Hi, I'm Amelia! I am a third-year university student at the University of Leeds studying English and History. I start my teacher training in September; however, I have been tutoring for almost 5 years now. I pride myself on being approachable and friendly towards my students. Tutoring can be intimidating, so building a happy and comfortable learning environment is my priority. I have seen immense success in my students in the past, with most advancing beyond their initial goals, come exam season. I am studying Biotechnology at the University of Nottingham and have been tutoring students from KS2 to A-Level for two years. I am passionate about making learning more fun for my pupils because that way they'll learn better. I am very good at explaining difficult concepts in different ways so that all students understand. I did A Levels in Biology (AQA), Chemistry (AQA), Economics (Edexcel). I am in my third year of Biotechnology BSc (Hons) and have studied a variety of modules during my studies that equiped me with relevant knowledge that will allow me to stretch my students who want to know more about science. I help my students reach their maximum potential by focusing on building the skills that they will need to succeed in exams. Exam skills are often the downfall of even very intelligent students. Exams are stressful and unnatural enviroments, but by practicing all types of questions together, my students have gone on to achieve grades that they would not have thought possible.

I just graduated from a degree in English Literature, French and Dutch at the University of Sheffield with First Class Honours, and am currently training to be a speech and language therapist. I can't wait to share my passion for books, languages and everything in between! I have been tutoring for 4 years and am offering tutoring in English, French and History to A level. I finished my A Levels in summer 2021 so I completely understand not only the current exam system and latest revision techniques, but also how stressful school life can be, both inside and out of the classroom. My goal in becoming a tutor is to do my best to help you achieve your personal goals, whether you're aiming to simply pass a class or achieve the highest grade possible.
