Hi, I'm Mona! A little about me; I tutor Primary and GCSE-level students in English. Right now, I'm more focused on GCSE students. I have in-depth knowledge in English literature from Shakespearean plays like Macbeth to War and Conflict Poems, and more. I'm fluent in English, write a lot, and I absolutely love creative writing so that comes in handy when guiding students through revision for the English Language Paper. I'm also familiar with exam boards such as AQA, Edexcel, and Eduqas. What I love most about my tutoring sessions is that from the onset, my students and I try to make learning not feel like a chore. We strive to not only achieve the educational goals we set out but we make it so that the main objective is to learn and understand, not just pass a test. I'm open-minded and firmly believe there is no such thing as a person who can't be taught. Each student is different from the next and all anyone really needs is the right kind of guidance. I am currently in University for my Bachelor's but I graduated from the equivalent of UK A-Levels with honours. My curriculum was English, Arts, and Humanities-centered so I had subjects such as Media and Information Literacy, Research Writing, Creative Fiction and Non-Fiction, Contemporary Art, etc. I used to write for a travel blog and was the assistant to the managerial editor of a newspaper company so I proofread, edited, and wrote articles a lot.

My journey as an engineering student has been full of exciting opportunities to apply maths and science to real-life projects. This fuels my enthusiasm when I teach, and I love sharing examples from my own work. Recently, I worked with TotalEnergies in France, exploring the valorization of desalination concentrate. One of my favorite projects was producing biodiesel from eggshells, which I showcase when discussing energy in physics. I also had a blast running STEM workshops in Dubai for kids. I'm an active member of AIChE and love participating in physics competitions. I won first prize in "Girls Got It" by building a mini robot with my team and creating a simple pendulum model. I'm passionate about science and STEM, and I strive to show my students how thrilling these subjects can be! My name is Karen, and I'm a dedicated tutor for maths and science. I've been tutoring for four years and hold a Master's degree in Industrial Chemistry and Petrochemical Engineering. I achieved A*/A grades at GCSE in mathematics and physics, and an A in A-Level maths. I've always enjoyed school and hope to share that passion with my students! I teach A Level maths and physics, and I also specialize in chemistry, French, maths, and physics at Lower Level and GCSE levels. I have a C1 level in French, a favorite hobby of mine since I started lessons at six. Over the years, I've become very familiar with the content and perfected my teaching methods to ensure the best results, no matter the time frame. Teaching is a true passion for me. It's incredibly fulfilling to help students achieve their goals, whether they love the subject or just need to pass.

"Hi Christine, Diarmuid here. I just got my results and I got the 2nd highest German grade you can get. You helped me so much and I can't thank you enough." Hello there! My name is Christine and I am a junior doctor. I have always been passionate about learning and sharing knowledge in a manner that's simple and enjoyable. With over 5 years tutoring experience, I focus on an engaging, holistic, and student-centric approach to tutoring, whilst sharing my passion and love for learning! I firmly believe the key to mastering anything is understanding the basics and then weaving them together to gain the bigger picture. I have worked diligently to hone my skils over the years, even applying them in my own studies in the medical field, and have been able to get testimonials such as the one above and: "Hi Christina only to let you know Felipe had a 6 in biology which is very good compared with the 3 in January! Hope we can work together from September. So, thank you x" - Pilar "Just to let you know Yousef passed all his GCSEs. Thank you." - Naz "Hii, it’s Mike. I just wanted to say thank you so much for helping me this year and I wouldn’t have done it without your help and support." During the sessions, I work with my students through the agreed upon topic paying close attention to the core concepts, we go through some exam-style questions, and also learn how to frame the answers in the way examiners expect. I also share effecting studying and memory techniques to enable them to better learn and master their content. In my spare time, I enjoy singing (I'm currently taking a music theory class and hope to progress to one day play the cello) and dancing. These help me unwind and also have fun! I look forward to extending this interesting mixture of fun and learning to my students and help the strike that oh-so-elusive balance between work and play so that they can become the best versions of themselves. Would you like to have similar testimonials as these? "hellooooo! hope your doing well. it’s the results day today, just letting you know that i got a 7 in german!! i am very happy with the results, thank you so much for all of your help i definitely wouldn’t have got this if it wasn’t for you 😁" - Shangami "Hello Christine, I hope you have had a good summer. GCSE: Sciences and Maths A-Level : Biology Exam Board Experience : AQA I am a current associate teacher in science studying for my PGCE after graduating Lancaster University with a degree in biomedicine, specialising in biogerontology at dissertation level and have experience in a hospital pathology lab. I have tutored for over 3 years now and in my spare time like to go on hikes in the Lake District I studied my GCSEs in the North-West of England and then went on to study A-level biology, chemistry and maths near the Lake District for a change of teaching style. After my A-levels, I went to study biomedicine at Lancaster University with a current interest in biogerontology and insulin/IGF-like signalling. This interest has led to me being currently in the process of being listed in my supervisor's research as an undergraduate author on the extension of lifespan in Drosophila through reduced IIS in serotonergic neurons. I am now an associate teacher in science, specialising in biology.

