Hi! I’m Catherine Solomon, a passionate tutor who loves turning tricky concepts into those “aha!” moments. I teach Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Basic Science, Math, and English, and I enjoy breaking down complex topics into simple, easy-to-follow steps. My goal is to create a positive and supportive learning space where students feel comfortable, and where learning is both fun and rewarding. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, where I developed strong problem-solving skills and discovered my passion for teaching while working as a part-time tutor. I’ve taught subjects like Chemistry, Biology, Physics, Science, and Math, helping students better understand challenging concepts. Hi! My name is Princess Joy Granado, and I am a Licensed Professional Teacher with over four years of experience teaching English. I have had the opportunity to teach in both private and public schools, which allowed me to work with learners from diverse backgrounds and adapt my teaching strategies to meet their varied needs. I graduated Cum Laude with a degree in Bachelor of Secondary Education, major in English. My academic journey strengthened my mastery of the English language and further nurtured my passion for teaching. This achievement has shaped me into a dedicated, reflective, and effective educator. Currently, I teach English for Academic and Professional Purposes, Oral Communication in Context, and Practical Research 1 to Grade 11 students. Through these subjects, I help learners develop strong communication skills, academic writing competence, critical thinking, and research abilities that prepare them for higher education and professional environments. I graduated with a degree in Secondary Education, major in English, which provided me with a strong foundation in teaching methods, linguistics, and literature. I also hold a TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) certificate, which enhanced my ability to teach English to learners from diverse backgrounds and proficiency levels. I am a public school teacher with several years of teaching experience, currently handling Grade 11 students. I teach English for Academic and Professional Purposes, Oral Communication in Context, and Practical Research 1. Through these subjects, I help students develop strong communication skills, academic writing competence, critical thinking, and research abilities essential for higher education and future careers. I truly enjoy teaching English because it allows us to communicate with the world. In my class, I want you to feel comfortable, confident, and excited to learn. I believe learning should be fun and meaningful, so we will use activities, games, and real-life examples to make English easier to understand. I spent ten years living in Athens, Greece where I worked as a private tutor: teaching TEFL to a wide variety of people - from complete beginners to students wishing to take Cambridge Proficiency exams in order to access UK universities. I have a BA Hons degree in Modern Languages: English/French with a module in Classical Greek Language and Literature. I believe in stress-free lessons , and learning in a relaxed setting. As a tutor I am not there to add pressure, but to help take pressure off. In terms of hobbies, I love reading, writing stories, and watching Turkish TV dramas. I am also a huge tennis fan. Last, but not least, I enjoy all forms of sugar - especially cake! Aside from my degree, I am qualified to teach TEFL. I really enjoy working with those who don't have English as a first language. It's a thrill to help them improve their speaking and listening - as well as reading and writing skills. It's wonderful to see them grow in confidence when expressing themselves in English. Furthermore, I am qualified to do proofreading. This fits in well with teaching English. I also have a certificate in Counselling Skills.
