Exam Board Experience: - AQA, Edexcel, OCR, WJEC Preferred age group: All students up to GCSE. No A-Level students Hello There, My name is Edwin and I am a second-year University Student. I am currently studying a BSc in Computer Science and I love it! We have to use various different subject knowledge to program software, using programming languages. At University, as a hobby, I love playing table tennis and going for long walks (countryside areas) with my friends. This helps clear my mind and refreshes my mind. I know taking exams could be difficult and nerve-racking, but don't worry. I have also gone through the same experience. Therefore, I understand what you are going through. I will help you overcome any challenges you have with problems regarding exam-style questions and teach you some techniques that have helped me during exams. I have experience tutoring students since I have been a maths tutor for students in lower years at school and I have been teaching GCSE students for the past 2 years. We go through any difficult maths problems they were facing from their homework or classwork. Hope to see you soon! Edwin I am a university student currently studying computer science at Sheffield. I attained 10 GCSEs and 3 A-Levels from a secondary school based in London. I studied Maths, Physics and Computer Science for A-Levels. I have a strong understanding for maths and computer science, both being my favourite subjects to learn at school.

Hello! My name is Kiera and i have a first class degree in Modern History. I am still at university working towards my masters degree now! Like you when, i was in school i needed tutoring to build up my confidence and subject knowledge, and without the tutoring i had ,i truly do not think i would be where i am today- and have such a passion for learning. While i love learning- i am human and need some winding down time. My favourite hobby is exercise and second to that is cooking as it lets my creative side come out! Other hobbies of mine include: reading and travelling. I hope on gostudent i can support you with specific subject knowledge and introduce you to useful and EFFECTIVE ways to learn or revise. More importantly i want to help build up your confidence; often you know a-lot more than you think you do. But, if not, i can support you to getting to a place of assurance in your desired subject- we will work together to get you to a level you want to be. As a tutor i want to scrub up and polish the foundations you already have- which i am confident will bring closer to your target grade! I look forward to embarking on this journey with you!

