Hi, I’m Varun! I’m a Master's student at UCL, studying Software Systems Engineering. I also have a first-class honours bachelor's degree in Computer Science. I have a strong passion for both Mathematics and Computer Science, and I love sharing that enthusiasm with others through teaching. Mathematics and Computer Science are not just academic subjects to me—they shape the way I think and approach problems. From logical coding processes to the structure behind music, I appreciate how these disciplines connect to the world around us. Whether it’s exploring the logic behind algorithms or understanding how mathematical principles apply to real-world scenarios, I enjoy helping students see these subjects in a new light. I offer tutoring in Mathematics for all ages up to GCSE level and Computer Science up to undergraduate level. I have real experience teaching for OCR, AQA, Edexcel, WJEC, and Eduqas across both subjects, ensuring my lessons align with the specific requirements of each exam board. My approach is always tailored to each student, helping them feel confident in tackling challenging topics in a way that works best for them. In Mathematics, I help students develop strong problem-solving skills and a deep understanding of key topics, from foundational arithmetic to algebra, geometry, and trigonometry. Whether it’s reinforcing school material, practicing exam-style questions, or building confidence with tricky concepts, I ensure lessons are engaging and structured to suit individual learning styles. In Computer Science, I cover both theory and practical programming skills. I help students master topics such as algorithms, data structures, networking, and computer architecture while also ensuring they gain hands-on experience in coding. I’m comfortable teaching Python, Java, C#, VB.NET, and more, and I can also support students with programming projects in any language of their choice, offering guidance on best practices, debugging, and code optimization. With over 1,000 lessons delivered in Mathematics and Computer Science, I have worked with students from a wide range of academic backgrounds. My goal is not just to improve grades but to build confidence and foster a genuine interest in these subjects. If you’re looking for a tutor who can make complex concepts more approachable and help you build a strong foundation in Maths and Computer Science, I’d love to help! Working towards a MSc in Software Systems Engineering at University College London I hold: - First Class Honours Bachelors degree in Computer Science from Royal Holloway, University of London - A Levels in Mathematics, Computer Science and Economics - a Further Mathematics qualification - GCSES in Mathematics, English Lit and Lang, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, DT, Latin, and Music - Grade 5 in Piano and Cello

Lower Level: French GCSE: French A-Level (AI) : French Higher Level: French Languages: English and French Preferred Student Age Group: (Any/Primary/GSCE/Leaving Certificate/A-Level) I was born in Paris and raised in a bilingual household with no shortage of music. My father was a singer-songwriter, my mum plays the violin and I started singing before I could walk. After earning a diploma in Performing Arts in California, I moved to London and lived there for many years before relocating to the beautiful West of Ireland. After moving to London, I started teaching French and English as a Second Language to private students between auditions and performances and completely fell in love with teaching languages. Apart from performing and teaching languages, I really enjoy travelling and have had the chance to visit many countries in Europe and beyond. I have a real passion for the Italian language and love spending time in Florence, one of my favourite cities in the world. Last but not least, I love reading, have an extensive knowledge of French and Irish History, and also adore animals ... cats, dogs, horses... I love them all.

Hi! My name is Aurora and I am a postgraduate student at the University of Manchester, studying a Masters in Development Economics. I am originally from Italy, but I moved to the UK when I was 16 and sat both my GCSEs and A Levels in London. In my GCSEs I achieved 8 A* and 4 A grades. These were the second-highest results in my cohort, despite the fact I had only been living in England for two years before sitting my exams. At sixth form, I taught myself French A Level in just one year and achieved an A grade, the highest grade in my class. I have always found learning languages an extremely rewarding, albeit sometimes frustrating process. Although languages open up doors to new ways of thinking and seeing the world around you, grasping the different aspects of a language, such as its grammar, can be demoralising. And that’s what I am here for - as a fellow language learner, I can empathise with the difficulties of this process and will do my best to make it as smooth and fun as possible. Furthermore, as a foreigner who has been through the UK education system, I am able to advise those in similar positions and facing similar challenges. Students learn in different ways, so I will adapt our lessons depending on your preferred learning style. During the introductory lesson, I will ask you questions in order to determine how you study, and your responses will shape the way I plan our future sessions. I will also be interested to know the topics you are struggling the most with, in order to give me a clearer idea of the areas I should focus on. I look forward to hearing from you! All the best, Aurora Qualifications: Msc, Development Economics and Policy at the University of Manchester (September 2023 - September 2024) BA, Economics with French and German at the University of Sheffield (September 2019 - June 2023) : First Class with Distinction in Spoken German A Levels (2016 - 2018): French (A), Italian (A), Chemistry (A), Mathematics (A) GCSEs (2014 - 2016): English Language (A), Chemistry (A), Physics (A), Further Mathematics (A), Biology (A*), Mathematics (A*), French (A*), German (A*), Italian (A*), ICT (A*), Religious Studies (A*), English Literature (A*). I am an English Literature graduate from the University of Birmingham, who is currently studying a Masters degree in Philosophy. I really enjoy English and Philosophy as they can be a really fun subjects to learn as well as teach. I found that at school my teachers made the subjects enjoyable, so much so that I got a grade 9 in my English Literature GCSE and a grade 8 in English Language as well as a grade A* in my Religious Studies A-level and a 2:1 in my English Literature degree. Therefore, I aim to help students improve their grades by making learning enjoyable because when something is difficult to learn it can be difficult to want to understand and persevere. As a tutor, it is important to understand areas of struggle and help to adapt them in a way that is more accessible to the student. I have achieved 10 GCSEs, in which I received: 1 Grade 9 in English Literature, 4 Grade 8’s (1 Grade 8 being in English Language), 3 Grade 7’s and 2 Grade 6’s. I have also achieved 3 A-levels and received: an A* in Religion, Philosophy and Ethics, an A in English Literature and a B in German. I have recently graduated from the University of Birmingham as an undergraduate English Literature student with a 2:1 Honours

