My academic journey has further evolved as I currently pursue a degree in Chemical Engineering as an undergraduate student.

Outside of teaching and studying, I’m someone who loves exploring the world in every sense. I love to travel, always looking for the next hidden city street, quiet coastal path, or mountain trail to wander. I love experiences that spark curiosity and offer new perspectives, which are some qualities I bring into my lessons, too. I’m also a keen reader and lifelong learner, with a love for books on psychology, inclusive education, and modern fiction. To stay active, I enjoy yoga and long walks, which help me recharge and stay mindful, and I’m always up for trying new creative outlets, whether that’s experimenting with photography, cooking dishes from around the world, or learning a new skill just for fun. Music is another big part of my life; I love discovering new artists and curating playlists for different moods and adventures. These interests not only keep life exciting but also influence the way I connect with students: by staying curious, open-minded, and passionate about learning in all its forms. Hello! I'm a tutor for GCSE Maths, Physics and Chemistry. Curiosity is so important to me - seizing opportunities wherever possible and always willing to try out a diverse and novel range of experiences. I also apply this mindset to the world of academia. I'm a strong believer that learning across disciplines teaches you one of the most important skills: understanding how someone else thinks. If you've had to deconstruct complicated concepts in a variety of subjects you quickly become adept at understanding where a person is getting stuck. I meet you where you're at. No skipping forward. We identify the gaps. Fill those gaps properly. And build from there. There are very few students who lack ability, they've just not had something explained to them in the right way yet. Another big part of my job is building confidence. Learning how to trust your own judgement and rationale. How to ask the right questions. How to stop panicking and second-guessing yourself during exams. You already have the knowledge, you just have to realise it! I studied Maths, Further Maths, Chemistry and Physics at A Level and AS Level - so the subjects I tutor are ones I've lived and breathed through exams myself, not too long ago. I know the syllabuses well. At GCSE, I achieved 13 A*s across a broad range of subjects including Maths, Further Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, English Language, English Literature and Geography, among others. I was also awarded a prize for Citizenship and Academics as Best in Year. Outside of the classroom, I've always looked for ways to stretch myself - whether that was competitive debating, mentoring other students, or delivering weekly talks to school students and hospital staff linking science and medicine with real-world issues. I also earned Gold (Best in Year) in a UK Mathematics Trust-style competition. More recently, I've applied that academic foundation to some pretty varied things - from building mathematical models to address housing challenges, to achieving a top ~0.02% award in an international essay competition.

Hi! Im Cheryl. I studied Biology, Chemistry and Sociology as A Levels and I am currently in my fifth year of Medical School. I have many years experience being a tutor and I am confident I can help you to achieve your educational goals, whatever they may be! I received 11 GCSE qualifications from Dunraven Secondary Academy. My elective courses were Sociology and Dance. I studied Sociology again at A Level along with Chemistry and Biology at La Retraite Sixth Form. I am now in my fifth year of Medical school at PMU.
