Hello, my name is Alex. I am a first year student studying Economics at the University of Leeds. In my spare time, I like to play football, as well as go to the gym and go out with my friends. I also enjoy watching football, and I support Manchester United. I have tutored 6 different students over the past 2 years for GCSE maths, with a variety of skill levels, but all of them achieving their target grades or higher. I went to Sir John Lawes School for both secondary school and sixth form. I achieved 5 8s and 5 9s in my GCSEs and A* A* A at A level. I’m now studying Economics BSC at the University of Leeds. I have always been passionate for maths and it has been both my strongest and favourite subject throughout my entire school life. I won the KS3 maths award.

As an MPharm graduate currently completing my hospital training year, I bring a strong foundation in clinical reasoning and scientific analysis to my sessions. I began my academic journey at John Ruskin College, where I completed A levels in Chemistry and Biology, alongside GCSEs in English and Maths. I also earned a BTEC Extended Diploma in Applied Science and was awarded the Bronze Duke of Edinburgh for altruism. I’ve since graduated with an MPharm degree from the University of East Anglia and am currently completing my hospital training year as a trainee pharmacist. This clinical experience has strengthened my analytical thinking and deepened my understanding of scientific principles—skills I bring into every tutoring session. My approach centres on consolidating knowledge through exam-style questions, helping students apply concepts confidently and accurately. I'm a dedicated and patient tutor with a strong passion for helping students build confidence and achieve academic success. I have achieved high grades in both GCSEs and A-levels, and have worked with a range of students. Whether a student needs help preparing for exams, catching up in class, or wants to get ahead, I focus on creating a positive and supportive learning environment. My goal is to help students improve their grades while also inspiring curiosity and helping them form strategies for success. I have completed both my GCSEs and A-Levels in the UK, achieving strong results across a range of academic subjects. At GCSE level, I studied core subjects including English Language, English Literature, Mathematics, and the Sciences, along with Citizenship, Geography, French and RE, which gave me a well-rounded academic foundation. For A-Levels, I chose to pursue Biology, English Literature and Politics, which not only deepened my subject knowledge but also developed my analytical thinking and problem-solving skills. I am looking forward to studying law at university in October.

Languages: English and Spanish. I am a native Spanish and Dr in social anthropologist at the the University of Manchester. I teach Sociology and Media Studies at all Levels including GCSE, A-Level including IB curriculum and exam boards such as AQA, Edexcel, 11+ and Cambridge International. I also teach Spanish to adult students at different levels. My teaching philosophy is shaped by my academic background in anthropology and interest in how cultures influence the production of knowledge. I also have knowledge in film studies and skills in audio-visual production. I can support students in their academic and artistic creative process. In my teaching, I link the learning material and cultures to engage in communication with the students and contextualise what we are learning. Cycling, climbing and the love for animals are some of my main personal interests. I love travelling and I am currently living in Berlin.
