I’m now doing a PhD in Medical Physics at VUB in Brussels, focusing on computational and biological physics—combining research, problem-solving, and my love for teaching. Hi! I’m currently studying a maths engineering degree at university and I can’t wait to use the skills I’ve learned to help students with maths and science. I understand what it’s like to struggle with a STEM subject, so I approach my tutoring from a place of patience and sympathy. When a student doesn’t understand a concept, I focus on finding out exactly what piece of the puzzle they are missing, and will re-explain the idea in a way that works for them, as everyone learns differently! During my Molecular Medicine degree, I developed an interest in cancer, so I applied for- and got accepted into an MSc in Cancer Sciences at the University of Glasgow. I have won a few awards so far, one of which is ‘Best Research Paper’ award, which was in recognition of my outstanding achievement and command of research by the end of my MSc in Molecular Medicine. I have been awarded a few grants and scholarships and have met former president Barak Obama as part of the programme I had on one of the leadership courses I undertook in the US. Currently, I research the use of artificial intelligence in diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment of colorectal cancer which will greatly impact the quality of care that patients receive.
