Lower Level: Maths, Biology, Chemistry GCSE: Biology, Chemistry A-Level (IB): Biology, Chemistry Exam Board Experience: AQA, OCR, EDEXCEL Languages: Italian (fluent), English (fluent), French (Basic) SEND experience: During my time in sixth-form, I took the opportunity to tutor students struggling with learning difficulties. Here, I developed key skills which proved extremely useful for their progress e.g., altering my communication to their level of understanding while giving relatable and fun examples, ensuring that the students are actively engaged by asking continuous questions to assess their understanding, and each new lesson I conducted with each student was started with a quick recap of the previous lesson. I noticed that these small steps proved extremely useful in the long run for the child's academic progress. Preferred age group: GCSE (However I can also teach A-level and Primary School children) A bit about myself: I am charismatic and enthusiastic Barts and the London School of Medicine student, with a willingness to learn and grow in any field despite the challenges that may be presented. I consider myself well-rounded, excelling in both academics as well as sport e.g., Football (My favourite!) and have passion for social interaction. Through exposure to tough situations as well as reading books on the topics I have honed my emotional intelligence and communication skills which I have since applied to provide help in various avenues such as education. I've had leadership roles such as Headboy of the school and thus have developed strong rapports with students who look at me as a role-model as well as their parents, especially during information evenings where I had conversations on how "parents could best support their children". As a fluent English and Italian speaker, I've acted as a bridge and advocate for foreign students to make them feel integrated in the community. This has also proved useful when teaching students who's first language isn't English as my fluency in another language allowed my to better understand the students I've worked with. I am a published author who is passionate about writing short stories as means of expressing issues that many children are faced with. One such issue is bullying and I have published a book titled Scars the Bullies and The Bullied which aims to inspire readers to take action against bullying. I will work alongside my students, supporting them along each step of the way so that in the end, they can excel; not solely academically but also in life.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) about chemistry

Chemistry tutoring: geared towards you and your individual learning goals

Chemistry lessons cause problems for many students. This is not surprising. Chemistry is a complex subject and due to an intense curriculum, many teachers do not always have time to answer the students' questions in the necessary depth.

It’s often the case that a large number of students can't keep up. Due to the complexity of the subject, parents are usually unable to help either.

This leads to frustrated students who associate chemistry with worry, anger and stress. But this doesn't need to be the case.

Chemistry can be fun! Our chemistry tutors are happy to help your child with their difficulties in chemistry class. It doesn't matter whether they’re at a grammar school, secondary school or a lower secondary school. We have the right tutor for everyone.

The advantages of studying chemistry

Big goggles, white lab coats and experiments may be the things that come to mind when you think of chemistry. And while these things definitely are a part of chemistry, that's not all.

Chemistry is constantly happening all around us in everyday life. The whole earth and its environment is made up of chemical reactions and processes that go on endlessly.

The better you understand chemistry, the better you can understand everyday processes like: What happens when you cook? How does rust form? How do storms and thunderstorms develop? How can natural phenomena be explained?

Chemists observe and research the constantly occurring processes and material transformations in nature and try to draw insights from them that lead to new knowledge and technologies.

Chemistry can also open doors to many careers for students. Chemistry can be divided into many different fields. Depending on the specialisation, there are many different job prospects available as a chemistry graduate. Here are some examples:

  • Chemist in the civil service:

  • Food chemist

  • Biochemists in clinics

  • Analytical chemists in clinics

  • Testing of emission devices

  • Environmental protection

  • Cooperation with police and fire brigade

  • Chemists in research:

  • Chemistry teachers

  • Academic career at universities

  • Working in research institutes

  • Chemists in industry & companies:

  • Work in the laboratory

  • Work in companies in areas such as production and marketing

  • Process engineering

  • Public relations

  • Environmental protection

  • Other:

  • Automotive industry

  • Cosmetics industry

  • Pharmaceutical industry

  • Raw material production

  • Building materials industry

  • Food industry

  • Chemistry tutoring for students

Students who are interested in chemistry or are confronted with this science in their course of studies should consider whether they need extra tuition. Many students are hesitant about working with a tutor but it is often the most promising way for them to improve their own performance standards. Tutoring from professionals is definitely worthwhile. Therefore, contact us if you need help. We are more than happy to work together with our students to help them improve their grades.

What topics can be covered in online chemistry classes with a qualified tutor?

Chemistry lessons usually start in primary school with more general science. Then in secondary school students study more specific chemistry topics geared towards the exams:

  • States of matter

  • The periodic table of the elements

  • Simple chemistry experiments

  • Organic and inorganic chemistry

  • Acids and bases

  • Atoms, molecules and compounds

  • Reaction equations

  • Simple chemical reactions

  • Chemical symbols

  • Solubility of substances

  • Separation processes

  • Gases, noble gases

  • Metals & semimetals

No matter what subject in chemistry your child is studying, whatever level they are and what they are studying, we will find the right chemistry tutor for them.

This is how practical chemistry tutoring works at GoStudent

Do you want your child to get started with a chemistry tutor to improve their grades? Then you can call one of our experts at GoStudent today.
