ABOUT ME I have a deep interest in history, human and physical geography, anthropology, technology, architecture and engineering. I especially enjoy the history and geography of languages and language families. I am a keen traveller, audiophile and technophile, with a love for all kinds of technologies, analogue and digital, new and old. Thanks to COVID I learnt a lot of DIY skills through necessity. My house also has a garden full of fruit trees, so I guess that would make me an amateur gardener by default. I try to keep fit by cycling when possible, but my favourite sport is swimming. I tend to teach students aged 14+, so from Year 9 to Year 13 or older, but I do have a few students younger than this. I use a variety of teaching approaches, ranging from traditional methods of text analysis to modern forms of teaching, such as interactive quizzes, questionnaires and even YouTube videos if they benefit the students learning style. I am studying Biotechnology at the University of Nottingham and have been tutoring students from KS2 to A-Level for two years. I am passionate about making learning more fun for my pupils because that way they'll learn better. I am very good at explaining difficult concepts in different ways so that all students understand. My name is Katy and I graduated from the University of Manchester with a degree in Politics & Modern History. I have been living in Spain & France so am fluent in both languages whilst tutoring to a wide range of ages for the past few years. I am calm, interactive and experienced and enjoy working with students to help achieve their goals. I am TEFL certified, and have plenty of experience with all GCSE & A level examination boards. Hello, my name is Scarlett. I am in my second year of studying Law at the University of Leeds. I grew up overseas and did my GCSEs and A Levels in Abu Dhabi. I took Geography, History and English Literature at A Level at a British School. I love these subjects and would thoroughly enjoy helping others learn. I attended The British School Al Khubairat for the majority of my schooling and completed my GCSEs and A Levels there. I am currently in my second year of studying Law at the University of Leeds. I have a Sports Leadership Qualification that allows me to teach/look after children unsupervised, which is something I do in my part-time job(that I have had for three years now). Medicine reject at A-level who decided to pursue biomedical sciences instead to explore several career routes in science. Upon further exploration through experiences in healthcare, decided to give medicine one more chance as a postgraduate degree and recieved an offer from Oxford for medicine. Interests include music, gaming and travelling. Tutoring GCSE and A-level Maths and Sciences for over 4 years helping over 40 students achieve their dream grades with a mean result improvement of 2 grades. I also assist in UK medical school admissions tests, personal statement writing and interviews (Oxbridge included). My teaching style heavily revolves around putting methods to practise by attempting several exam questions during lesson time. The goal is to familiarise yourself with exam techniques to the point where exam questions do not startle you. After being rejected from medicine, I decided to complete a BSc in Biomedical Sciences at UCL, achieving a 1st Class Honours. During my degree I realised my passion lies in medicine and decided to try one more time by changing key parts of my application. Luckily, I received offers from Oxford and Warwick for Graduate-Entry Medicine.
