With over four years of experience tutoring maths and science, I’ve developed a structured and results-driven approach that helps students build confidence and master exam technique. As an MPharm graduate currently completing my hospital training year, I bring a strong foundation in clinical reasoning and scientific analysis to my sessions. My tutoring style focuses on consolidating knowledge through exam-style questions, allowing students to apply concepts in realistic scenarios. I began my academic journey at John Ruskin College, where I completed A levels in Chemistry and Biology, alongside GCSEs in English and Maths. I also earned a BTEC Extended Diploma in Applied Science and was awarded the Bronze Duke of Edinburgh for altruism. I’ve since graduated with an MPharm degree from the University of East Anglia and am currently completing my hospital training year as a trainee pharmacist. This clinical experience has strengthened my analytical thinking and deepened my understanding of scientific principles—skills I bring into every tutoring session. My approach centres on consolidating knowledge through exam-style questions, helping students apply concepts confidently and accurately. I have worked as a lecturer at De Montfort University for over 15 years. I hold a PGCE in further Education, an MA in English Language Teaching, and a BA honours in English. I taught English for Academic Purposes at university. This enabled me to develop various teaching approaches at different levels of English usage. I have also taught KS3-KS5 in the UK and abroad during which I have been observed several times and demonstrated that I was outstanding. I have used various teaching aids ranging from pictures, flash cards, to a variety of IT techniques. I have also used peer interaction and assessment to develop learners. Teaching at university enabled me to teach presentation skills. This has enabled me to do the same during training, coaching and mentoring sessions with colleagues. I have mentored a number of tutors. In my experience as a university lecturer I have used a variety of online platforms to teach students during the Covid-19 pandemic. I began my journey into English in 2002 when I did a BA (hons) in English at Demontfort university. Following this I did an MA in Children’s Literature in 2005 due to my immense love of reading. However, it was only when I landed a job at a resources centre that I decided to specialize in teaching and so I did a PGCE in education and an MA in English language teaching both in 2007-2009. I absolutely love teaching since then - as cliche as it sounds it is truly my passion and the most rewarding thing I’ve ever done. I love my students and to see them excel truly makes me content. I’ve been told that I have a gift for building a rapport with learners and I to feel this is something that comes naturally to me because as a student I myself struggled with being misunderstood and branded as a ‘bad student’. I feel as a result I can relate to students and their struggles more easily. I’m also very patient and an excellent listener.

Hi! My name is Eloise, I recently graduated from the University of Lincoln with a first class psychology degree and I am excited to begin teaching A Level and GCSE psychology using the skills and knowledge I gained during my studies. Whilst at University, I tutored other students who needed help with research skills and essay writing skills as well as a GCSE history student who required exam technique mentoring, this student was able to increase their grade from a 3 to a 5 after a few sessions. My own experience with A level psychology has equipped me with tried and tested exam techniques which I would love to share with new students and help them achieve the best grades they can, and the grades they deserve, as I know how much hard work goes into these exams! I attended the Cottesloe school (2015- 2020) and gained my GCSEs with grades 5- 7, and a distinction* in business studies. I then joined the sixth form at the same school (2020-2022) where I achieved an A* in psychology, A in history and distinction* in business. I then went to the University of Lincoln (2022-2025) where I gained my Batchelor's degree in psychology with first class honours. During my degree I covered a broad scope of psychology topics and research skills, including my dissertation in my third year in which I achieved a first class grade on.
