Hi, I’m James Farrow and I am 18 and studying at LSE. My course is pretentiously named International Social and Public Policy with Politics and it encapsulates my adoration for all things maths, politics and economics and I would love the opportunity to pass on my interests to others. I tutor GCSE Maths and A-level Politics Exam board experience: Edexcel and AQA I have experience tutoring KS3 and sixth-form (11-18) My main aims as a tutor are to engage students with content that challenges them in a rewarding way, but also connect them to content that facilitates a change in their mindset. My hobbies range from poker and chess to schooling my friends at the pool table. They would say I’m competitive but that’s an advantage as it means I strive for greatness and even I fail the process and its lessons are invaluable. To grow academically requires set-backs and knowing how to respond appropriately is vital. That along with a quality education is what I am to instil in your student. I’m currently completing my BSc (Hons) in Biomedical Science at Anglia Ruskin University. I achieved A*s and As in Science, Maths, and English at GCSE, and an A in A-Level English Literature. Hi! My name is Raphaelle. If you want to make sense of the challenges in chemistry, maths, or biology, I am the right person to ask. Scientifically minded, I will give you the tools and techniques needed to understand and master difficult concepts that may seem obscure to you. I also enjoy expressing my creativity through playing the violin and painting watercolour, and these activities provide me with an outlet for my stress. I’m not the best at sports (I have zero coordination) but I still have fun even when making a fool of myself! As a tutor, I will not only share my knowledge and study techniques with you, but I will also endeavour to make my lessons interesting and engaging. Observing the improvements in my tutee's performance is the most rewarding part of tutoring. I firmly believe that excelling in a subject is a question of hard work, as well as confidence and self-belief; and I hope to inspire these qualities in you. I am 20 and I am currently a third year medical student at Newcastle University. I'm originally from France, but I grew up in Dubai, where I studied under the British curriculum. Although chemistry and biology were my two favourite subjects at school, I also enjoyed the challenge of maths and physics, where I achieved A* in my A-levels, and 9s in my GCSEs. I passed my ABRSM level 8 in the violin with a Merit and I have played the instrument for 10 years. I am fluent in French and English, and conversational in Spanish (CEFR level B2).

One of my favourite things to do is helping people learn. And not just forcefully learning and memorising, but learning in a way they understand. Learning in a way easiest and least challenging for them as an individual. I love teaching Maths because I think it’s amazing how there are so many different ways to get to the correct answer. So even if you might not understand how one way works, that’s absolutely okay because that’s not the only way to the answer. Whichever way works for you in understanding how to get to the answer, is the way we’ll figure out and work with together. And once we do it together, you’ll have the confidence and knowledge to do it independently. That being said, I also love Biology and Chemistry because science is also great. And believe it or not, but the answers are usually easier to find than you’d think. Whether you're wanting to excel and get the top grade, or wanting to pass a subject you're not really in love with, I think everyone has the potential to achieve what they want and continue to advance forward in life. Including you. Whether you believe it or not, you have the potential and ability to succeed. Even if you might need a little help or nudge in seeing that ability, that’s absolutely fine – and I would love to be that person to help give you that encouragement in seeing your potential. We've got this. You’ve got this!

My name is Rebecca and I am from South Wales, United Kingdom. I have experienced living in different places around the UK and I lived in London for several years, which was an amazing experience to meet people from international countries and learn many things about their culture and interests too. I enjoy cooking at home, as formally I have trained on the job as a professional chef, mainly in seafood/fish restaurants and Japanese cuisine. Also, I like going for a walk down the coastline and taking in the scenic views, photography and sometimes video gaming when the time arises. For over a year, I have been teaching English online as a second language to Taiwanese and Chinese students, both juniors and adults. Which became an interest whilst I was teaching sushi classes in London. I decided to advance onto teaching specifically English and conversational topics chosen by students, to further improve their overall English language. From education I gained a TEFL level 5 teaching qualification and a BSc (Hons) in Food and Consumer Management from Birmingham University. Which focused on live industry projects within the FMCG sector, nutrition and the business elements within the food industry. I enjoy cooking at home, particularly Japanese cuisine and seafood dishes that I learnt previously as a professional chef.
