I completed my secondary education at Apostolos Markos Lyceum in Cyprus, where I developed a strong foundation in mathematics and science. During my final year, I achieved first place in the 2022 Pancyprian Mathematics Competition, a national-level award recognising top mathematical ability. I then completed A-levels in Pure Mathematics, earning the highest mark in Europe in A-level Pure Mathematics. I am currently studying Computer Science and Mathematics at the University of Manchester, one of the UK’s top universities. I have just completed my first year with a first-class overall mark of 82.583%, excelling in both theoretical and applied mathematics modules. My university coursework has further deepened my understanding of algebra, calculus, statistics, and logical problem solving. This background has given me the tools and confidence to support students at GCSE and A-level, particularly in Maths, and I am passionate about sharing that knowledge in a clear, structured way.

I am a professional tutor with significant teaching experience in Economics and Business Studies. I have a strong passion for teaching and helping others succeed academically and personally. I enjoy sharing knowledge with others and making a positive impact on a student's life and academic journey. My desire is to help students overcome academic challenges and achieve their full potential. This can involve helping them boost their confidence, improve their grades, support them through an academic project or provide them with personalised learning experiences. My approach focuses on helping students build a strong understanding of core concepts, apply theory to real-world contexts, and develop the analytical and evaluative skills needed for exam success and academic excellence. I have helped students consistently improve by 1-2 grade boundaries and secure places at top universities. University-level students have developed stronger analytical essays and improved their grades in coursework, exams and dissertations. I hold a PhD in Economics and a Masters Degree in Economics, Banking and Finance (with Distinction) from a top UK business school. I've also attended several executive education or professional development courses in Statistical Analysis, Climate Change Risk in Finance and Project Management from Imperial College London, University of Edinburgh and the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) respectively, amongst others. I am a friendly, patient and determined tutor. I recently finished my A-levels in Biology, Chemistry, Maths and Further Maths. I believe that this experience puts me in a great position to share my knowledge to help other students because I know what is needed in order to excel in these subjects. I always like to focus on what you as a student need help with to ensure that you get the most out of every lesson, and spend as much time making progress as possible I would describe myself as methodical and systematic and I think my teaching style reflects this. First, I like to ensure that there is an understanding of the key principles of the topic. Then I like to break questions down and look at the key steps in the method for that question type. I think that repetition is extremely important and the key to mastering a particular topic is encountering as many different variations of questions as possible. So this is what I will encourage. I have previous experience teaching other students from my school A-level maths concepts which they struggled with. While preparing for A-levels I created some resources that enabled me to achieve 4 A*s in the subjects above and have helped other students. Outside of academics, I am a relaxed person and enjoy a wide range of sports, my favourites being football and basketball. I also enjoy reading and spending time with family. Hi! I’m Haivyn, and I’ve recently finished A Level Biology and Chemistry, two subjects I made strong progress in and now love helping others understand. I know science can be overwhelming, so I focus on breaking things down clearly and explaining them in a way that makes sense to each student. I’ve worked with children in several settings. In a Year 8 science class, I supported students who were struggling by using diagrams, hands-on examples, and simple language to match their way of thinking. Some students needed topics broken into small steps, while others needed real-life links to stay engaged. I also made sure to check in often, praise their progress, and build their confidence bit by bit. At Let Us Play, I supported children with disabilities, helping them feel comfortable, included, and understood. I learned to adapt my communication style and be patient, especially when children needed extra time or reassurance. At Nita’s Hair and Beauty, I looked after children while their parents had treatments. I kept them entertained with games and friendly conversations, and made sure they felt safe and listened to. These experiences taught me how to connect with young people, explain clearly, and be the kind of tutor who supports not just learning but confidence too. I completed my GCSEs at Colton Hills Community School, taking triple science, Maths, English Language and Literature, RS, and two BTECs in Sport and Health and Social Care, achieving A*s in sciences and strong overall grades. I then studied A-level Biology, Chemistry, and Economics at The Royal School Wolverhampton, completing my courses and now awaiting results. Following a consistent revision routine helped me excel academically, while playing netball developed my teamwork, leadership, and resilience. Teaching a Year 8 science class strengthened my communication and patience.