My favorite subject at school was History, where I particularly enjoyed the process of undertaking extended research around a specific topic in my coursework components. In my spare time, I enjoy watching films and documentaries. As a student myself, I have also frequently watched academic documentaries that I look forward to recommending to students as an excellent way to expand contextual knowledge of a topic outside class in a compelling and enjoyable way! Teaching approach: My teaching approach involves planning and creating detailed lessons materials, synthesizing textbook material into bitesize information for young students to teach them in an enjoyable and interactive environment. Visual aids, practice questions and interactive activities (particularly for young students) are incorporated into each lesson and post-lesson feedback is provided to the parent/student, including all PowerPoint slides and other lesson materials used during the lesson and any homework if preferred. Additionally, academic progress is monitored via an initial key topic list (detailed on the first slide of the PowerPoint slides) which is updated after each lesson, including progress on individual focus areas of improvement for the student. Moreover, if the parent/student prefers, comprehensive reports of academic progress, topics covered and key areas of strength and improvement can be sent every two months. Tutoring experience - Tutor since September 2022 (taught 700+ lessons at GoStudent and Edumentors) with experience tutoring 50 students including 20 primary students (inc. Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology at West Virginia Wesleyan College (WVWC) - 4 years Master of Science Degree in Cellular and Molecular Biology at Georgia State University (GSU) - 2 years Teaching assistant (TA) for the biology department at GSU for 4 semesters at a biology laboratory course - 3 semesters Neuroscience research at the DKFZ in Heidelberg (Germany) with professor Hannah Monyer Currently doing a PhD in neuroscience at IRB Lleida located in my hometown, Lleida (Spain). Over 500 lessons taught to over 20 students in this platform Keen on helping students learn the necessary knowledge and skills to succeed in biology and chemistry for both A-level and GCSE exams My teaching experience includes teaching assistant position at a biology lab at Georgia State University (United States of America) for 4 semesters as well as teaching different techniques to lab groups at the institution I am currently enrolled in doing my PhD. I have also delivered over 500 lessons on this online platform to over 20 students seeking help for their GCSE, OCR, WJEC, and AQA A-level exam boards in both chemistry and biology. While my experiences both as a student and as a teacher have developed my communication skills by using the proper tone and terminology, I value the most having learned from the doubts and questions from my past students as well as having done many final past paper questions. Despite every student being different, experience helps tremendously. Some students are very advanced and prefer working on past paper questions by tackling some specific aspects of the exam board, while some others require a bit more work on some modules and require a session more akin to covering a variety of concepts. When teaching new concepts, I use self-made PowerPoint slides specifically designed to incorporate the knowledge required to succeed in the exam questions for that exam board. In these slides, I use a scaffolding teaching technique which is about covering fundamental learning outcomes prior moving towards the more advanced concepts. I also incorporate past paper questions in every lesson to ensure the student is engaging in proactive learning, and not simply passively listening to me talk for 50 minutes. Overall, my goal is to engage the student in his or her own learning by teaching them skills and by giving them greater focus in some areas of each module. A lot of concepts are covered in these exam boards but knowing where to place great emphasis surely fosters their learning. This is where experience teaching these exams really comes into play, and it will also help me quickly devise the best study plan for the student. To complement my online teaching sessions, I have a digital pad that enables me to quickly write notes, draw or paste diagrams to ensure the lesson is smooth and dynamic. Online teaching may seem, at first glance, limited in terms of being able to write notes, however, currently online learning has been greatly updated thanks to such devices. I am currently only teaching biology and chemistry from GCSE and A-level exams but not higher levels (i.e. not teaching university programs). Like many teachers, my personal preference are students that are keen on learning regardless of their starting point. However, I have taught students that needed motivation coming from me and I was able to help them significantly. I will be happy to answer any questions that may concern you in the trial session if these were not answered in this introduction or by any GoStudent agent.

I am an undergraduate student at Bayes Business School with a passion for tutoring and education. After completing my O and A levels, I realized the importance of personalized academic support in making a smooth transition between educational stages. I firmly believe that having access to tailored tutoring during my own studies would have greatly enhanced my confidence and academic performance. Since the beginning my tutoring journey, I have worked with students ranging from KS2 to A-Level and university-level subjects, helping them not only understand challenging concepts but also build their confidence in learning. My teaching style balances formality with a student-centered approach, tailoring lessons to each student’s preferred learning style—whether visual, auditory, or hands-on. I strive to make learning engaging and interactive, ensuring that students look forward to lessons rather than viewing them as an extension of school. My goal is to create an environment where students feel encouraged, supported, and motivated to achieve their best. With over four years of professional tutoring experience, I have successfully guided students across various exam boards, including GCSEs, IGCSEs, AQA, EdExcel, WJEC, and OCR. My expertise spans multiple subjects, such as Accounting, Maths, English Language, English Literature and Business Studies, allowing me to provide well-rounded academic support. I am committed to continuing this journey, helping students overcome challenges, strengthen their skills, and reach their full potential. I am pursuing a BSc (Honours) in Business Management at Bayes Business School, City, St. George’s, University of London, with an expected graduation in July 2025. Before university, I completed my O levels and A levels in Pakistan and did a Foundation course in Business and Economics with Accounting at INTO City, London. I also broadened my academic experience with a semester abroad at the University of Texas, Austin. My specializations lie in marketing, strategy, business communication, management, and business innovation. Through both my academic and professional experiences, I have developed a well-rounded skill set that positions me well for roles in marketing, business development, and strategic management.

The boys enjoyed it but struggled after their first tutor left and lost their enthusiasm,no homework and the improvement in school is not a lot. I tried to prepare them for 11+ but they are not there at all.Communication is not great either. I later received a phone call from a lovely gentleman and all my concerns were dealt with appropriately. Thank you for listening to me ❤️
