Hi! My name is Lucia and I am a 5th year Chemical Engineering student at the University of Aberdeen. I have 4 years of experience in tutoring students of all ages and SQA exam preparation. I sat Scottish exams (SQAs) and currently attend the University of Aberdeen for Chemical Engineering. I try to make lessons as engaging as possible and encourage students to be proactive, attempt problems on their own and ask a lot of questions!

I am an experienced Mathematics & Computer Science tutor. With my last cohort of students, I witnessed exponential improvements with students fluency and confidence. I have over three years experience in teaching. I have extensive teaching experience with students aged 5 – 18 and I have helped students to obtain the highest grades at KS1 – KS3 & GCSE. I can also provide coaching for career related advice and support with college and university applications. I hold an Enhanced DBS Certificate. As well as using published materials, I provide bespoke materials for students based on examination questions so that they are able to develop their mathematical or computer science fluency and problem-solving skills. At the end of each session, students receive detailed notes of work covered, either in Word, PowerPoint or Microsoft Whiteboard format. I aim to make my sessions engaging, bringing in interactive elements and whiteboards as much as possible especially for my younger students in order to create a simulated, real-life fun experience with each hour. I hold a 1st Class Degree in Computer Science from The University of Birmingham. I also completed Maths, Computer Science and Economics A-levels, attaining an AAB respectively. I also hold strong GCSE grades covering Maths, English, Science, History and particularly completing ICT at a a grade A*

I am punctual and dedicated to my work, so high quality lessons and consistency are something that will always be delivered. I love swimming and travelling, alongside watching shows like anime and K-dramas. I also love reading and doing exercise by going to the gym :) Currently, I am a Biology student at the University of Southampton studying topics from human biology, conservation management and evolution. I am 18 years old and am taking a gap year, looking to study Mathematics at Oxford. Outside of academics, I love to play sports, especially football and tennis which I play for local clubs. I am also a keen runner and am currently training for a half marathon. I achieved 4A*s at A level in Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. I also achieved a grade 9 in Mathematics at GCSE level. I have also participated in Mathematics Olympiads such as the UKMT's Senior Maths Challenge where I achieved a gold certificate.

Lower Level: Business Studies, English Literature GCSE: Business Studies, English Literature, English Language A-Level: Business Studies, English Literature Preferred exam board experience: AQA for both English and Business Studies, however, the Edexcel Business Studies course has a lot of crossover and therefore could teach this. Languages: German up to GCSE level. Preferred student age group: Primary Level and GCSE level however would be happy to teach up to A-Level for both subjects. From a young age I had a passion for teaching; setting up my dolls and teaching them about whatever I had learnt that day at school, now I have the opportunity to do that and see the results of what we have gone through. Throughout sixth form, alongside my A-Levels I would tutor the younger pupils and help them gain confidence and find enjoyment in learning. now at University, whilst I no longer have the opportunity to do this I now volunteer at the local hospital organising activity evenings for the patients there. Not only do I meet a variety of people here but it has also greatly improved my organisational skills and challenged my already creative brain to new lengths. When I get the chance to relax I do so by reading. I hope that I can incorporate my love for literature in my teaching to create memorable and long lasting connections through what I teach my students. I hope my passion for teaching can be seen through my lessons and will inspire those who I work with to achieve their personal and academic goals! Up until leaving school at 18 I attended The Priory Academy LSST. Here I completed my GCSEs, coming away with 12 GCSEs securing two 9s in English Literature and English Language. I decided to choose English Literature, Psychology and Business Studies as my A-Level options and completed the two years with an A* in Psychology, an A in English Literature and a B in Business Studies. Currently, I am in my first year at Durham University studying Psychology with an optional module in English Literature.
