Ruby C.

Hello! My name is Ruby, I am currently a final year BSc Biomedical Sciences student at the University of Leeds. I have tutored in the past and really enjoyed it! I like seeing the development of my students confidence from start to finish. I enjoy travelling, reading, martial arts, organising, and all things medical. One reason you should choose me as your tutor is that I am very patient, I completely understand that some topics are much more difficult to grasp, and it depends on you and your skillset. I attened Freman College where I completed my GCSEs and A-Levels. After leaving school, I attended my first-choice University, University of Leeds. I am now in my 3rd year of a BSc Biomedical Sciences degree, working on my research project on HIV in South Africa. I have completed the UCAT and the GAMSAT admissions tests, and am a certified First Aider for St John.

My name is Jason. I would describe myself as patient, approachable, and motivated and understand that every student faces challenges in their own way, so I always try to create a supportive environment where they feel comfortable asking questions and pushing themselves further. Tutoring has taught me not only how to guide others academically but also how to encourage resilience and independent thinking. Outside of tutoring, I enjoy cooking and sports, which often inspires the way I teach and connect with learners. My goal as a tutor is to help students see that with the right approach and mindset, they are capable of achieving far more than they might believe and make it a more enjoyable experience. I've had past experience as a tutor supporting GCSE students in Maths and Chemistry. During my time at St Olave's Grammar School, I discovered a passion for helping others learn by tutoring younger students, both one-on-one and in small groups. I focused on breaking down challenging topics into clear, manageable steps and tailoring my explanations to match each student’s learning style. This approach helped my students improve their grades, develop stronger study habits, and build the confidence needed to succeed in their exams. I have finished studying A levels in Maths, Biology and Chemistry which has deepened my knowledge and strengthened my ability to explain complex ideas in an accessible way. My specialisations are in Maths and Chemistry, where I particularly enjoy guiding students through problem-solving techniques, exam preparation strategies, and practical applications of theory.
