Hi! I’m Selina, I’m currently studying Finance at university and I love to help others with their learning! I have a passion for tutoring as I love to teach others what I know about in a subject. My goal in tutoring is to make sure the student excels. I currently attend University of Westminster and I am studying Finance BSc. I have completed many certifications from Finance to Tutoring to an internship. I have also completed my A levels in Psychology, English Language and Literature, Biology, and EPQ.

I am a qualified teacher and I have more than four years of experience in tutoring students online. I specialise in Maths and English and I have experience preparing students for SATs and 11 plus exams. I tutor online only. Furthermore, I use an adaptive teaching style to cater for all different types of learners (kinaesthetic, visual, auditory). I use different teaching approaches as students learn at different rates, have different needs and learning styles. I adapt my approach depending on the student and their needs. For example, I help students practice answering exam style questions by going through past papers. In addition, I prepare for my sessions using baseline assessments to identify areas they are struggling with. I like involving the student in order to create personalised session plans to meet their needs. Also, I set homework tasks for the students to complete in-between lessons to consolidate their learning using the seneca platform. Usually, I use a "I do, we do and you do" structure for my sessions. This tends to consist of a PowerPoint with interactive activities, videos, games, quizzes and exam questions. Some resources I use include Seneca and Twinkl. I ensure that I recap previous learning through retrieval activity at the start of sessions. I address misconceptions through questioning. I ensure the topics are taught in small chunks using scaffolding and live modelling. My Education GCSE: Grades A-C in Maths, English, Science, Health and Social Care, PE, French and History. I have been tutoring with GoStudent for six months now, having formerly worked at museums, churches and summer camps. I enjoy working with children and am a current Sunday-School teacher and former volunteer with several youth charities. I also have two years of classroom experience with Years 2 and 3, but am happy to work with children of any age, teaching English, Maths, History, Latin, and RE. Please note I do not take adult learners at this time. I am a graduate of the University of Cambridge with a first-class degree in History, also having taken papers in Classics and Theology. I won several prizes during my degree, including three prize scholarships and the Roy Porter Prize for History in my second year. Prior to my degree, I took three A-Levels in History, Maths and English, receiving all A*s, and prior to that, ten GCSEs, receiving all 9s.

Hi, I’m Tara Patel, a dedicated and passionate Math teacher! I enjoy making mathematics engaging and meaningful by connecting lessons to real-life situations and using interactive activities that spark curiosity. My goal is to help students build confidence in problem-solving and develop a genuine appreciation for numbers. I love creating a fun and supportive learning environment where every student feels encouraged to explore and succeed. In my free time, I enjoy solving puzzles, watching educational videos, and taking peaceful morning walks to start the day with a clear mind. I graduated with a Bachelor in Secondary Education, Major in Mathematics, and I also hold a Juris Doctor degree. My academic journey equipped me with strong skills in analytical thinking, problem-solving, and effective communication. Through my education, I developed expertise in creating engaging math lessons, applying various teaching strategies, and supporting students with different learning styles. My background in law further enhanced my discipline, critical thinking, and attention to detail, which I bring into my teaching to help students become logical, confident, and motivated learners.
