HAving delivered over 3500 private lessons, I’ve developed a unique program that addresses both the theoretical and practical aspects of language and literature studies. Over the past 4 years, I’ve helped more than 140 students achieve at least a grade 7 in their GCSEs. About Me Language is not just a tool for communication, it's rather a reflection of how we see ourselves, our world and culture. I am a PhD candidate who recently published a paper on sexism and gender bias to help promote social justice by teaching politically correct language. In light of my educational research I learned that each student has a unique mind and uses different techniques to learn. Hence, my responsibility entails guiding each individual to unlock their complete potential. In my free time you'll always find me in the gym, or on a football pitch. I was born in Cape Town, South Africa. I moved to Ireland when I was 12 years old. I love Maths and English, but I decided to study Science in college. I love reading classic novels, writing funny stories, and watching Korean dramas. I enjoy travelling, cooking Asian foods and making my friends laugh. I look forward to helping more students! I wrote my Junior and Leaving Certificate in Ireland. For my Leaving Certificate, I studied English (H), Maths (H), Biology (H), Chemistry (H), LCVP (Common), Accounting (H) and French (H). I obtained my BSc. in Analytical and Forensic Science with a Distinction at LYIT (now ATU). I also have a TEFL Certificate for teaching English.

Hi! I'm Olivia and I am a 4th year Mechanical Engineering student at the University of Strathclyde. I chose this degree as I'm passionate about Maths and Physics, taking both up to Advanced Higher level while at secondary school. I'm focused right now on tutoring up to GCSE level or equivalent. I have experience tutoring up to this level in both Maths and Physics through a programme led by my university. I also have experience working with younger children as a football coach to girls aged 5-9 at Queens Ladies and Girls Football Club. Outside of my studies I enjoy running, travelling and reading to name just a few interests. In terms of lessons, I tend to tailor each lesson and teaching method to each pupil. I mostly use worksheets to reinforce knowledge and build students' confidence in their chosen subject. I will also set quizzes prior to each lesson for the student to complete to allow me to understand how they have progressed since the last lesson. I am a 4th year Mechanical Engineering student at the University of Strathclyde. Since beginning my studies, I have developed my analytical and problem-solving skills studying subjects such as thermodynamics, programming, structural mechanics and dynamics to name but a few. I am a passionate educator dedicated to creating an engaging and supportive learning environment. I teach Mathematics lessons and my most favorite is Calculus, inspiring and empowering students to reach their full potential while continuously exploring innovative teaching strategies for professional growth. My goal is to make complex concepts accessible and to foster a lifelong love for learning, ensuring students build confidence in their abilities to tackle challenges both inside and outside the classroom. I hold a B.S. in Mathematics, a Post-Baccalaureate in Teacher Education major in Mathematics, and am pursuing an Master's in Education major in Mathematics. I’ve taught General Mathematics and Calculus, fostering student growth through engaging lessons, coaching for competitions, and innovative strategies.
