I am currently an undergraduate student which makes me familiar with the new GCSE and A level examination system, giving me the advantage of guiding my students through this process. I have a particular passion when it comes to tutoring. I am happy to go over anything my students are struggling with. One of the most rewarding aspects of teaching is seeing the positive impact you can have on your students. Tutoring gives me the opportunity to help my students with their confidence as well as to inspire and encourage my students to achieve their goals and pursue their dreams. Hi, welcome to my profile! My name is Sarah and I'm passionate about helping students learn. I currently work as a primary school teacher, so I have experience using different tools, such as by incorporating visuals and movement activities to help children learn for all subjects. I believe that every child can achieve and that there is always a way to help children understand. For subjects that I tutor in: I teach maths at primary level and Psychology at secondary level. As a qualified primary school teacher, I also teach all subjects at primary level. I also have primary SEND experience for children with autism. Outside teaching and tutoring, I love to cook and bake! I also am a big fan of boardgames (not just monopoly!). I am a very creative person and love to sing, act and play the piano. I enjoy travelling when I'm able to and love to see the world. I definitely like to geek out on my favourite tv shows and love a good murder mystery. I hope you choose me as your tutor as I would love to help you on your journey :) I have a Primary PGCE and QTS, Early Years Teacher Status and a BSc Psychology Degree. This means I can teach children up to aged 11 in all subjects! I also have a TEFL and taught English in Cambodia to children aged 3-8 for a few months. I have a Pediatric First Aid Qualification. I am also grade 5 in singing, grade 8 in piano and grade 2 in drums. Also self-taught myself the recorder :)

What is Key Stage 2?
Key Stage 2 (KS2) is the term used to refer to the second stage of a child’s primary education and covers Years 3, 4, 5 and 6. Children are typically aged between 7 and 11 years old in KS2.
What subjects are covered at Key Stage 2?
Children are taught the following subjects:
Schools must also provide Religious Education, although parents can ask that their children are taken out of part or all the lessons.
The focus of Key Stage 2
Maths and English are the focus of Key Stage 2 as they are considered gateways to future learning. In English, children progress from reading with a focus on comprehension to grasping overall concepts through age-appropriate literature. They learn how to craft well-punctuated and structured sentences and express their ideas clearly. In Maths, children should be able to perform calculations with increasingly large and complex numbers, including long division and multiplication. They will also use measuring instruments like rulers and make connections between measurements and numbers. That’s not to say the other subjects aren’t important for a well-rounded education. For example, science covers the basics of biology, physics and chemistry, and an understanding of the world is introduced in history and geography. Computing is considered essential in today’s world.
Tests and assessment
Children take exams known as SATs (Standardised Assessment Tests) at the end of KS2 in the following subjects:
The SATS results are used to assess progress in English and maths and measure school performance.
How to choose a KS2 tutor
Key Stage 2 is a crucial stage in your child’s education as it builds a foundation in core skills and prepares them for the more demanding requirements of secondary education. If your child is struggling in one or more subjects or lacks overall motivation and confidence, it’s important to address these issues before they start falling behind in their learning. The SATs are culmination of work over the whole of KS2 and not just Year 6, so your child will benefit from tutoring at any stage. It’s important to choose an experienced KS2 tutor who can offer lessons adapted to your child’s specific needs and who will provide you with regular feedback on their progress. At GoStudent, our tutors offer adaptive learning, where lessons, readings and practice activities are personalised towards the individual child and based on their current skills and performance. They also offer interactive and engaging lessons that will keep your child’s interest – and could spark a love for learning that will last through their academic career and beyond.
Is private KS2 tuition affordable?
Your child can get KS2 tuition for as low as £21.99 per session. The price of each private tuition session depends on how regularly and for how long your child takes tuition with us. Book a free trial session with us and you can find out how affordable private tuition with GoStudent can be for you.
How many other levels does GoStudent offer other than KS2 tuition?
As well as private KS2 tuition, GoStudent can help your child with 11 other levels. Pick from many subjects including Geography, History, German. And with GoStudent your child isn't tied into one level. If they are taking KS2 tuition but then need support with a different level, we can help them get that support with a tutor specialised in that level.
