Hi! I'm Favour, I have experience tutoring students who are studying English language and Literature for their GCSE's. As a tutor I aim to breakdown questions & lessons to go along with the students' pace. During lessons I use the students interest to channel their learning & I am patient to ensure they get the most of the time. For example I once used a students' sports interest to breakdown the structure question in the AQA language paper 1 question 3. What I love the most about tutoring (apart from spreading knowledge of course) is getting to know, learn and see students develop. I love seeing wonderful personalities and interests come through, so I look forward to meeting you soon! Outside of tutoring, I am involved in marketing communications. In my spare time I like to watch movies, videos on dog grooming, skincare & perfumes, spend time with friends and bake (when I can). I teach senior high school mathematics at all levels, from foundational to advanced. With years of experience as a government tax specialist and roles as a system analyst, programmer, and statistician in IT, I transitioned to teaching, which has always been my passion. I began tutoring in college to support my expenses and discovered the rewarding challenge of working with a student with dyscalculia. Through tailored strategies and building strong rapport, she succeeded. My diverse background has made me resourceful and innovative, enhancing my effectiveness in both teaching and problem-solving. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from St. Scholastica’s College, Manila, where I completed challenging courses such as Calculus, Statistical Analysis, Number Theory, and Linear Algebra. I also pursued post-graduate studies in Mathematics Education at the Polytechnic University of the Philippines, focusing on educational strategies and child development, with research on learning disabilities. Although I couldn’t complete my thesis due to budget constraints, I am skilled in teaching all levels of mathematics, including Algebra, Trigonometry, Geometry, Statistics, and Business Mathematics.

I've always been passionate about language - starting from my early school days, where I would read thesauruses and Atlases memorising all the words and capital cities for pure entertainment! Now, I focus on helping students enjoy and remember what they learn, making every lesson both captivating and effective. With a degree in Media, Culture & Social Sciences from the University of the West of England and as a fully qualified TEFL teacher, I bring a rich blend of cultural insight and academic excellence to my English teaching. I’ve traveled extensively across China, South America, and Europe, which has deepened my understanding of diverse learning styles and cultural nuances. In addition to my educational background, I’m also a certified health coach, specialising in holistic healing and self-empowerment. My approach to teaching is holistic and student-centred, fostering a supportive environment where your child can thrive both academically and inter-personally. I have been a tutor for 2 years, specialising in Maths and English, but I am comfortable teaching a range of subjects. I am in my second year of university studying Law, which has given me many skills such as attention to detail and a strong work ethic. I transfer these qualities to tutoring, and my priority is helping students excel in their studies by providing effective and engaging lessons that tailor to each child's needs. I completed my GCSEs in The Abbey School and my A levels in Kendrick School, achieving results of a high standard that I was proud of.
