My name is Melissa. :) I tutor: -Any year of English/Scottish curriculum primary school. -Years 7-11 English curriculum high school. -S1-5 Scottish curriculum high school (including National 5 and Higher) I have been a tutor with GoStudent for two years, tutoring high school and primary school students. Previously, I was an assistant in a Pupil Support English class for a year. I assisted students in various ways, such as helping them to read, write and create stories. I received an award from my school for my work in Pupil Support. I tutored a National 5 pupil in my high school. I co-run a junior creative writing club so I have experience making creative writing engaging. I am the Classics Representative of my university book club, planning and running the weekly sessions. I enjoy reading and writing and have done most of my life. I also enjoy going on nature walks, spending time with friends and family, exploring new places (anything from bookshops to waterfalls to museums), and catching up on TV. I just finished my third year of university, studying English Studies. I received all unconditional offers. I achieved an A in National 5, Higher and Advanced Higher English. I have a 120+ hour TEFL qualification which allows me to teach English as a foreign language online, in this country, or abroad. This qualification included 50-hr TEFL, 30-hr Grammar & Language Awareness, 20-hr Video Observation, 10-hr Telephone Teaching and 10-hr Teaching Large Classes Courses. The telephone teaching section of the course covered online teaching such as making lessons engaging.

I teach Philosophy, Ethics, and Religious Studies up to GCSE level. I teach English to French students and can speak conversational French to aid this. I tutor students working towards their IELTS qualification. I have a Masters in Mental and Moral Science (Philosophy) from Trinity College, Dublin and am looking to further my formal education in the coming years aside from the countless MOOCs I've taken ranging from Opera to Counter-Terrorism classes. I enjoy Creative Writing and am always penning stories or poetry.
