraduate Computing and Information Systems student at Queen Mary University of London with a background in Geography and Business. I specialise in helping students build confidence in Python programming, database management, and related areas. I take a supportive and structured approach, breaking down complex topics into simple steps so students can understand and apply them I am currently studying for a part-time MSc in Computing and Information Systems at Queen Mary University of London, where I am developing strong skills in programming, database management, and information systems. Prior to this, I completed a BA (Hons) in Geography with Business at the University of Nottingham, which gave me a solid foundation in analytical thinking, research, and data interpretation. This blend of technical and business-focused education allows me to support students with both computing subjects and broader problem-solving skills.

I recently graduated from Newcastle University with a Masters in Maths and Stats, and I’ve always enjoyed helping others with maths. Whether it’s supporting friends through GCSEs, A-Levels, or university work, or helping my younger brother prepare for his GCSEs, I love making tricky topics easier to understand. I completed my GCSEs at St Bede's Catholic High School in Ormskirk, my A-Levels at Runshaw College in Leyland, and completed my Masters in Maths and Stats at Newcastle University in which I achieved a first and was given an award for my fourth year research project. I am comfortable and experienced in GCSE maths, A-Level maths, and beyond.
