I started tutoring students since 2017, privately, in groups and then online. Due to my experience in tutoring, I gained patience, confidence, positivity, knowledge, leadership and communication skills. This helped me become a better tutor that can benefit the students as much as possible. Hence the results of the students were very satisfying. I would like to take part in tutoring math and physics in all level, GCSE and A-level math. The small gap in years between me and my students will improve our communication and interaction that are crucial for an enhanced learning. I can teach any age group in schools, I can always take advantage of the patience that I have built upon the past years. Teaching have always been a way to show interest in helping others to reach their goals. I am glad to be a tutor in one of the most important online tutoring platforms, hoping to bring success and motivation to our students. I then specialized in mechanical engineering, where I developed technical skills and practical knowledge. Currently, I'm expanding my expertise by pursuing an MBA to enhance my business acumen and leadership abilities.

**SSH** Hi, I'm Sophie (she/her) ! I just graduated from a degree in English Literature, French and Dutch at the University of Sheffield with First Class Honours, and am currently training to be a speech and language therapist. I can't wait to share my passion for books, languages and everything in between! I have been tutoring for 4 years and am offering tutoring in English, French and History to A level. I finished my A Levels in summer 2021 so I completely understand not only the current exam system and latest revision techniques, but also how stressful school life can be, both inside and out of the classroom. My goal in becoming a tutor is to do my best to help you achieve your personal goals, whether you're aiming to simply pass a class or achieve the highest grade possible. Our sessions will be focussed around how to achieve your best- everyone's 'best' is different, but yours is what matters to me. Outside of studying, I am usually found relaxing and having a giggle with my friends, curled up with a good book (my favourites are usually fantasy or romances) and a cup of coffee, or dancing! I've also been vegan for six years and a huge animal lover. MSc Speech and Language Therapy (September 2025- June 2027) First Class Degree in English Literature and Modern Languages and Cultures (French and Dutch) (September 2021- June 2025) A Levels (achieved May 2021) A*: English Literature (AQA), French (AQA), History (Edexcel) A: Extended Project [English Language focus] GCSEs (achieved June 2019) 9: French (AQA), Combined Science 8: History (Edexcel), Religious Studies, Latin, English Language 7: English Literature (AQA), Mathematics

Hello! My name is Aminah, and I’m an Accounting and Finance student at Aston University with a strong academic background in Maths and a passion for helping students feel more confident and capable in the subject. I understand that every student has a different learning style, which is why I adapt my teaching methods to suit their individual needs. Whether you’re struggling with basic concepts or aiming for top grades, I create lessons that are structured, supportive, and easy to follow — always encouraging questions and active participation. My approach is patient, calm, and clear. I break down topics step by step and use real-life examples to help ideas stick. I want my students to not only improve academically but to build long-term confidence in their abilities. Outside of tutoring, I love baking, reading, and solving puzzles — hobbies that help me stay creative and detail-oriented, which also influences how I teach. I believe learning should be enjoyable and engaging, and I strive to bring that into every session. If you’re looking for a tutor who’s approachable, committed, and ready to help you grow in Maths, I’d be excited to work with you! I am currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Accounting and Finance at Aston University. This course has deepened my understanding of numbers, logical thinking, and problem-solving—skills that are essential in both mathematics and tutoring. Before university, I completed my GCSEs and A Levels at King Edward VI Lordswood School for Girls. At GCSE level, I achieved a grade 8 in Mathematics, which I’m especially proud of. Having recently gone through the exam process myself, I understand the challenges that KS1 to GCSE students face, and I’m well-equipped to guide them with effective study techniques, structured support, and encouragement. My academic journey has given me a strong foundation in maths and a clear sense of how to explain concepts in a way that is simple, engaging, and tailored to each student’s learning style. I’m passionate about helping students gain confidence, tackle difficult topics, and achieve their full potential.

Having the one to one lesson time is truly fabulous. The professionalism in lesson planning is outstanding and has highlighted some weakness within the subject, this has already been address and rectified which has given my daughter more confidence in her up coming exams.

Jin exceeded our expectations! We are new to Go Student so we didn't know what it would be like. Our kids chose Jin based on his profile and he has been a great math tutor for the last month. He really listens & understands where where each of our kids is at. He communicates well & checks for understanding. He shares information well & is flexible when needed. We're definitely sticking with it. Well worth our money! Thanks Jin!

