Hi, I'm Savannah Stanislaus, I'm 23 years old and I am a recent graduate from the University of Oxford with a BA in German. Over the years, I've tutored a variety of subjects in both individual and group settings, including English at GCSE and A Level, as well as a foreign language, German as a foreign language and A level, Debating and Philosophy A level. My approach to tutoring is one that is personal and based on the individual's goals and learning style, but generally I like to frame the content in a way that feels relatable to what the individual may already be aware of and build from there. Many of my former students have wanted to focus on exams, so I've mastered the ability to interpret exam questions and mark schemes and then frame the demands in a way that is accessible to the student. I have a BA in German from the University of Oxford. My degree was broad and focused not only on the German Language but also on Literature through time, history, medieval German Language, extensive translation, Linguistics, culture and politics in the German-speaking world. My main interests lie in Literature, Linguistics and Philosophy. My dissertation received a first class grade and was Philosophy-based with the title 'Is Ludwig Wittgenstein's distinction between 'Knowledge' and 'Certainty' as a critique of G. E. Moore and the field of philosophical scepticism, worthwhile?’

Hi there! I am an experienced and empathetic English Literature and Language tutor with over 5 years of experience and many success stories under my belt. I have experience teaching English Literature and English Language for the following levels and exam boards: A-Level— AQA, OCR, WJEC Eduqas; GCSE— AQA, OCR, WJEC Eduqas; Key Stage 3, as well as the 11+ exams. I'm also very interested in tutoring students at the undergraduate level. I only (fluently) speak English, and I do not have any SEN tutoring experience. My approach to tutoring is student centric, with a focus on developing skills via scaffolding. I encourage participation and employ multimedia learning tools when and where appropriate. Empathy and support are the cornerstones of a good classroom experience, so I am highly patient with all of my students and try to structure my tutoring to build on their schoolwork and complement their existing learning. My proudest moments are when something has 'clicked' for one of my students that they have previously struggled with in class! In my spare time, I (predictably) enjoy reading, walking and listening to podcasts, but I'm also an enthusiastic home cook, amateur forager and volunteer at a local art gallery. I have something of a tech-y side also, and I've been known to tinker with computers and play videogames (usually on the artsier side)! In 2021, I graduated from the English Master's programme at the University of Liverpool with a strong Distinction and a highly commended dissertation. I had also previously completed a BA at UoL, and received As and A*s in my English Literature A-Level and GCSEs. My Master's degree specialised in contemporary and modern literature, but I love Victorian, Renaissance and classic lit too! I'm a bit of a nerd for literary theory and poetry in particular (my MA dissertation even drew on my experience of teaching poetry to young people).

**SSH** Hi, I'm Sophie (she/her) ! I just graduated from a degree in English Literature, French and Dutch at the University of Sheffield with First Class Honours, and am currently training to be a speech and language therapist. I can't wait to share my passion for books, languages and everything in between! I have been tutoring for 4 years and am offering tutoring in English, French and History to A level. I finished my A Levels in summer 2021 so I completely understand not only the current exam system and latest revision techniques, but also how stressful school life can be, both inside and out of the classroom. My goal in becoming a tutor is to do my best to help you achieve your personal goals, whether you're aiming to simply pass a class or achieve the highest grade possible. Our sessions will be focussed around how to achieve your best- everyone's 'best' is different, but yours is what matters to me. Outside of studying, I am usually found relaxing and having a giggle with my friends, curled up with a good book (my favourites are usually fantasy or romances) and a cup of coffee, or dancing! I've also been vegan for six years and a huge animal lover. MSc Speech and Language Therapy (September 2025- June 2027) First Class Degree in English Literature and Modern Languages and Cultures (French and Dutch) (September 2021- June 2025) A Levels (achieved May 2021) A*: English Literature (AQA), French (AQA), History (Edexcel) A: Extended Project [English Language focus] GCSEs (achieved June 2019) 9: French (AQA), Combined Science 8: History (Edexcel), Religious Studies, Latin, English Language 7: English Literature (AQA), Mathematics

