~ Welcome to Ms. A. L River's Classes ~ It is a pleasure to have you here on this journey! I cannot wait to meet your sproutlings (and establishing trees), continuing the process of discovering and nurturing their passions with them. I have six years experience of guiding and teaching students of various ages. All lessons are preplanned, with the student's interests and passions intentionally worked into the teaching. TEACHING TOOLS: * Screen sharing facilities, * co-writing, including mind-mapping and more * illustrations * key stage-relevant worksheets, * quizzes / past exam questions (familiar with AQA, OCR, WJEC, Pearsons/Edexcel) * recorded videos * thought provoking, practical application in the world relevant to the student WHO I WORK WITH: Pupils desiring improvement in their subjects (who may not yet know they will enjoy the process!) Particularly: - those who may find typical lessons less engaging of their focus, and enjoy a more interactive, magical style of teaching. - those who desire continuous encouragement, support, and prefer experimentation with various techniques & styles of teaching - those who desire more effort and time to build a trusting connection with their tutor - those who need fun as part of their learning experience (everyone!) I prefer to work with one pupil on a number of subjects rather than one, as subjects can tie-in and feed into one another in explaining the world through a multi-disciplinary lens. My Plan: Building ongoing connection and tailoring my sessions to your child's/ your specific learning style and/or needs. This part is integral to the learning process, and our first session will ensure an in-depth understanding of the student's most aligned learning style. SUBJECTS key stage 1-3 (ages 5-14) All core & foundation subjects as stated on the 'national curriculum in England - Framework document' GSCEs Key stage 3 (ages 14-16) all core subjects + Media + Drama/acting + Art & Design + Geography + History + ICT +R.S / Philosophy Sixth Form AS/A-Levels: *Psychology *English Lit (and English Lang) *History/ Classical Civilisations *Philosophy *Anthropology *Media and/or film studies I look forward to working with you, book a package to start now! Hi, I’m Paul. I mostlytutor Maths and Science as well as Computer Science and English as a Foreign Language, which I trained in at Columbia Teachers’ College, USA. Originally I studied for a BA in Natural Sciences. I have been a classroom teacher and tutor for over 15years, in the UK as well as South Korea, Japan and China, and more recently have developed Science courses for a large online learning platform. My tutorials are often centered around structured practice of specific topic areas, with an approach geared toward getting students to speak freely about topics in their own voices. I am happy to tailor sessions with either general revision, exam preparation or new learning and discovery in mind. In my free time, I enjoy tennis, movies and triathlons. Hope to see you soon!

I am a natural sciences student studying at the university of Durham. I got straight A*s and As at A level and straight 8s and 9s at GCSE (except for a 7 in history - gah, I still can't believe that happened!) I have over a dozen students and I've been tutoring for half a year. I have worked as an astronomer at UMK, a science writer at UOS, and of course a tutor here on GoStudent. I teach maths and science up to A level and I'm pretty good at it. :) I achieved seven 9s and three 8s at GCSE and 5 A*s and As at A level and I have worked as an astronomer at UMK, a writer for Southampton University, a Librarian for Portswood Library, and of course a private tutor for almost half a year now. I am particularly good at maths, which I skipped 3 years in to begin my A level studies in year 9.

Go Student has been an amazing company to work for but also an amazing place for students to find tutors that best suit their learning styles. I have been with the company for just under 2 years now and I love the structure, collaboration and development of the company. GoStudent is moving towards the future not only for tutors and teachers but for students to and how they are able to learn in the future. I have never been more proud working with a company than I am at GoStudent.
