I achieved A* in Economics and A's in Biology and Chemistry in my recent A-levels. Unlike typical tutors, I've been in the student's shoes, balancing A-levels, a social life, and university applications. As a gap year student aspiring to study medicine, I'm here to guide you through this challenging journey. In Year 12, I faced initial struggles, earning E, D, and C grades in Economics, Chemistry, and Biology. But within 8 months, I transformed my grades in economics achieving one of the highest marks in the country. As a student I've overcome the same roadblocks, revision hardships, and academic pressures as you. Top grades require more than just content knowledge; they demand effective hard work. Luck plays a role, but it's essentially a mathematical probability principle. With strategic effort, you can tilt the odds in your favour, no matter what challenges come your way. My tutoring sessions are personalised to each student's needs. To ensure the most effective guidance, I ask students to provide specific instructions for our sessions. This way, I can tailor my approach . My tutoring philosophy is based on a series of books / research paper i have read on educational neurosciences of how to learn most effectively which i personally implemented thus i know work for the average student . I have tutored for over 1000 hours so far - testimonials available on request . I accommodate the students as much as possible . Spaces are available but they are limited Achieved A* , A , A in alevels in 2023 in Economics , Biology , Chemistry respectively. As a student I know the struggles of taking some of the hardest alevels and balancing the workload that comes with them , I also took GCSEs in 2021 and received 12 GSCES at 9-7 grades .

Since joining GoStudent back in April 2023, I’ve had the incredible privilege of tutoring for over two years — and what a journey it has been! In that time, I’ve not only grown as a teacher but also as a communicator, motivator, and lifelong learner. My lessons are anything but “one-size-fits-all.” Every session is designed to spark curiosity, encourage outside-the-box thinking, and make learning genuinely enjoyable. I love giving students (and their families) the chance to shape the direction of our lessons — because when learning feels personal, progress happens naturally. For me, the most rewarding part of tutoring is watching students go from “I can’t” to “I can.” Whether it’s tackling tricky topics, preparing for exams, or simply rediscovering a love for learning, I’m here to celebrate every step forward and keep that momentum going. I studied at the UCL School of Pharmacy, where I am currently preparing to sit my final MPharm exams following a recent gap period. In October 2022, I proudly graduated with a First-Class MSci in Pharmaceutical Studies, a course that challenged me academically while also sparking my curiosity for problem-solving and research. Beyond the textbooks, I’ve always believed that learning should be creative and enjoyable. That’s why you’ll often find me making colourful, artsy study notes (which are slowly turning into a revision blog!), or bringing a creative twist into my lessons to help tricky concepts click. My education hasn’t just been about exams and grades — it’s also taught me how to stay curious, resilient, and open-minded, and I try to pass that on to every student I work with.

Hi, I'm Leigh, and I have a strong background in Civil Engineering. I'm deeply passionate about this field because it beautifully combines creativity, problem-solving, and real-world applications to shape the world around us. But my love for learning doesn't stop there—I have a profound passion for teaching as well. I find immense joy in sharing knowledge, inspiring others, and helping them achieve their goals. Whether I'm explaining technical concepts or mentoring aspiring learners, teaching allows me to connect with people and make a positive impact in their lives. For me, learning should never feel like a chore. It's a journey of discovery, growth, and excitement. When learning is fun and engaging, it becomes more effective and meaningful. It's not just about absorbing information; it's about sparking curiosity, encouraging creativity, and building connections between what we learn and how we live. I hold a degree in Civil Engineering, and I am currently pursuing a course in Education. Transitioning into education has been a deliberate and meaningful decision for me. I have always been passionate about teaching Chemistry, Psychology, and Biology, and I have been tutoring these subjects for over a year. It has been incredibly rewarding to witness students grow in confidence and develop a genuine enjoyment for subjects they once found challenging. To see young people’s interest grow as they begin to learn sciences for the first time and to help them build a better understanding of this is very rewarding. My goal is to continue helping students improve their grades by making learning engaging and accessible. When a subject feels difficult, it can be discouraging to persevere, which is why I strive to create a supportive and enjoyable learning environment. As a tutor, I believe in adapting my teaching approach to each student’s unique needs, ensuring that they find the subject both approachable and interesting. I have achieved 10 GCSEs, in which I received: a Grade 9 in Chemistry, a Grade 8 in Physics, Food Preparation and Nutrition and Geography. 3 Grade 7’s in Biology, Maths and German and 3 Grade 6’s in English Literature, English Language and Religion, Psychology and Ethics. I have also achieved 3 A-levels and received: an A in Chemistry, an A in Psychology, and an A in Biology.
