Hello! My name is Najma and I study History at the University of Birmingham. I studied History, English Lit and Religious Studies at A-Level so I understand the stresses that come with essay-based subjects! Throughout my life, I have been taught by some incredible tutors and I hope that I can not only help you succeed in your exams, but also grow in confidence. I aim to make the sessions as relaxed as possible as I know how stressful school can get. My sessions will be tailored to you, ensuring that your academic needs are met. In order to find out what you want to work on, we can have a Trial session where we can get to know other as well as discussing your goals. From there, I will make a thorough lesson plan which specifically caters to you. During the sessions, an emphasis will be placed on exam techniques which will allow you to answer questions effectively. I will also offer useful revision tips and help you make resources (to spare you the chaos that is last-minute flashcard-making!) Levels and subjects I teach: GCSE History (Edexcel) GCSE English Language (AQA) GCSE English Literature (AQA) GCSE RE A-Level RE A-Level History (Edexcel) A-Level English Literature (Edexcel) Preferred student age group: Year 9-13 Currently a student at the University of Birmingham, studying History Achieved A*,A*,A* in A-Level English Literature (Edexcel), History (Edexcel) and Religious Studies (WJEC/Eduqas) Completed an EPQ and achieved an A* in it Achieved 3 Grade 9s and 4 Grade 8s at GCSE level

I am a dedicated mechanical engineering student at Queen Mary's University of London with a passion for mathematics. Since 2019, I have been sharing my love for math through tutoring, helping students grasp challenging concepts and achieve their academic goals. My deep understanding of math, combined with my practical experience as an engineering student, allows me to provide real-world insights into the subject. Whether it's algebra, calculus, or any math topic, I am committed to making learning an enjoyable and productive experience for my students. Let's work together to unlock your full math potential! I did my GCSEs at a Secondary School in South London where I got 9 in Maths, English Literature, Biology and Chemistry and 8 in Physics, History, Spanish and English Language. At A Level I received As in Maths, Chemistry and Physics. I am currently studying Mechanical Engineering (MEng) at Queen Mary University of London.

Hi! I'm Simon, a Chemical Engineering Graduate from the University of Manchester, with over three years of teaching and tutoring experience. For the past 3 years I have been running a tutoring business teaching mostly Maths and Science subjects from Year 7 to A-Level. I have also taught Maths and Languages at an international high school in Singapore, and a primary school in the UK. (+DBS) Available weekday evenings, from 5-8pm. Message me and I will be happy to juggle other commitments. I completed a Master of Engineering (MEng) in Chemical Engineering with Industrial Experience at the University of Manchester, an accredited pre-chartership qualification within the field. This rigorous program combined in-depth academic study with practical industry exposure, preparing me for a professional career in chemical engineering. The course covered a wide range of core modules, including Thermodynamics, Process Optimisation, and Fluid Mechanics, in which I achieved consistently high marks, graduating with a First-Class classification at the bachelor's level. Throughout the degree, I developed strong analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly through group-based design projects and hands-on laboratory work. These projects provided opportunities to apply theoretical knowledge to real-world, commercially relevant scenarios, fostering my ability to work effectively in collaborative, multidisciplinary teams. A key component of the program was a year-long industrial placement, during which I worked for a chemical distribution company. This experience allowed me to gain valuable insight into the commercial side of chemical engineering and build a practical understanding of supply chains, technical sales, and operations. It also enabled me to contribute meaningfully to the company’s work while developing essential workplace skills such as communication, project management, and adaptability. Since completing my degree, I’ve continued working with the same company, now in a professional capacity with a focus on sustainability. My final-year dissertation centred on sustainable surfactant research, which sparked a deeper interest in the environmental impact of chemical processes. This has led me to transition into a more corporate sustainability role, where I support the integration of sustainable practices across the business.

English GCSE - year 10&11 only Russian all levels I am an enthusiastic and devoted tutor. I am aware of different challenges that students face and I develop different strategies to help them to overcome them. There isn’t always an opportunity for students to ask questions and receive a lot of personal attention in the school classrooms, so I always encourage students to explain to me what they struggle with the most and which areas make the least sense, so they don’t go back to their school lessons still feeling confused and worried that they don’t understand something. In addition, I encourage them to think and analyse, I try to avoid giving answers, instead I help students find them themselves. I believe it’s such an important life skill. I consider each student’s strengths and weaknesses. I always strive to create a friendly and relaxed atmosphere in my online classroom. I build my relationship with everyone on mutual respect and trust. I prefer when students see me as a mentor, rather than a teacher, and I call our meetings “sessions”, rather than “lessons”. Hi I'm Katie. In my free time I like to be with my friends, as well as social events within university, such as out chem eng society! Also, I enjoy cooking and baking and coming up with new recipes and flavours, as well as sharing this to my friends; especially cakes! I'm currently a student at the University Of Birmingham studying chemical engineering. I have a strong passion for both chemistry and maths and i believe these supply the fundamentals for understanding how the world works and can be applied to any real life concept or problem. At school I achieved grade 9 and 8 in Maths and chemistry in GCSE, to then be followed by AA at A level. I also studied physics at a level where i achieved a grade B. I previously tutored younger students during my time at secondary school, this gave me an insight into the concepts that are often misunderstood and ways I can use my knowledge to overcome this, and i now have over two years of online tutoring experience. I look forward to sharing my knowledge and enthusiasm to students to help them progress within their subjects and ultimately make learning be engaging and fun.