I offer multiple packages some of which include: - Get Ahead This Summer Package! - Go Back To School With A Bang! - The Summer Revision Package! - Polish Your Skills Over The Summer! - Get Ready For Your GCSEs Package! - Get A Head Start With Your GCSEs! - Get Ready For Your A-LEVELS Package! - Get A Head Start With Your A-LEVELS! I have five years experience of tutoring Maths and Physics. I have also taught A-level Maths lessons in a sixth form whilst a qualified teacher was observing the lesson. During this experience I learnt how to develop different explanations for the same concept on the spot and this has been a very useful skill. I use this experience during my lessons and am able to adapt to individual students quickly. I like to make my lessons interactive and write on an online whiteboard in real time so that the student can actively take notes. I use a stylus to write on an online whiteboard which allows the lessons to be more efficient. I emphasize understanding of a concept during my lessons, a high level of understanding will allow students to apply what they have learnt in their exams. I am currently a Theoretical Physics Student at Royal Holloway University of London and wish to become a Professor of Mathematic Physics. I am very good at simplifying difficult concepts and explaining them in a visual way, it is difficult to get this level of understanding in schools and I well help compensate this. I will use my years of experience study physics and maths to teach the concepts in the most efficient and useful way possible. I enjoy tennis, football, badminton and basketball. I've captained my school teams in Badminton and Cricket. I also enjoy running and aim to run the London marathon next year so I have to train very hard. Studied GCSEs in London where I obtained eight grade 9s, one grade 8, one grade 7, an A* in Further Mathematics and an A in additional mathematics. I also studied my A-levels in London where I obtained 3A*s and 2A's in Maths, Further Maths, EPQ, Physics and Chemistry respectively. I am currently studying Theoretical Physics at Royal Holloway University of London.

What is the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme?
The IB Diploma is a two-year educational programme for students aged 16 to 19. It encourages curiosity about the world and the development of critical thinking and problem-solving skills as well as providing an internationally accepted qualification for entry into higher education.
It aims not only to develop students’ knowledge in a range of subjects and disciplines, but helps them become confident, self-motivated and resilient global citizens.
The programme is composed of six academic subject groups along with the Diploma Programme (DP) Core. The DP Core requires students to reflect on the nature of knowledge in a course called Theory of Knowledge (ToK), participate in independent research to produce an Extended Essay (EE), and engage in extracurricular activities related to Creativity, Action and Service (CAS).
What subjects are covered in the IB Diploma Programme?
Subjects are offered at a Standard and Higher Level. Students must pass at least three subjects at Higher Level and a total of six from the following list:
Each subject is scored from 1-7, and up to 3 additional points may be awarded for the ToK essay and the EE. A minimum of 24 points is required to pass, with 45 points the maximum that can be achieved. The CAS does not count towards the final score but must be completed to earn the diploma.
In general, a score of 30 points or higher is considered enough to gain admission to many universities, with more selective universities requiring a score of 40 or higher.
How to get good results in the IB Diploma Programme
The IB Diploma is a rigorous academic programme which many students find challenging, which can lead to overwhelm, a loss of motivation and procrastination.
It’s vital to start early when it comes to preparing for the exams. Revising should ideally be done in short amounts daily and balanced across multiple subjects. Completing past papers will familiarise you with the types of questions asked and improve your exam technique.
Using an IB tutor is a sure path to success as they can teach effective learning strategies, help you gain a deeper understanding of the subject matter, and work with you to develop a realistic and achievable study schedule that will keep you on track throughout the year.
GoStudent has a range of IB tutors that have direct experience in teaching the curriculum and understand the assessment methods. They have a special focus on the Theory of Knowledge (TOK) essay and the Extended Essay, teaching the necessary skills and strategies to succeed in both as well as help across different subjects within the level.
