Hi!! My name is Eimear, I’m a 20 year old girl currently in my final year studying a BA in Philosophy, politics and economics at the University of Leeds. I’ve always been a curious individual, who enjoys studying and sharing knowledge with others. During my time at sixth form, I helped a maths GCSE class in preparation for their exams. I really enjoyed this experience and it has urged me to continue to continue with tutoring. I would love to help more people to excel in education and be really proud of their achievements - no matter how big or small! I went to St Nicholas Catholic High School where I got 10 GCSEs grade 9-7 and I stayed on at Sixth Form where I achieved A*,A,A in English Literature, Maths and Religious Studies ALevels. Alongside my ALevels, I also completed an Extended Project Qualification that was awarded an A* as well. I now study a BA in PPE at University of Leeds, where I am aiming to achieve a first class. When I was in sixth form, I helped a GCSE maths class in preparation for their exams, where I conducted 1-1 sessions with various students to go over past papers and establish areas of concern. Beyond that, my degree has allowed me to continue to develop both my numerical skills as well as my written skills, so I think I have a good basis for helping students with both English and Maths (my two favourite subjects). I have work experience as a waitress and cleaner, which have helped me to communicate clearer and work well with a team. Additionally, I am Secretary of Leeds University PPE society, a task which has really developed my team building skills, my ability to organise my time and respond accordingly to comments.

I help students turn ‘I can’t do it’ into ‘I actually enjoy this!’ — by building confidence through patience, positivity, and creative teaching. I specialise in Maths and 11+ preparation, supporting students of all abilities to feel calm, capable, and motivated. My background as a learning support assistant taught me how to break complex ideas into clear, manageable steps — especially for learners who struggle with confidence or anxiety around maths. I use interactive methods, games, and real-life examples to keep lessons fun and memorable. Above all, I believe progress starts with encouragement, and I aim to create lessons where students feel supported, proud of their effort, and inspired to keep improving. I studied Psychology at university, where I developed a strong understanding of how students learn and how confidence impacts performance. My studies helped me recognise that progress isn’t just about intelligence — it’s about mindset and approach. Before that, I achieved three A-Levels and gained hands-on experience working in schools as a learning support assistant, supporting students across maths, English, and general study skills. I’m now planning to continue my studies in Marketing and Business Management, combining my interest in psychology and communication with a passion for helping others grow and reach their potential. This mix of academic study and practical classroom experience has shaped my calm, supportive teaching style, helping me identify learning gaps quickly and adapt lessons to each student’s needs.

Welcome to my profile. I teach 11+, GCSE Science (physics, chemistry, and biology), and Mathematics. I use notes and revision resources that have been carefully tailored to each student's specific needs. With their exam board content, revision/practice questions, and particularly repeated past papers, I have been able to instill confidence, critical thinking, and a genuine understanding of the subject in all of my students while ensuring they enjoy the process. I look forward to beginning this journey with you. I have over 4 years (1000+ hours) of experience teaching these subjects: GCSE Science (Biology, Chemistry, Physics), Mathematics, and 11+. I hold a Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) in Mechanical Engineering and an international teaching certificate (TESOL). I bring both academic expertise and practical teaching experience to my lessons. Having achieved top grades (A**) in GCSE Mathematics, Physics, and Biology, I understand the challenges students face and tailor my teaching to help them succeed. Currently I am a teacher of Mathematics for secondary education, and I am also teaching adults as part of their CPD. When I am teaching, I use creative and critical thinking techniques to help my students to acquire in-depth understanding of fundamental concepts of mathematics. Part of my teaching consists of games, quizzes and other creative and fun activities that aim to make teaching and learning easier and more enjoyable. It is also important for me to help my students to learn how to solve word problems, which is a skill that students find hard to acquire. I enjoy walking, travelling, reading, sports and music. Lately I became fascinated with Space exploration and the possibilities that it creates for the development of new technology and how it helps improve living conditions on Earth. I am also interested in Artificial Intelligence and machine learning and how these are based on mathematical thought. I have a degree in Pure Mathematics from the Aristotle University of Greece, an MA in Mathematics Education from Leeds University in the UK and a PGCE in Mathematics from the UK. I have a Qualified Teacher Status to work in UK schools and I have 22 years of work experience in the UK, Greece and Cyprus.
