Hi! I’m Emilia, a Maths and Physics tutor with a strong academic background and a passion for helping students gain confidence in STEM subjects. I studied Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry at A-level, and recently completed my BSc in Mathematics and Physics. I’m now continuing my studies at the University of Cambridge, where I’m pursuing a Master’s (MPhil) in Data Intensive Science. I’ve been tutoring for the past two years, working with students of all ages and abilities, from primary school through to A-level. Hi! I'm Tom, 22 years old, and currently a student at the university of Birmingham studying chemical engineering at a masters level. I'm very enthusiastic about anything maths and science, bringing practical engineering application to life. I live in the heart of north wales, love to swim and play football. I attended the Kings school Chester for both secondary school and sixth form. I obtained seven grade 9's, two grade 8's and an A* in further maths (10 A*s in old money). At sixth form, I obtained an A* in maths and chemistry, and an A in physics at A level. I then went on to study chemical engineering at the University of Birmingham, averaging a first-class honours degree in my first three years. Hi! My name is Hridita and I am currently a medical student. I have around 6 years experience tutoring students from KS1 to GCSE level. I mainly focus on teaching Biology, Chemistry and Physics because these are the subjects I enjoy the most and have gained the experience teaching. I’m a 4th-year medical student who enjoys finding a balance between academics and creativity. When I’m not studying or working on university projects, I love going to the beach to surfing. I also enjoy being on stage and taking part in theatre productions, as acting allows me to express myself in a completely different way. In quieter moments, I like to dabble in a bit of art through painting and crafts, and more recently I’ve started learning how to crochet, which has been both fun and rewarding. Hi, I’m Maja! (Pronounced Maya). I’m an astrophysics postgrad and a qualified secondary school science teacher. I’ve been through the full rollercoaster of science education, from fighting my way through a master’s degree and emerging with first-class honours, to teaching Year 9s on a Friday afternoon who would rather be anywhere else. Now I help GCSE and A-Level students believe what I already know: you can do this. My goal is to make science feel understandable, interesting, and even a bit fun. When I’m not teaching, you'll find me hanging upside down on an aerial hoop, or writing stories inspired by science and folklore. I went to secondary school in Hungary, where I was initially more interested in the humanities, until I fell in love with space and modern physics. For my leaving qualifications, I completed Advanced Exams in Mathematics and Physics and achieved an A. At university, I completed an integrated Master of Physics degree at the University of Southampton. My first three years focused on general physics (including lab work, mechanics, quantum physics, solid state physics, and wave physics) with a few modules of astronomy. During my master’s year, I had the incredible opportunity to conduct research at the Harvard & Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics, where I studied the relationship between black holes and their host galaxies and wrote my thesis on this topic. I graduated with first-class honours in Astrophysics. After university, I felt drawn to education and wanted to help students grasp the beauty of science, so I completed a year of school-centred initial teacher training. I now hold a PGCE with QTS as a qualified science teacher.