I am currently studying Medicine at the University of Plymouth. From a young age I have always enjoyed helping others as it brings happiness and joy to me. This is also the main reason why I wanted to become a tutor. In my spare time, I enjoy playing sports, particularly football and cricket. I have 2 younger brothers, so I am always entertained. I love talking and spending time with them. For secondary school, I attended the Oxford Spires Academy where I completed my GCSEs. For 6th form, I was accepted by The Cherwell School, where I completed my A-levels. At GCSE level science I achieved a grade 8/8 and at A-levels I achieved grades A in both Biology and Chemistry. In my first year of UCAS application, I did not receive any offers to study Medicine at University. However, towards the end of summer I came across an opportunity to study medicine through an alternative route. The University of Plymouth were offering a one-year transfer from Biomed to Medicine providing one achieved 3 As at A-levels, maintained a 70% pass rate across all modules in 1st year and passed the interview for Medicine. In the previous year only 2/23 applicants were successful in this route. Although this was intense, I was able to successfully transfer from Biomed to Medicine after the 1st year. This year I just completed my 1st year as a Medical student at the University of Plymouth

My name is Saffron, and I am a 2nd year Neuroscience student at the University of Manchester. Getting into this course at a Russel Group University required stellar GCSE and A Level grades which I was able to achieve through thorough and dedicated studies and personal teaching. I believe that active learning through frequent recall, question and answer sessions and flashcards is the best way to retain information. Combining this with practice paper questions from the start of teaching guarantees success. I am well versed in working with primary and secondary school students through 1 to 1 teaching and am committed to creating an interactive, personalised, and enjoyable lesson plan catered to every pupil's learning style. Hi there, my name is George and I developed a real passion for maths a science during my gcse years having not always been the biggest fan previously to this period and have found great fulfilment in developing my skills ever since. I now study physics at the university of Bristol and would not have got here if it wasn’t for some of my excellent teaching mentors so anything I can do to replicate this is an exciting opportunity for me. Having taken my exams so recently where I found some crafty shortcuts and developed easy strategies to assure me I could do well and guarantee me correct answers to certain questions that came up over and over again in previous years exams. All of which I really feel any student can implement to reduce at least some of the stress of these tricky years. I understand the importance of hobbies outside of the school work, with me personally enjoying all sports outside of my studies, particularly football, basketball and running. My GCSE qualifications came out at eight grade 9’s, two grade 8’s and a grade 7, with grade 9’s in my chosen subjects. I have A*’s in maths, physics and chemistry A-levels, taken in the 2023 summer series, so I am very comfortable with the OCR A syllabus for physics and chemistry, and the edexcel syllabus for both A-level and gcse maths.

What is Key Stage 4?
Key Stage 4 (KS4) comprises Year 10 and Year 11, when students are aged between 14 and 16. During this time they are working towards their GCSEs (General Certificate of Secondary Education), which are a gateway to further education and career paths.
What subjects are covered in Key Stage 4?
The national curriculum offers the following subjects:
Compulsory subjects that must be taken by all students are:
Schools must also offer at least one subject from each of these areas:
Academic students may be encouraged to take the English Baccalaureate, or EBacc. This is not a separate qualification, but a combination of six different GCSEs: English, maths, two sciences, a language and either history or geography.
Schools must also provide relationships, sex and health education and Religious Education (RE). Parents can ask for their children to be taken out of sex education lessons and all or some of RE lessons.
What is the focus of KS4?
The focus at KS4 is around preparing pupils for their transition to post-16 provision at the end of Year 11, for example A-levels, BTECs or the International Baccalaureate (IB).
Most students work towards national qualifications, usually their GCSEs. This is when they will start to study subjects that align with their strengths, interests and future goals, and at a greater depth than they have been able to before.
How to choose a KS4 tutor
Many students struggle with the one-size-fits-all approach often found in classroom settings. This can lead them to develop a negative mindset towards learning and a loss in confidence in their abilities. They can fall behind in their schoolwork and lose the motivation to put in the required effort to succeed.
KS4 tutors can provide targeted support in specific subjects where students may be struggling or need extra help to excel. This can be especially helpful if the student has special educational needs such as ADHD or dyslexia.
While most final exams take place at the end of Year 11, coursework and assessments are completed throughout the stage, so it’s important students always perform to their full potential.
GoStudent tutors have expertise in specific subject areas on the curriculum and offer a personalised approach tailored to individual needs, strengths, and weaknesses. They can close knowledge gaps, keep learning on track and help with exam preparation.
In addition, they can teach effective study techniques and time management strategies which can significantly improve performance, not only in KS4 but for the rest of the student’s academic career.
