Hi! My name is Amy and I’m currently studying Maths and Philosophy at the University of Leeds. I am a Maths tutor aiming to help students between KS2 and GCSE level to enjoy and understand Maths. Beyond studying, I have a passion for dancing and love to perform on stage. When I am not dancing, I also love to solve puzzles and riddles. Initially, I attended All Saints Primary School. Then, I went to Greenbank High School and received 11 GCSEs with grades ranging from 7-9. I took a mix of GCSE subjects from Dance and Drama to History and Further Maths. After High School, I attended Runshaw College. I completed A-levels in Maths, Psychology and English Literature and earned grades AAC. I also completed an AS-level in Further Maths and earned a grade C. I am currently completing a BSc Maths and Philosophy honours degree programme at the University of Leeds. I have completed my second year and will hopefully be graduating in the summer of 2026.

I'm Ben and have an MSci and BA in Natural Sciences from the University of Cambridge, where I specialised in Chemistry. I have always loved learning about the sciences as they are so applicable to the world around us. I believe that every student should have positive learning experiences in the sciences. I have over two years' experience in tutoring A-Level/GCSE Maths and Science. Furthermore, I have achieved an A* grade in every A-Level subject and a grade 9 in every GCSE subject that I offer. I have invaluable knowledge of exam board specifications, how to best prepare for upcoming examinations, and how to secure those top grades. I am friendly and patient in my approach and want to help each student reach their full potential, regardless of their academic background or the level they are currently working at. I find it rewarding to help my students achieve their academic goals and see them progress to their next steps. I am very flexible in my tutoring style as I recognise every student takes a different approach to learning. I put an emphasis on working towards a goal for the student and adapt my teaching methods and resources to each individual. I understand the importance of constructive feedback as a tool for improvement and as a way of marking student progress. I’m currently a medical student and I really like passing my knowledge to young people and helping them achieve the goals that they want. I aspire to create a safe, friendly environment for students, where they can ask me for help whenever. With a deep passion for education, I strive to instil not only knowledge but also critical thinking skills and confidence in my students. I attended Southend High School for Girls and completed my GCSEs there. For A levels,I moved to Southend High School for Boys. Currently i am a medical student at the University of Nottingham. I have about a year of tutoring experience from beforehand, and i have worked at ExploreLearning for a few months.

I've been a tutor four years now, helping dozens of students. I'll work with you in conversation, which'll brings us intellectually close to each other. This allows empathy to guide the learning process. - Subjects I teach: - Lower level: Writing, History, Physical Ed. - GCSE: Writing, Computer Science, Physical Ed. - AS-level: Writing, Math, Biology and Physics. - A-Level: Biology. - Languages: Spanish (native speaker) and English as a second language. One of the challenges I often face is answering an insightful question. If I'm not able to do it independently, I focus on relating to you through a simpler concept we are both familiar with. By breaking this concept down into smaller pieces and unveiling our own understanding of it, we enlighten ourselves. The thing I enjoy most about teaching is learning about you. I help with a tough concept or methodology by relating my presentation to how you reckon already known matters. This process will familiarize us with your subject's topics. This is the reason why we'll mostly avoid memorizing stuff. - Do you find lectures boring? If so, you'll find my lessons a perfect fit! Our lessons won't be old-school. Whether you're cutting your teeth with tuition or not, you'll be in conversation with me. As your tutor, I'll share thoughts back and forth and build our understanding of your subject's concepts and methods. - Do you find yourself in stupor at school? From our very first class, I'll lead you to explore and become your own coach, so that you can see results after the first two weeks. We don't need to learn by heart most of the things required to pass with flying colors. As your mentor, I pursue with fervor the breaking down of concepts and getting to the bottom of them. Once we achieve this, you won't have to revise said concepts ever again. - What if you find exams particularly tough? Isn't it annoying when you know the material but still can't get those marks? I offer exam preparation and methods to get those precious marks. We'll read the questions together and work on writing expression. I took first-year University courses in Chemistry and Engineering. These included subjects like Physics, Biology, Statistics, Algebra, Calculus, etc. Lastly, I'm a self-taught personal trainer. Throughout this particular academic endeavour, I studied biomechanics and anatomy, with a solid knowledge of their application to weightlifting.
