Hello! I'm Ashleigh, an experienced English tutor with nearly a decade of teaching experience. I'm here to help you navigate the complexities of language and literature. Whether we're analysing Shakespeare or refining your creative writing, my aim is to make learning both enriching and enjoyable. Originally from Manchester, I now live in Scotland with my cat, Gus. I’ve always loved literature and enjoy exploring different perspectives through a wide range of genres, from dystopian fiction to poetry. I’m especially drawn to writing poetry that captures people, landscapes, and the natural beauty of Scotland. I also have a keen interest in TV and film, which often inspires the way I think about storytelling and brings a bit of imagination into my lessons. Alongside tutoring, I’m currently completing a PhD in Creative Writing at the University of Strathclyde, where I’m developing a novel while researching how storytelling shapes the way we understand relationships and human experiences. I’m also working on a collection of short stories that explore human connections, while continuing to write poetry. I teach students across a wide range of ages, from 6 to 18, and can support you with all aspects of English. Because I work with different age groups and exam boards, I don’t have every text committed to memory—but if you let me know what you’re studying in advance, I’ll make sure I’m fully up to date and ready to help you get the most out of our lessons. My academic journey began at the University of Stirling, where I completed a BA (Hons) in English Studies and later an MLitt in Creative Writing, graduating with distinction. Alongside tutoring, I’m also a published short story writer and poet, a freelance editor, and currently completing a Level 5 TEFL qualification. My teaching style is professional but relaxed, with a focus on building confidence, encouraging independent thinking, and helping students develop the skills they need to succeed. Every lesson is tailored to the student’s goals, combining discussion, guided practice, and clear feedback so you can see your progress week by week. I’m a friendly and patient tutor who enjoys helping students build confidence in subjects that can sometimes feel overwhelming. I teach both Maths and Computer Science across a range of levels, from early primary all the way up to GCSE, I adapt each lesson to how the student learns best. My teaching style focuses on breaking concepts down into simple, clear steps. I like to make lessons interactive, encouraging students to ask questions and think through problems rather than just memorising answers. This helps them develop real understanding and the confidence to approach new topics independently. For younger students, I focus on making learning engaging and supportive so they feel comfortable participating. For older students, I emphasise exam technique, structured problem-solving, and strengthening any gaps in knowledge. Whether a student needs help catching up, preparing for exams, or simply gaining more confidence in Maths or Computer Science, my goal is always to create a calm and encouraging learning environment where progress feels achievable. I have a strong background in both Maths and Computer Science, and I have worked with students across a range of ages and learning styles. My experience includes tutoring primary, secondary, and adult learners, helping them improve their understanding of key concepts as well as their confidence in approaching challenging topics. I have supported students with curriculum learning, homework support, and exam preparation, particularly in Maths and Computer Science. Through tutoring, I’ve worked with learners who needed help strengthening foundations as well as students aiming to reach top grades. Hi, I’m Seth Anderson, an enthusiastic and dedicated Math teacher. I am passionate about helping students explore the world of mathematics in engaging and meaningful ways. My goal is to make learning Math enjoyable and effective through interactive activities, real-world applications, and thought-provoking problem-solving that builds both confidence and critical thinking skills. In my free time, I enjoy watching movies and playing musical instruments such as the drums and guitar, which help me stay creative and energized. I graduated with a degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering, where I developed a strong foundation in mathematical concepts. With 14 years of teaching experience, I have refined my instructional strategies and classroom management skills. My background has equipped me to design engaging lessons, adapt to diverse learning styles, and create a supportive environment where every student is encouraged to succeed and reach their full potential.
