Hi, I’m Maite! I’m a native German speaker and teach German at all levels — Primary, GCSE, and A-Level. Besides German and English, I also speak French and Spanish. I hold a BA in Cultural Studies with a minor in Educational Science, which deepened my understanding of cross-cultural learning, communication, and how to make complex ideas accessible. During my time at university, I spent over three years tutoring children of different ages, working in a programme led by the German federal government to support children from migrant and refugee backgrounds in their school learning. I am now excited to work with adults as well. When I think back to my own school years, the teachers who inspired me most were those whose honest passion made even my least favourite subjects enjoyable. That’s the atmosphere I aim to create in my lessons: engaging, light, and enjoyable. Outside tutoring, I teach meditation and mindfulness and support a charity creatively, which helps me bring patience, flexibility, and creativity into my teaching. I tailor lessons to each student — whether you need grammar support, speaking practice, exam preparation, or a personalised lesson to build confidence at your own pace, or simply want to learn German out of interest and enjoyment. I hold a BA in Cultural Studies and Educational Science, which I completed at Leuphana University in Lüneburg, Germany. I specialised in cultural theory and visual culture and spent an Erasmus semester at Université Bordeaux Montaigne in France. In addition, I hold a Yoga Alliance–approved 200-hour Yoga Teacher Certificate, complemented by an additional 50 hours of training in meditation.

I successfully completed my A Levels with excellent grades, particularly in science subjects, which sparked my interest in healthcare. I am currently a first-year dental student, pursuing my studies with a strong foundation in academic excellence and a passion for oral health and patient care.

I am an enthusiastic and dedicated individual with a strong passion for teaching and supporting children in their academic development. I enjoy working with students of all ages, from primary school through to A-level, and I take great pride in helping learners build confidence and achieve their academic potential. Alongside my academic background, I have a wide range of interests, including playing sports and cooking different recipes, which I enjoy in my free time. I am also multilingual and can speak both Bengali and Urdu fluently, allowing me to communicate effectively with students and families from diverse backgrounds. I have valuable teaching experience, having previously run my own private tuition sessions for primary school children, primarily focusing on English. I am currently expanding this to include secondary school students as well. I tutor primary school students in both Maths and English, GCSE students in English Language and English Literature, and A-level students in Finance. My goal is to create a supportive and engaging learning environment where students feel motivated to improve and succeed. Alongside helping them academically, I also mentor them, encouraging them to keep a positive attitude, in the hopes of getting them back into education fully (within a school environment). Teaching is something I have always been passionate about from a young age. I strongly believe in the importance of education in shaping a child’s future, and I am committed to supporting students in reaching their full potential. I hope to continue inspiring and guiding students through their academic journeys while also progressing within my own professional career in finance. Academically, I achieved a Grade 8 in English Literature and a Grade 6 in English Language at GCSE level. I also studied Finance at A-level, achieving an A*, which reflects my strong interest and ability in the subject. I recently completed my undergraduate degree in Accounting and Finance at the University of East London in 2024, graduating with First Class Honours. Throughout my degree, I developed a strong understanding of financial principles, accounting practices, and analytical skills essential for a successful career in finance. Following my degree, I also completed a postgraduate course related to Accounting and Finance, achieving a Pass with Distinction. This has further strengthened my knowledge and reinforced my ambition to pursue a career as a Chartered Accountant in the future.
