Teaching available options KS2: Maths KS3: Science and Maths GCSE/ iGCSE: Chemistry, Biology and Maths A-level: Chemistry Exam Board teaching history: AQA, Edexcel, OCR 3+ yrs teaching and mentoring experience (online and in-person) Hello! My name is Aisha I studied Biology, Chemistry, and Sociology at A-level and am currently an undergraduate Optometry student, which keeps me deeply engaged with scientific concepts on a daily basis. This strong academic foundation allows me to teach both subjects with clarity, confidence, and real-world relevance. I am a dedicated and compassionate tutor that has a heavy background in teaching students Biology, Chemistry, Science and Maths. I focus on helping students build a strong understanding of the topics they may be struggling followed by sufficient and plentiful exam application practise to help build confidence for exams. All students learn differently, so I tailor my methods to suit each student’s unique needs, ensuring they leave with a solid understanding of the subject they initially struggled with. Whether a student needs help building foundational skills, catching up, or reaching higher levels of achievement, I create a supportive environment where they feel encouraged, understood, and motivated. My style is interactive and flexible—I use strategies to make challenging concepts easier to grasp and lessons more engaging. From breaking down harder problems to celebrating small wins, I focus on building confidence and independence in every learner. I'm patient and understanding, always taking the time to listen, adapt, and ensure my students feel safe to ask questions and make mistakes as part of the learning process. Qualifications: Optometry Student Certificate of Higher education with modules: -chemistry (A) -Maths (A) - Biology (B) A-levels: Chemistry (B) Sociology (B) Biology (C) GSCEs: Biology (8) Chemistry (8) Physics (8) Maths (7) English Literature (8) English Language (8) Geography RS Business My in-depth understanding of these subjects allows me to explain even the most challenging topics in a way that makes sense to students. I focus heavily on building core understanding, improving exam technique, and boosting confidence—especially in areas students often find overwhelming, like mechanisms, reaction pathways, and applied problem-solving. I’ve previously worked as a tutor online and completed a Teaching and Mentoring Programme in person specifically designed for supporting GCSE Chemistry students. My teaching style is clear, structured, and supportive. I make complex ideas simple and use relatable examples to help students connect with the material. Whether a student is aiming for top grades or trying to gain confidence in the basics, I provide a patient, focused, and motivating environment for them to learn and succeed. I want students to have a tutor that understands their needs and and does everything possible to help them get to where they need to be. I hope to be that tutor to all of my students! If you're looking for a tutor that will help develop your confidence and ability in these subjects, I’d love to help!

--- About Me! --- I'm Danny, a 4th year physicist at the University of Edinburgh, currently undergoing a research year abroad working on a thesis at GSI/FAIR, a facility for high energy physics. My work involves a lot of programming, knowledge of physics, and application of engineering and design principles. I love inspiring others and talking about my subject, so any student who comes my way will hopefully leave feeling confident, ready for common exam questions, and most importantly, wanting to learn more beyond their curriculum. I play the violin to a diploma standard, love trying out new cooking recipes (sometimes with disastrous consequences), and really enjoy mountain sports, like climbing and hiking. --- My Education --- As mentioned above, I am a physicist at the University of Edinburgh on a year in industry at GSI. I am working on the upcoming DIRC particle detectors for the PANDA project and the EIC at Brookhaven (google these things, in my opinion they are very cool). This research of course involves knowing a bunch about programming, mathematics and physics! I achieved 4 A* grades at A-Level, in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Music, with the WJEC exam board. For these grades, I abused my poor printer, drilling past paper questions endlessly, so I am very familiar with this specific curriculum. However, mathematics and physics are very similar across all exam boards. There are common questions in every exam, and your child will become familiar and confident with these questions with me, ideally able to reproduce 'stock answers' with a high level of understanding and speed. This saves time in exams and guarantees easy marks; this is a major step in reducing exam anxiety, and one of the main strategies I used to achieve my marks. I taught a STEM program at a US summer camp. It was much more of a 'for fun' thing, so we focused on making classes lightweight and enjoyable, rather than drilling worksheets and past paper questions. As such, I won't exclusively bore tutees to death with math problems! I pride myself on being able to break down concepts into simple to understand analogies. I am also a huge advocate for using past questions as revision material. However, I recognise the importance for students to balance time spent on questions with going over textbook concepts.

My tutoring style is tailored to each exam board, integrating content thoroughly to ensure students are well-prepared and equipped to succeed in exams. I have been tutoring GCSE and A-Level students across a range of subjects and abilities over 3+ years, including Maths (all exam boards, GCSE), English Literature (all exam boards, GCSE & A-Level), English Language (all exam boards, GCSE), Sociology (AQA, GCSE & A-Level), Psychology (AQA, GCSE & A-Level), and Biology (all exam boards, GCSE). I combine strong academic knowledge with practical tutoring experience to help students strengthen their understanding, develop critical thinking, and excel in assessments. I also have a strong interest in neuropsychology, cognitive psychology, and the intersection of law and intellectual property, which allows me to bring real-world context and a deeper understanding to the topics I teach. I’m also committed to promoting ethical thinking and equal access to education in my free time. I’m a MA Philosophy and Psychology student at the University of Glasgow, having completed my first year with 83%. I’ve also taken courses in Archaeology during my first and second years. I studied in Singapore for secondary and high school, so I am familiar with the British O level and A level syllabi, which are used in Singapore with minor variations. Currently I am studying social sciences in second year at Sciences Po Paris campus of Le Havre and the program is in English. I have been teachign English language and grammar, Mathematics, History, and Biology to students up to secondary level both online and offline for the past 2 years. I am a passionate and patient teacher dedicated to making learning enjoyable and rewarding to my students. In my spare time, I write and produce for a podcast and a campus newspaper in English, and I'm in the orchestra of Le Havre as a violinist. My first language is Mandarin. Research Experience: I had research attanchment at Nanyang Technological University before coming to France for my University, under the Biochemistry department. I also interned at the Singapore Environmental Agency under the Wolbachia project for dengue control. This experience gave me a 3-month laboratory working experience with leading biologists and bio-engineers in the field of infectious disease control, which made me interested in the public health sector and related social policies.
