About me

Hello, my name is Ali, and I’m a university academic based in the UK. I have over 19 years of experience teaching mathematics and physics, and I enjoy helping students turn difficult ideas into something clear and manageable. For me, teaching is about building confidence as well as knowledge. I find it particularly rewarding when a student who once struggled with a topic begins to understand it and enjoys solving problems independently. Beyond teaching, my interests include engineering, scientific research and how mathematics and physics explain the world around us. My educational background combines a bachelor’s degree from Tehran Polytechnic with a PhD in Tribology from the University of Leeds, completed in 2016. Tribology is the study of friction, wear and lubrication, drawing on mathe...

I help KS3 and GCSE students build real confidence in Spanish — not just memorise vocabulary for the next test, but actually understand and enjoy the language. For the past seven years I've guided teenagers through reading, writing, speaking and listening, with lessons built around exactly what they're examined on (AQA specification). Before tutoring, I worked as a journalist — and it shaped how I teach: I break grammar down the way I'd break down a complex story, clearly and without jargon, always checking it's landed before moving on. My students consistently see their grades and their confidence grow together, because in my experience the two go hand in hand. 🎓 Certified ELE (Spanish as a Foreign Language) Tutor ✍️ Experienced editor for blogs, magazines and social media — which is exactly why my students' written Spanish improves fast 🏫 Former Assistant Professor, with solid classroom and academic experience 🌱 I specialise in building self-confidence, especially with students who feel anxious about exams or believe they're "just not good at languages"

Hi! I am a 2nd Year Biomedical Science student who is looking to help students in secondary school. I have been tutoring for 4 months and have helped students gain confidence leading to amazing outcomes. As someone who went from a Grade 2 to a Grade 8 in Chemistry I personally understand what it feels like to struggle and have mastered the right revision techniques and discipline to work hard needed to improve quickly. I attended DeLisle Catholic College from Year 7 until Year 10 which is when my family moved to London and I started going to Loxford School of Science and Technology from Year 11. Most of my subjects exam boards changed meaning I had to teach myself the Year 10 content as well as the Year 11 content in one year. Despite this I was able to achieve an 8 in Physics, 8 in Chemistry, 7 in Biology, 7 in Maths, 7 in French, 7 in RE, 7 in English Language, 6 in English Literature and 6 in Media Studies. I stayed at Loxford for sixth form as well where I studied A Level Chemistry, Biology and RE where I got C,C,D. I have just finished my first year at LSBU studying Biomedical Science in which I achieved a first in every module. I have been tutoring for 4 months in person and have received only positive reviews. I have also been reading with students at a Primary School for 6 months to help them prepare for SATS.
