I believe that this experience puts me in a great position to share my knowledge to help other students because I know what is needed in order to excel in these subjects. I always like to focus on what you as a student need help with to ensure that you get the most out of every lesson, and spend as much time making progress as possible I would describe myself as methodical and systematic and I think my teaching style reflects this. First, I like to ensure that there is an understanding of the key principles of the topic. Then I like to break questions down and look at the key steps in the method for that question type. I think that repetition is extremely important and the key to mastering a particular topic is encountering as many different variations of questions as possible. So this is what I will encourage. I have previous experience teaching other students from my school A-level maths concepts which they struggled with. While preparing for A-levels I created some resources that enabled me to achieve 4 A*s in the subjects above and have helped other students. I would be happy to share these and other strategies I used in preparation for exams. Outside of academics, I am a relaxed person and enjoy a wide range of sports, my favourites being football and basketball. I also enjoy reading and spending time with family. I have been teaching English online for over three-years now. This has included English as a foreign language and GCSE/ A level English literature and language. I graduated last year with a first-class degree in English literature and Language in Cardiff University and received a scholarship in my second year for being the best performing pupil in my cohort. English teaching has long been a passion of mine and my role has evolved to encompass academic writing support, something that I feel should be taught in school and is sought after by examiners across all exam boards. My students always achieve their goals through hard work, regular tutoring and lots of writing practice! I am currently a part-time Master's student of a TESOL and Education programme in Cardiff and my intention is to lecture this subject in the near future after my PHD. Alongside my own studying, I volunteer at an asylum-seeker charity 4 hours a week teaching adults basic skills such as digital literacy, English communication and life skills. Having grown up in Spain for half of my life (15 years) I have always had a passion for languages and travel. I speak English and Spanish bi-lingually and so decided to undergo a career change from sales and marketing to a career in teaching languages as I believe they are so important.