I’ve had many years of experience volunteering with schools helping students excel in subjects that they find difficult. I’ve always had a passion for science leading me to have a career in microbiology so I know tutoring biology would be a strong suit. Hopefully, I can encourage more students, especially young women to pursue a future in STEM. I loved maths back in school and I do find myself still doing random mathematical questions as I love the subject. I was my favourite back in school. My teacher made English enjoyable and allowed me to have creative responsibilities, making me want to pass that on to the next generation. Apart from my educational background, I enjoy art, allowing me to be more creative and express myself in a different light. But apart from my academics, Im very creative and enjoy doing lots of artistic hobbies such as painting and drawing. My most remarkable talent is drawing landscapes. I also am a big movie buff so hopefully, I can if I have that in common with a student I use that to tailor lessons for them. BSc (Hons) Biomedical Sciences Primary: Maths, English, Sciences, 11+ exam, and entrance GCSE: Maths, English Literature, English Language, Biology, Chemistry, History Exam Board Experience: AQA, OCR, Edexcel, 11+, SJT Student Age: Upper Primary (Year 5-6) and Secondary (GCSE)

Lower level: Primary Maths, English and Science GCSE level: Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Maths, and English A-level: Biology Exam board experience: AQA, OCR, Edexcel, 11+ Language: English Preferred student age group: Primary, GCSEs and A-level About me: I’m currently studying Bioveterinary Science BSc (Hons) at the University of Chester, with the goal of one day becoming a Veterinary Surgeon. As you might have guessed, I’m passionate about animals—I have three dogs at home who I absolutely adore! One of my proudest achievements is earning my black belt in karate in 2020, a milestone I reached alongside some of my closest friends. It was a memorable and rewarding experience for all of us. I’ve also climbed the UK’s Three Peaks before turning 18, which was both physically and mentally challenging, but incredibly fulfilling. Having completed most of my A-levels through online learning during lockdown, I understand firsthand the challenges students face in remote education. This experience fuels my motivation to support students in reaching their full potential. I believe that building confidence and unlocking learning potential are key to lifelong success. I have worked with students facing a range of challenges, including anxiety, dyslexia, ADHD, and extreme shyness. I’m especially proud of the progress many of them have made—growing in confidence and communication, not just in school, but in their personal lives too. Seeing students thrive and express themselves freely is one of the most rewarding parts of what I do, and I’m committed to helping others take those same positive steps toward a brighter future. I have a range of GCSE qualifications, as well as A-Levels in Maths, Biology and Chemistry. I completed an EPQ (Extended Project Qualification) in Toxoplasmosis within sheep herds. I have also completed four online courses, they are in Animal behaviour and welfare, Ecology and ecosystems, Edivet: basics of veterinary Surgery, Canine communication. I am currently studying at the University of Chester doing a Bachelors of Science degree in Bioveterinary Science.

How to find the best A-level tutor for your child

What are A-levels?

A-level stands for ‘advanced level’, which gives you a good indication of how difficult they can be. Students usually work towards achieving their A-levels over two years, taking three or four courses in the first year of Sixth Form and three in the second year.

Are A-levels difficult?

The shift from GCSE to A-levels is huge, and many students get caught out as they’re expecting a gentle jump.

A-levels require an increased level of independence. Some kids thrive on this newfound taste of adulthood whereas others take more time to adjust.

What is an A-level exam?

A-level exams take place at the end of each year, with the second-year exam testing content from both years.

Non-exam assessments only make up 20% or less of the final grade. That’s why nailing the exams is crucial.

Who can take A-level exams?

Requirements vary between different schools and colleges, but generally speaking your child will need:

  • A minimum of five GCSE subjects with a grade of 4–9 (previously C–A*)
  • The grade needs to be a minimum of 6 in the subjects they want to study

When will your child need help with their A-levels?

Many children benefit from tuition right from the start, as the jump from GCSEs is more like a vertical rock climb than a jog up a hill.

If your child struggles with planning their study time, their tutor can guide them on the best study practices and help create a learning schedule.

Why A-level private tutoring works

  • A private tutor is specialised. Our tutors have been through the process themselves and know their subjects inside out
  • Online tutoring saves travel time, and the majority of students feel more comfortable in their own home
  • Online tutoring also widens the net. You can literally take your pick of the top tutors available

When should my child start revising for their A-levels?

How much time is needed will depend upon how much effort your child put in during the year and how hard they found the content. Ideally, leave at least a few months for revision and longer if they are taking more than three A-levels.

How do you revise for A-levels?

Just reading over notes and books isn’t enough to solidify information in the brain. Your child will need a study timetable so they can ensure they have time to revise everything in detail.

Our dedicated A-level online tutors will provide homework and exam papers to practise on and will keep you up-to-date on your child’s progress.

Book your free trial lesson today and breathe a sigh of relief. At GoStudent, we make sure that every one of our professional and experienced A-level tutors has been there, aced that, so your child is in safe hands.

Answering student's questions about A Levels level online lessons

The price of each individual lesson is dependent on how long your child would like tuition support and how many lessons they take per week. The more they learn, the lower the price of each lesson! Why not book a free trial session for you and your child to see how we can help?
