Hi! I’m Akhshaya, and my passion for teaching has grown since secondary school. I’ve taught at two tutoring centres, where I gained experience supporting students with a wide range of abilities and learning styles. I’m passionate about making tricky concepts feel simple and helping students build confidence step by step. I am a second‑year Biomedical Engineering student at King’s College London, where I study modules such as Medical Physics, Clinical Engineering, and Professional Issues in Biomedical Engineering. My academic background combines strong analytical skills with a passion for STEM education. I completed my A‑Levels in Maths, Physics, and Biology at Beal High School and I have experience applying these subjects through both university coursework and tutoring. Additionally, I have completed my diploma in Carnatic Music.

I’m a second-year Biomedical Science student at St George’s, University of London, tutoring Maths and Science (Biology, Physics and Chemistry) for KS3 and GCSE students. I focus on simplifying difficult topics, building confidence, and helping students achieve their academic goals. I am a dedicated student of Mathematics and Actuarial Science with a strong passion for problem-solving and analytical thinking. I enjoy breaking down complex concepts into simple, understandable steps—an approach I bring into my tutoring sessions. Outside of academics, I have a keen interest in sports including football, badminton, snooker, and golf. I believe that the discipline and strategic thinking gained from sports complement my academic pursuits and enhance my ability to connect with students from various backgrounds. I'm enthusiastic about helping learners build confidence and achieve their goals in a supportive and engaging environment. I am currently studying Mathematics and Actuarial Science at the University of Southampton, where I am continuing to deepen my understanding of mathematical theory, statistical analysis, and their real-world applications. This degree is further strengthening my analytical and problem-solving skills, which I bring into my tutoring sessions. Before university, I completed my A Levels at St Dominic’s Sixth Form College, achieving an A in both Mathematics and Chemistry—subjects I now tutor. My success in these subjects has given me the confidence and insight to support students in mastering challenging concepts and developing effective exam strategies. I completed my GCSEs at Pinner High School, earning 11 GCSEs at grades 9 to 7, including top marks in Maths and the Sciences. This academic foundation has given me a strong understanding of the UK curriculum and the expectations of exam boards. Having recently been through the school and sixth form system myself, I am well placed to relate to students and provide guidance that is both up-to-date and practical. I aim to create a calm, supportive, and engaging learning environment where students feel encouraged to ask questions, tackle their weaknesses, and build confidence in their abilities.

I was born in Cologne, Germany. I live now in Cornwall in the UK. I also lived 10 years in Amsterdam where I studied Fine Art. I hold a PGCE teaching qualification and a Level 3 certificate in English and Math. I am learning Swedish on my Duolingo app as I really enjoy learning new languages:) In my free time I enjoy making furniture pieces out of various woods. I like sports as well, especially racket sports like table tennis and tennis. I hold a PGCE qualification from Cornwall College Camborne. I also hold a Level 3 certificate in English and Math. I have a BA Hons on Fine Arts, a Level 2 Media Technician certificate and I did my A-Levels in German, Math, Biology and Art. I also hold a Level 2 certificate in Furniture Making.
