I am a Qualified Teacher with over 20 years of experience teaching Mathematics to students of all levels. Edexcel, AQA, OCR (most material is common to all exam boards). I am currently working as a Mathematics teacher at a school in the U.K. In my previous roles, I taught mathematics and coding. I have also tutored students at various levels, from primary school to college. I am very well aware of the Mathematics curriculum and always look for new and engaging ways to teach it. Hey I am Si Yeun! I'm a PhD student researching heterogeneous catalysts, and I have 1 year of experience tutoring Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology and Physics for GCSE and below students. Having had some tutoring myself during my GCSE period, I know how much of a nerve-wracking experience it is for both students and parents. With my lessons focusing on teaching based on the students' learning style, I hope to put those nerves at ease. Below is the list of subjects I teach and at which level. KS1/2/3: Mathematics, Science GCSE (Including IGCSE): Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology, Physics Current PhD student researching new catalysts for acetylene hydrogenation. My MSc achieved a First (1st) class classification in Materials for Energy and Environment at UCL, where I specialised in the interference of tyre wear particles with atmospheric ice nucleation. Obtained an upper second (2.1) classification for my BSc in Chemistry at Cardiff University. While my speciality is Chemistry on paper, maths and physics are integral to what I do in my current and previous research.

I am an English Literature graduate from the University of Birmingham, who is currently studying a Masters degree in Philosophy. I really enjoy English and Philosophy as they can be a really fun subjects to learn as well as teach. I found that at school my teachers made the subjects enjoyable, so much so that I got a grade 9 in my English Literature GCSE and a grade 8 in English Language as well as a grade A* in my Religious Studies A-level and a 2:1 in my English Literature degree. Therefore, I aim to help students improve their grades by making learning enjoyable because when something is difficult to learn it can be difficult to want to understand and persevere. As a tutor, it is important to understand areas of struggle and help to adapt them in a way that is more accessible to the student. I have achieved 10 GCSEs, in which I received: 1 Grade 9 in English Literature, 4 Grade 8’s (1 Grade 8 being in English Language), 3 Grade 7’s and 2 Grade 6’s. I have also achieved 3 A-levels and received: an A* in Religion, Philosophy and Ethics, an A in English Literature and a B in German. I graduated from the University of Birmingham as an undergraduate English Literature student with a 2:1 Honours and have recently graduated with a MSc in Philosophy, Mental Health, and Psychology.

I have been a tutor for 2 years, specialising in Maths and English, but I am comfortable teaching a range of subjects. I am in my second year of university studying Law, which has given me many skills such as attention to detail and a strong work ethic. I transfer these qualities to tutoring, and my priority is helping students excel in their studies by providing effective and engaging lessons that tailor to each child's needs. I completed my GCSEs in The Abbey School and my A levels in Kendrick School, achieving results of a high standard that I was proud of. I am now studying Law in university, which has been a passion of mine for many years. My education journey has provided me with joyful and beneficial experiences, as well as challenges that have developed my resilience and shaped me as a person.
