Hello there! Hope you are well. My name is Joshua Hailey and my pronouns are he/him. I have been an online tutor for over three years, and I hope this 'About Me' section gives you an insight into who I am and my teaching style. Before I go into more detail about who I am, I would urge you to read the testimonials, (at the bottom of this section), from some of my current parents whose children I am teaching! I am an English Literature BA (Hons) graduate who studied at the University of Portsmouth. In September 2024 I am undertaking a Masters in Modern and Contemporary Literature from the University of Leicester. With over three years tutoring experience, a strong work ethic and excellent time management skills, I have challenged and supported students across all educational stages, including primary school pupils right up to A Level students! I want your child to succeed and I truly believe they can do this! My lessons are varied, fun, but get the work done! Education is not 'one size fits all', and online tutoring is the perfect example of this. My sessions will see your child grow from strength to strength, as they learn new concepts and methods of success in their respective subject. You will not find me simply reading off a screen for the entire lesson, but you can expect interactivity to drive every single lesson that I will (hopefully) have with your child! In addition to English tuition, I also offer Primary Maths, 11+ and History. I have experience supporting students in all these subjects, and have completed them to a GCSE/A Level standard (for more information on this, please see my 'Academic Background' section). In summary, I promise to adopt a customised learning plan and positive ethos for your child across all sessions. As the parent, you deserve to feel included in your child's progress. I will endeavour to regularly update you through messages, comprehensive written reports and periodic phone calls should you want them! Hi, I’m Maite! I’m a native German speaker and teach German at all levels — Primary, GCSE, and A-Level. Besides German and English, I also speak French and Spanish. I hold a BA in Cultural Studies with a minor in Educational Science, which deepened my understanding of cross-cultural learning, communication, and how to make complex ideas accessible. During my time at university, I spent over three years tutoring children of different ages, working in a programme led by the German federal government to support children from migrant and refugee backgrounds in their school learning. I am now excited to work with adults as well. When I think back to my own school years, the teachers who inspired me most were those whose honest passion made even my least favourite subjects enjoyable. That’s the atmosphere I aim to create in my lessons: engaging, light, and enjoyable. Outside tutoring, I teach meditation and mindfulness and support a charity creatively, which helps me bring patience, flexibility, and creativity into my teaching. I tailor lessons to each student — whether you need grammar support, speaking practice, exam preparation, or a personalised lesson to build confidence at your own pace, or simply want to learn German out of interest and enjoyment. I hold a BA in Cultural Studies and Educational Science, which I completed at Leuphana University in Lüneburg, Germany. I specialised in cultural theory and visual culture and spent an Erasmus semester at Université Bordeaux Montaigne in France. In addition, I hold a Yoga Alliance–approved 200-hour Yoga Teacher Certificate, complemented by an additional 50 hours of training in meditation.

My name is Liezle. I am currently pursuing a career in science as a trainee laboratory assistant within the biochemistry and chemistry fields. Additionally, I’ve run my own business, taught middle school in Asia, and for a few years exercised my creative muscle as a fashion assistant. Anything outdoor involving wine and food with a friend, or a lazy day at the ocean or hanging around in a shopping mall is a good day. I truly love science. I am passionate about learning new things and applying my knowledge to real-world problems. I am always eager to collaborate with others and contribute to the advancement of scientific research, testing and analytical thinking! I am a 3rd year student at the University of South Africa; I am pursuing a Bachelor of Science with a focus on biochemistry and chemistry. I have also gained valuable experience as a general science educator for a few years, where I taught students within intermediate phase, in the chemistry, physics and biology disciplines. I am also embarking on a one-year laboratory assistant trainee program.
