I am an engineering university student with a diverse educational background from different countries. Owing to my diverse experience, I am able to teach using varied curricula, adopt different systems, and incorporate appropriate approaches to meet the needs of the students. I am still a student, so I have first-hand experience with what students require from a student's perspective. Although I have around 3 years of experience working as a part-time tutor, both online and physical, I have been tutoring as a volunteer for about 8 years now. I have worked with students from different parts of the world of all levels and ages. Aside from teaching as a career, I am passionate about it because I aspire that "learning should be fun." I teach because I love it, because I enjoy it, and because I want to help the student improve in the most amusing way possible. As the saying goes "if you do what you love, you will do it with passion," and I am here to help the students realize that they love learning. I began my lower-level studies in Tanzania (my home country), where I picked up the British educational system. I later received a scholarship to study abroad as an exchange student, moved to the US to complete part of my high school there, and then returned to Tanzania to finish my A-levels. At this point, starting with the modest volunteer programs I was taking part in in Tanzania, this is when I first learned about teaching. I was awarded another scholarship to Turkey to start my bachelor's in engineering. And this is when I started teaching as a part-time profession, taking it to the next level. I currently live in Lithuania as an Erasmus student and am constantly exploring new adventures and experiences as a teacher through different youth programs and volunteer camps. Likewise, I can't wait to embark on a new journey with you.

Levels and Subjects I teach Lower Level: All Sciences, Maths and English GCSE: Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Maths, Business Studies, Accounting and Economics A-level: Business Studies, Accounting and Economics Exam Board Experience: AQA, Edexcel, WJEC, OCR, 11+ Languages: English fluent Preferred student age group: Primary, GCSE, A-Level About me: Hi there! My name is Abdurrehman and I am a Business student at the University of Salford. My friends describe me as hardworking, dedicated and focussed. Business and Economics has a huge importance in my life, not only because of its link to my career, but because of an interest I have in me. Having attained AAB in my A Levels and 8s and 7s in GCSEs, I have developed from an outstanding student to an incredible tutor. In high school my Maths teachers always applauded my excellent problem solving and maths skills as I acheived an 8 in GCSE, and I am looking forward to sharing these tips with students of my own. I enjoy teaching science because, apart from being great at it in my GCSEs, i like how vast the subjects are and how ever evolving they are. From my own journey, there has been many instances where I have taught myself content because the way the teacher taught me I just didn't understand. This made me an independent learner and encouraged me to reach my highest potential - not to mention all the amazing tips and tricks I discovered and am excited to pass on to my students too. I have a vast experience of teaching, from volunteering experiences to jobs in different settings with tutoring - which helped me fine tune my teaching skills and made me really adaptable to different teaching styles. As a young tutor, the age gap between me and my students will be relatively small and will allow me to understand them much better, as well as make the lessons more fun and engaging as I know how to meet their needs. Currently completing International Business Management BSc Degree at the University of Salford A - Level A - Accounting A - Business Studies B - Economics GCSE 8 - Maths 7 - Biology 7 - Chemistry 7 - Physics 7 - Religious Studies 7 - Business Studies 7 - English Literature 6 - English Language 6 - History

Hi! My name's Rebecca, and I am a soon-to-be PhD Student, specialising in computational chemistry. I have just finished an integrated master's in Natural Sciences at Cambridge, meaning I've studied Physics and Chemistry at a university level. I have experience supporting university admissions, where I volunteered on open days, school visits, and summer schools throughout my undergraduate studies. A big part of this was small group teaching of year 12s, where we started at A-level content and developed to first-year undergraduate topics. I have also worked as a mentor on Cambridge's STEM SMART programme for Year 12 students. This widening participation program focused on pastoral support for students from low-income backgrounds looking to apply to top universities in the STEM subjects. I am a tutor because I love teaching just as much as I love science, but also because the current A-level system doesn't show you how valuable the knowledge you learn is to the field. I am hoping that together, we'll not only get the grade you want but that I'll also help you appreciate how important the things you learn are in the world of science! My tutoring style focuses on visual learning and understanding the basics rather than relying on memorisation. I focus on helping you grasp the core principles and building up from there. When you truly understand the fundamentals, you can confidently approach any question because you know how it all fits together. Understanding is only one part of the process; practice makes perfect. We'll also focus on exam technique, specifically what the examiners from your exam board want from you and how best to approach the exam. In my spare time, I love to cook, paint and sew! I currently tutor Maths GCSE and A-level. I do not tutor 11+ or SATs. ----------------- I’ve always loved maths and science. I took two additional maths qualifications during my GCSEs and regularly competed in UKMT challenges. At A-level, I studied Maths, Further Maths, Chemistry, and Physics, which is where I realised my real passion lay in the physical sciences. I went on to study Natural Sciences at Cambridge, a broad and rigorous course that allowed me to explore a wide range of scientific subjects before specialising. I took Physics, Materials Science, Chemistry, and Applied Maths in my first year. In second year, I continued with Chemistry and also studied the History and Philosophy of Science (a bit of a wildcard choice, but one I found genuinely fascinating). I eventually specialised in Chemistry, focusing mainly on theoretical and quantum chemistry, a field that merges the logical structure of physics with the molecular insight of chemistry. I graduated with a 2.1 in my undergraduate degree and decided to stay on for a fourth year to complete my integrated Master’s. My final-year research was in computational chemistry, where I simulated how proteins behave under different conditions. This work sat at the interface of chemistry, physics, and biology, allowing me to apply concepts from across the sciences. It was fully computer-based (a massive plus - I’ve never been a fan of lab work!) and I was proud to finish the year with a First. I loved the experience so much that I wasn’t quite ready to leave academia. I’m now about to begin a PhD at King’s College London, researching novel bio-based materials (ideally with minimal time spent in the lab)! My undergraduate journey wasn’t without challenges. Cambridge is tough, and I was diagnosed with dyslexia after receiving unexpectedly low marks in my first-year exams. My performance steadily improved as I learned how to work with my learning style. I’ve always been a visual and hands-on learner, which likely explains why Chemistry felt so natural to me. My academic ups and downs have deeply influenced how I approach tutoring - I understand what it’s like to struggle despite working hard, and empathy helps me support my students more effectively. I believe that learning should be about building accurate understanding, not just memorising facts, and I strive to make that a reality in every session I teach.

I would say that I specialise in Maths and Science as subjects.

Maths tutoring to improve grades and self-confidence
Poor performance in maths is often due to low self-confidence rather than a lack of effort, and the current school system can underestimate just how much this can affect academic success.
An online maths tutor can offer one-to-one lessons tailored to your child’s needs, addressing any areas that need extra support or revision and allowing them to work at their own pace. Maths tutors can also help with homework, and as they are outside the traditional school system they can adapt their teaching style to suit the individual student. This leads to improved understanding, which builds confidence and results in better grades.
Maths exam preparation and maths revision classes

Maths homework help
Maths homework helps students learn new concepts they will use in the future as well as develop good study skills and habits. Keeping on track with the rest of the class leads to more enjoyable lessons, improved self-confidence and better results.
The advantages of studying maths
Mathematics is a subject in numerical sciences that includes algebra, calculus and basic arithmetic. It develops critical thinking, which involves checking conclusions and results to ensure that they are founded on sufficient data and sound reasoning.
A widely-held misconception is that a maths degree is only useful if you intend to teach. However, those with maths degrees have access to exciting and fulfilling career opportunities in a wide range of fields including economics, financial analysis, software development and medical science.
Employers understand that if you can perform arithmetic, you can do any job that requires exact analysis and deductive reasoning.
What topics can be covered in online maths classes with a qualified tutor?