“Shahana’s dedication to my daughter’s learning is truly commendable. Not only has she mastered her times tables, but her reading and spelling abilities have soared under Shahana’s guidance. The weekly homework ensures consistent practice, reinforcing what she learns during lessons. What’s particularly impressive is the ease and convenience of rescheduling lessons when needed, making the entire learning experience stress-free for both my daughter and me. Grateful for Shahana’s positive impact on my child’s education!”

What is the IGCSE?
The IGCSE (which stands for the International General Certificate of Secondary Education) is taken by students aged 14-16 (Year 10 and 11) to prepare them for further pre-university level study, such as A-levels.
It offers the same level of education as a traditional GCSE but does not have a UK-centric curriculum. For example, Shakespeare is a compulsory part of GCSE English Literature but not the IGCSE.
Children in state schools usually take GCSEs whilst those in private and international schools are more likely to take IGCSEs. Universities do not distinguish between the two when it comes to entry requirements. The exams are assessed externally.
What is the focus of the IGCSE?
The IGCSE focuses on developing understanding, skill, and knowledge in the following areas:
Subject content
The application of knowledge and understanding to new as well as familiar situations
Intellectual enquiry
Flexibility and responsiveness to change
Working and communicating in English
Influencing outcomes
Cultural awareness
What subjects are studied?
IGCSEs are available in a broad range of subjects but curriculums vary considerably depending on the school.
Students typically take seven to nine subjects, which must include the core subjects of English, mathematics and science (biology, chemistry, physics).
Optional subjects include humanities (history, geography), modern languages, the creative arts (art, music), STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) and sports.
Preparing for the IGCSEs
Historically, the GCSE had a greater amount of coursework in the syllabus compared to the IGCSE. This has changed in recent years and both qualifications are based mainly on the end-of-course exams.
The exams test theoretical knowledge, practical skills, problem-solving abilities and critical thinking skills – which are essential for further education as well as future careers.
Revision is key to retaining information and reinforcing understanding and should be done regularly rather than cramming all the content at the last minute.
Practicing past papers and taking mock exams will allow you to become familiar with the exam structure, improve your time management skills and discover any areas of weakness.
How can a tutor help with preparing for the IGCSEs?
A tutor can help at any stage of the process, whether it is over the two years of study or in the run-up to the exams.
GoStudent IGCSE tutors have experience in the specific subjects covered in the curriculum as well as a proven track record of success. They offer personalised lessons that can target problematic areas and can help create realistic and achievable study schedules that balance your time across the different subjects.
ICGSE tutors can also teach you effective study techniques. These will help you not only with the exams but in your future academic career.
If you are struggling with either the coursework or exam preparation, don’t delay seeking help. Feeling prepared and confident for your exams allows you to have a clear and focused mind - and achieve to your full potential.
Is private iGCSE tuition affordable?
Your child can get iGCSE tuition for as low as £21.99 per session. The price of each private tuition session depends on how regularly and for how long your child takes tuition with us. Book a free trial session with us and you can find out how affordable private tuition with GoStudent can be for you.
How many other levels does GoStudent offer other than iGCSE tuition?
As well as private iGCSE tuition, GoStudent can help your child with 11 other levels. Pick from many subjects including Spanish, Economics, French. And with GoStudent your child isn't tied into one level. If they are taking iGCSE tuition but then need support with a different level, we can help them get that support with a tutor specialised in that level.
How can your child benefit from iGCSE tuition?
The main reason that parents often start to look for a iGCSE tutor is to improve their child’s academic performance. It’s needless to say that tutoring will prepare your child for important exams and tests and address specific problem areas that they might have in a particular subject. Your child’s grades and understanding of the subject will improve when working with a tutor but there are also other benefits you might consider when deciding whether to opt for private iGCSE tutoring. Tutoring encourages self-directed learning. This means that your child will learn to take the initiative in their schoolwork, with the result that they will feel less overwhelmed or frustrated with school and more in control of their own learning. They will also learn study skills that will help them in life when it comes to university and beyond. Whether it’s learning to overcome obstacles in their studies, losing the fear of asking questions or even working on their social skills. Sign up for a free trial lesson to discover the benefits of tutoring for yourself.
Can my child take private iGCSE tuition online?
With GoStudent your child can get private tuition online from one of our iGCSE tutors. Online tuition is a great option for you and your child, meaning you don't have to take your child to a class or cover the cost of a tutor to come to your home.
