Hi, I’m Udit! I’m currently working as a Lecturer in Medical Sciences at the University of Lancashire. I hold a PhD in Chemistry and was awarded the prestigious Marie Curie PhD Fellowship — a highly competitive international research scholarship. I also have a Master’s degree in Chemistry (with Distinction) and a First Division Bachelor’s in Chemistry. Over the past ten years, I’ve taught Science at GCSE, A Level, and undergraduate levels. I previously taught at Bedford College, where I worked closely with students studying for AQA and OCR exams. I now teach undergraduate Chemistry at university level, and I’m passionate about helping students build a deep and lasting understanding of the subject. In my lessons, I focus on strengthening core concepts so students can approach more complex ideas with confidence. I like to begin by working through a few basic questions to identify areas of focus, and then tailor the lesson accordingly. My sessions usually include discussion, problem-solving, and past paper practice, always with your goals in mind. I’ve been tutoring online for several years and really enjoy the flexibility and focus it offers. Whether you’re preparing for exams, tackling the UCAT, or simply want to feel more confident with Science, I’d be happy to support your learning journey. Let’s work together to unlock your potential! I completed my school and sixth form education at St Paul’s Church College in Agra, India, where I achieved strong grades in science subjects, particularly Chemistry and Biotechnology. I then studied for a BSc in Chemistry and Zoology, graduating with Honours in Chemistry, and went on to complete an MSc in Chemistry with distinction at Dayalbagh Educational Institute, India. Later, I moved to the UK to pursue a PhD in Chemistry at the University of Lancashire. My doctoral research focused on improving the stability of materials used in solar panels and electronic devices. Through this, I gained hands-on experience with advanced laboratory methods and international research facilities. Alongside my academic background, I have taught science across various levels. I previously taught GCSE Science, A Level Chemistry, and Applied Science courses at Bedford College, where I also led the T Level Science programme and supported curriculum development. I now work as an Associate Lecturer in Medical Sciences at the University of Lancashire. My main area of expertise is Chemistry, particularly physical and inorganic chemistry, but I also have a solid understanding of Biology and experience supporting students across all science disciplines. My tutoring style is calm, clear, and tailored to each learner’s needs, whether you're preparing for GCSEs, A Levels, or looking for extra support at university level. I aim to help students build confidence, develop a deeper understanding of science, and succeed in both exams and future studies.

Hello! I'm a passionate and dedicated tutor currently pursuing my MSc in Financial Mathematics at the University of Birmingham. Previously, I was working full-time as a Quantitative Analyst at a Market Maker / Hedge Fund and spent time working in Venture Capital also. My journey into the world of advanced mathematics has been driven by a relentless desire to understand complex systems from the ground up, a mindset I'm excited to share with my students. My academic foundation is a BEng in Electrical & Electronic Engineering from the University of Southampton, but my learning truly accelerated during my 13 months in my previous role at a fast-paced market maker. This experience was a crucible, teaching me not just the theory but how to apply mathematical and computational skills under intense, real-world pressure. It's this unique blend of academic rigour and practical, hard-won experience that shapes my teaching. I know what it feels like to grapple with challenging material, and I believe that anyone can achieve mastery with the right guidance and a resilient mindset. My goal is to be more than just a tutor; I aim to be a coach and a mentor, helping you build not only your knowledge but also the confidence and problem-solving skills to succeed in your exams and beyond. Hi! My name's Rebecca, and I am a soon-to-be PhD Student, specialising in computational chemistry. I have just finished an integrated master's in Natural Sciences at Cambridge, meaning I've studied Physics and Chemistry at a university level. I have experience supporting university admissions, where I volunteered on open days, school visits, and summer schools throughout my undergraduate studies. A big part of this was small group teaching of year 12s, where we started at A-level content and developed to first-year undergraduate topics. I have also worked as a mentor on Cambridge's STEM SMART programme for Year 12 students. This widening participation program focused on pastoral support for students from low-income backgrounds looking to apply to top universities in the STEM subjects. I am a tutor because I love teaching just as much as I love science, but also because the current A-level system doesn't show you how valuable the knowledge you learn is to the field. I am hoping that together, we'll not only get the grade you want but that I'll also help you appreciate how important the things you learn are in the world of science! My tutoring style focuses on visual learning and understanding the basics rather than relying on memorisation. I focus on helping you grasp the core principles and building up from there. When you truly understand the fundamentals, you can confidently approach any question because you know how it all fits together. Understanding is only one part of the process; practice makes perfect. We'll also focus on exam technique, specifically what the examiners from your exam board want from you and how best to approach the exam. In my spare time, I love to cook, paint and sew! I currently tutor Maths GCSE and A-level. I do not tutor 11+ or SATs. ----------------- I’ve always loved maths and science. I took two additional maths qualifications during my GCSEs and regularly competed in UKMT challenges. At A-level, I studied Maths, Further Maths, Chemistry, and Physics, which is where I realised my real passion lay in the physical sciences. I went on to study Natural Sciences at Cambridge, a broad and rigorous course that allowed me to explore a wide range of scientific subjects before specialising. I took Physics, Materials Science, Chemistry, and Applied Maths in my first year. In second year, I continued with Chemistry and also studied the History and Philosophy of Science (a bit of a wildcard choice, but one I found genuinely fascinating). I eventually specialised in Chemistry, focusing mainly on theoretical and quantum chemistry, a field that merges the logical structure of physics with the molecular insight of chemistry. I graduated with a 2.1 in my undergraduate degree and decided to stay on for a fourth year to complete my integrated Master’s. My final-year research was in computational chemistry, where I simulated how proteins behave under different conditions. This work sat at the interface of chemistry, physics, and biology, allowing me to apply concepts from across the sciences. It was fully computer-based (a massive plus - I’ve never been a fan of lab work!) and I was proud to finish the year with a First. I loved the experience so much that I wasn’t quite ready to leave academia. I’m now about to begin a PhD at King’s College London, researching novel bio-based materials (ideally with minimal time spent in the lab)! My undergraduate journey wasn’t without challenges. Cambridge is tough, and I was diagnosed with dyslexia after receiving unexpectedly low marks in my first-year exams. My performance steadily improved as I learned how to work with my learning style. I’ve always been a visual and hands-on learner, which likely explains why Chemistry felt so natural to me. My academic ups and downs have deeply influenced how I approach tutoring - I understand what it’s like to struggle despite working hard, and empathy helps me support my students more effectively. I believe that learning should be about building accurate understanding, not just memorising facts, and I strive to make that a reality in every session I teach.

