I'm Ben and have an MSci and BA in Natural Sciences from the University of Cambridge, where I specialised in Chemistry. I have always loved learning about the sciences as they are so applicable to the world around us. I believe that every student should have positive learning experiences in the sciences. I have over two years' experience in tutoring A-Level/GCSE Maths and Science. Furthermore, I have achieved an A* grade in every A-Level subject and a grade 9 in every GCSE subject that I offer. I have invaluable knowledge of exam board specifications, how to best prepare for upcoming examinations, and how to secure those top grades. I am friendly and patient in my approach and want to help each student reach their full potential, regardless of their academic background or the level they are currently working at. Hi there. James here, from South Africa. I taught in London in Walthamstow for my probationary year in 1991, and then in Johannesburg and Kwazulu-Natal in South Africa for a total of 21 years. I have taught Cambridge A Level History and England and South Africa's English and History curricula. I am also a published researcher, poet, and author. I enjoy cross-country running. I like NETFLIX mystery series. I regularly get out wilderness walking and cross country swimming. Since February 2025, I tutor English and Religious Studies for GoStudent. I battled with learning difficulties at school. However, I did very well after school, because I knew that English opens doors. So, I set goals. Then I achieved a B.A (1985) and a B. Ed (1996) degree, at Wits University in Johannesburg. I did a Masters Degree in Theology (Regent College, Vancouver, B.C., 2001) and a PhD in Church History (University of KwaZulu-Natal, 2016). I believe education is a lifelong journey. We master English every day for the rest of our lives. So I'm still learning as I tutor GCSE students, A Level students, and juniors, to reach their highest goals.
