I'm currently in my third year of medical school, passionate about both my studies and helping others succeed. Hi, I’m Sophie! I love teaching Maths and English, and have experience in tutoring students from 11+ to A Level. I achieved straight 9s in my GCSEs and A*s and As in A Levels, and have a particular interest in the philosophy of mathematics. My lessons focus on breaking down challenging ideas into manageable, clear steps, while building the confidence and problem-solving skills needed to succeed in exams. First and foremost, I approach teaching with genuine enthusiasm and a passion for the subject, and I hope to inspire that same curiosity in my students. I think that gaining confidence is fundamental to succeeding in any subject: even those which can initially feel difficult or intimidating can become genuinely enjoyable once they are explained in the right way. I’m happy to tutor Maths from Key Stage 3 through to GCSE, helping students build confidence, strengthen their understanding, and prepare effectively for exams. For English, I tutor students from Key Stage 3 through to GCSE as well, including support with essay writing, analysis, and exam preparation. My academic background is science-focused, which medicine requires a strong foundation in. I apply this directly in my teaching.