Hi there, My name is Dan and I have taught over 1000 sessions for Gostudent with great parental feedback. I am able to give students tasks that get them thinking and responding as if there were in class or an exam without getting them to realise that they are doing this. This means they are more engaged and students, who maybe are struggling, see that they can succeed. I am also able to engage with parents and students at the same, making it clear to Parents what has been achieved. I primarily work with GCSE and A-Level Students, but do also have experience with KS3. I have been studying my PhD at the University of Liverpool, and prior to that I did my MA and BA at University of Newcastle. I studied A-Levels at Richard Huish College in Somerset. I have always been trying to take on new tasks and new qualifications, which at the moment has taken the form of studying German, French, Latin and Ancient Greek.

What are the SATs?
The SATs (which stands for ‘Standardised Assessment Tests’) are exams conducted in state primary schools in Year 6, when students are 11 years old. They are designed to assess knowledge and understanding of the national curriculum in both English and mathematics.
The SATs measure how much progress a child has made at primary school and their readiness for secondary school. They are also a way to measure schools, ensuring they have met educational standards.
Your child will receive a scaled score between 80 and 120 for each test completed. A score of 100 (or more) means they have met (or exceeded) the expected standard. While your child cannot fail their SATs, they can underachieve by not reaching the expected standard.
**What subjects are covered in the SATs? **
The English SAT tests reading comprehension, grammar, punctuation and spelling. The maths exam assesses mathematical knowledge and problem-solving skills in areas such as arithmetic, geometry and algebra.
Pupils no longer sit a science SAT. Instead, their understanding is assessed by teachers against the national standards.
Why are the SATs important?
The SATs show the progress your child has made throughout their primary education. It is essential that they have a core understanding of all the topics covered as they are the foundation for learning throughout their school career.
They are also an introduction to formal exams, which can be helpful when it comes future exams such as GCSEs.
Almost all secondary schools group children into sets or streams based on their academic ability, and SATs results may be used as part of the decision-making process, as well as for making future grade predictions.
Preparing your child for the SATs
Some children find the prospect of the SATs stressful and worry that they will let their parents and teachers down if they don’t perform well. Preparation is vital if they are to approach the exams with confidence and perform to the best of their abilities.
A SATs tutor can offer one-on-one support that is personalised to your child’s needs as well as provide a structured study plan with a focus on any learning gaps.
At GoStudent, we will match your child to an experienced SATs tutor with an excellent understanding of the material that they are teaching and a proven track record of success.
The SATs tutor can provide guidance on the exam format, supply revision materials and practice tests, and provide detailed feedback on progress. They can also work with your child on their time management skills by asking them to sit a practice test under timed conditions.
They will work with your child to create positive learning experiences that will have effects far beyond their SATs exams and set them up for a smooth transition to secondary school.
Is private SATs tuition affordable?
Your child can get SATs tuition for as low as £21.99 per session. The price of each private tuition session depends on how regularly and for how long your child takes tuition with us. Book a free trial session with us and you can find out how affordable private tuition with GoStudent can be for you.
How many other levels does GoStudent offer other than SATs tuition?
As well as private SATs tuition, GoStudent can help your child with 11 other levels. Pick from many subjects including Italian, Latin, Spanish. And with GoStudent your child isn't tied into one level. If they are taking SATs tuition but then need support with a different level, we can help them get that support with a tutor specialised in that level.
What are the benefits of private SATs tutoring for your child?
There are many reasons why parents decide to hire a private tutor for SATs tutoring. Some parents fear that they don’t have the knowledge to help their children with their homework or exam preparation. Others might not have the time to sit with children and work through homework. Our SATs tutors can take away this stress by helping your child consolidate what they have been learning in school, working through their homework with them and building their confidence ahead of their exams.
