I have been teaching English online for over three-years now. This has included English as a foreign language and GCSE/ A level English literature and language. I graduated last year with a first-class degree in English literature and Language in Cardiff University and received a scholarship in my second year for being the best performing pupil in my cohort. English teaching has long been a passion of mine and my role has evolved to encompass academic writing support, something that I feel should be taught in school and is sought after by examiners across all exam boards. Medicine reject at A-level who decided to pursue biomedical sciences instead to explore several career routes in science. Upon further exploration through experiences in healthcare, decided to give medicine one more chance as a postgraduate degree and recieved an offer from Oxford for medicine. Interests include music, gaming and travelling. Tutoring GCSE and A-level Maths and Sciences for over 4 years helping over 40 students achieve their dream grades with a mean result improvement of 2 grades. I also assist in UK medical school admissions tests, personal statement writing and interviews (Oxbridge included). My teaching style heavily revolves around putting methods to practise by attempting several exam questions during lesson time. The goal is to familiarise yourself with exam techniques to the point where exam questions do not startle you. Everything man-made you can think of is the product of engineering. Because of this, knowledge is power, and with the right knowledge and tools, anyone can design anything. I aim to inspire students by making learning enjoyable, through a process that is at the student's pace - no pressure - and showing real-life applications in a topic to both prove its usefulness and to hopefully spark an interest in the subject. I will make sure that the student actually understands a topic so that they can not only answer standard exam questions easily but so that they can also use their solid knowledge of the topic to answer unfamiliar, "tricky" exam questions. I used to teach my juniors in university and have continued to do that after I have graduated. I love biology, especially genetics; an interest which I have pursued by completing an MSc in Molecular Medicine in Sudan. During my Molecular Medicine degree, I developed an interest in cancer, so I applied for- and got accepted into an MSc in Cancer Sciences at the University of Glasgow. This turned out to be one of the first decisions I have ever made, as it gave me a solid foundation upon which I am currently building my academic career. I have won a few awards so far, one of which is ‘Best Research Paper’ award, which was in recognition of my outstanding achievement and command of research by the end of my MSc in Molecular Medicine. I have been awarded a few grants and scholarships and have met former president Barak Obama as part of the programme I had on one of the leadership courses I undertook in the US.
