Hi, I'm Mona! A little about me; I tutor Primary and GCSE-level students in English. Right now, I'm more focused on GCSE students. I have in-depth knowledge in English literature from Shakespearean plays like Macbeth to War and Conflict Poems, and more. I'm fluent in English, write a lot, and I absolutely love creative writing so that comes in handy when guiding students through revision for the English Language Paper. I'm also familiar with exam boards such as AQA, Edexcel, and Eduqas. What I love most about my tutoring sessions is that from the onset, my students and I try to make learning not feel like a chore. We strive to not only achieve the educational goals we set out but we make it so that the main objective is to learn and understand, not just pass a test. I'm open-minded and firmly believe there is no such thing as a person who can't be taught. Each student is different from the next and all anyone really needs is the right kind of guidance. I am currently in University for my Bachelor's but I graduated from the equivalent of UK A-Levels with honours. My curriculum was English, Arts, and Humanities-centered so I had subjects such as Media and Information Literacy, Research Writing, Creative Fiction and Non-Fiction, Contemporary Art, etc. I used to write for a travel blog and was the assistant to the managerial editor of a newspaper company so I proofread, edited, and wrote articles a lot.

Teaching approach: My teaching approach involves planning and creating detailed lessons materials, synthesizing textbook material into bitesize information for young students to teach them in an enjoyable and interactive environment. Visual aids, practice questions and interactive activities (particularly for young students) are incorporated into each lesson and post-lesson feedback is provided to the parent/student, including all PowerPoint slides and other lesson materials used during the lesson and any homework if preferred. Additionally, academic progress is monitored via an initial key topic list (detailed on the first slide of the PowerPoint slides) which is updated after each lesson, including progress on individual focus areas of improvement for the student. Moreover, if the parent/student prefers, comprehensive reports of academic progress, topics covered and key areas of strength and improvement can be sent every two months. I am a 22 year old who puts her heart and soul into her passion, which is teaching. I absolutely love people, interacting and getting to know people. I love being creative, whether it be planning my next lesson for a class or molding something with clay, I am always busy! I am a good balance between introverted and extroverted because I do treasure my alone time for some self care masks and watching a comfort movie. I love reading and spending time with friends and family. I always believe in staying kind because you never know what someone else is going through at home. I love sushi as well! It has most probably always been my favourite food! I am a fourth year student studying Foundation Phase education at Stellenbosch University. I have completed a 360 hour TEFL course, exemplifying my love for the English language. As a specialized Foundation Phase educator, I firmly believe that the knowledge I have gathered will help build strong foundations for my students in their journey to English success. I have a good practical experience and am able to adapt different teaching styles to best suit a students needs. Learning concretely and using movement while learning, although it will be through a screen, makes learning more engaging and a fun way to gain knowledge!

Hi, I’m Lucas! I tutor GCSE Maths, Spanish, English Language & Literature, as well as A-Level English Language. I have four years experience in tutoring, mentoring, and supporting students with university admissions also. I love helping students build confidence, think critically, and connect big ideas to practical problem-solving. Outside of teaching, in my free time I love cold water swimming, running in run clubs, and going to the cinema. I graduated from UCL with First Class Honours in Arts & Sciences, specialising in environmental economics and policy. I achieved 4 A*s at A Level (English Language, Maths, Chemistry, and Photography) and top GCSE results with seven 9s and four 8s. I also learned Spanish fluently during my time at university, which I now love teaching alongside Maths and English.
