My name is Giada, an Italian expatriate in the UK for 7 years. I hold a degree in Forensic Science. My passion for learning fuels a desire to share knowledge, embodying a blend of cultural richness and scientific curiosity. I embrace challenges with a positive mindset, making every experience an opportunity for growth. I love adopting different teaching styles according to the students and their specific needs. I teach various subjecs such as Biology, Chemistry and Italian to students from the ages of 10 to 25+. Beyond tutoring, I enjoy spending my time practising yoga, reading books and volunteering. I have struggled with anxiety and have been always a bit of a perfectionist, therefore I have personal experience with how it feels to want to achieve the best one can, and I try to give some help and advice to students from this point of view as well. I have helped students with ADHD and dyslexia achieve great results in their university exams and coursework, therefore I have an awareness of how these conditions affect each individual differently and how to try and tweak my teaching style accordingly. I am a graduate of Abertay University, where I earned a Bachelor of Science in Forensic Sciences in 2021, achieving a 1st class degree. Throughout my four-year course, I demonstrated a strong commitment to academic excellence and was recognised with prizes for outstanding achievements in both biology and chemistry-related subjects. My Biology knowledge is strong across all exam boards and I have a particular interest in Genetics and Molecular Biology. During my time at Abertay University, I served as the Class Representative for two consecutive years, actively contributing to the academic community and fostering communication between students and faculty. This experience honed my leadership and organizational skills. Engaging in the Research Volunteer Scheme (of a chemistry-based project) provided me with invaluable practical experience in applying the research process. This training enhanced my understanding of the scientific method and its application in real-world scenarios. As an Online Peer Mentor, I supported new students on their academic journey, demonstrating my dedication to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment. In my dissertation, I delved into the intricate realm of mRNA and miRNA, showcasing my in-depth knowledge of these molecules alongside DNA in both general biology and forensic biology. This research experience not only expanded my understanding of molecular biology but also sharpened my analytical and investigative skills. Overall, my academic journey at Abertay University has equipped me with a solid foundation in forensic sciences, complemented by hands-on research experience and a commitment to academic and peer support. I am eager to apply this wealth of knowledge and skills in teaching younger generations. I have been working in industry ever since. I possess academic as well as professional application of biology and chemistry knowledge. I am Italian, therefore I can offer Italian lessons to English speaking students. My experience in tutoring has been mostly with my peers (ages 18-22), however, I have also gained experience with children from ages of 8 to 17.

Hi, I'm Leigh, and I have a strong background in Civil Engineering. I'm deeply passionate about this field because it beautifully combines creativity, problem-solving, and real-world applications to shape the world around us. But my love for learning doesn't stop there—I have a profound passion for teaching as well. I find immense joy in sharing knowledge, inspiring others, and helping them achieve their goals. Whether I'm explaining technical concepts or mentoring aspiring learners, teaching allows me to connect with people and make a positive impact in their lives. For me, learning should never feel like a chore. It's a journey of discovery, growth, and excitement. When learning is fun and engaging, it becomes more effective and meaningful. It's not just about absorbing information; it's about sparking curiosity, encouraging creativity, and building connections between what we learn and how we live. I hold a degree in Civil Engineering, and I am currently pursuing a course in Education. Transitioning into education has been a deliberate and meaningful decision for me. I am passionate about teaching and inspiring others, and I aim to combine my technical expertise with my love for teaching to make a significant impact on the lives of learners.

My name is Imad and I am currently a first year medicine student at the University of Liverpool, having attended a grammar school prior. Tutoring has always been a passion of mine, and I have much experience tutoring in the last five years offering both a private service as well as tutoring friends and family through 11+, GCSE and A-level exams. In these five years, I have managed to perfect my teaching style to get the most out of my students. My teaching style is heavily interactive, placing emphasis on students finding answers on their own with my guidance for better understanding. My proven track record demonstrates my ability to effectively convey complex concepts in a manner that is easily understandable and relatable to students. I am completely aware that not all students are the same and everyone has their own preference when learning, which is why I am committed to tailoring my approach to meet the unique needs and learning styles of each individual student. I like to think of myself as a tutor that students can easily relate to, making students more interested in paying attention during the lesson and trying to get the most of it without feeling bored or lost. I prioritise building strong rapport and trust with my students, creating a supportive learning environment where they feel comfortable expressing their challenges and asking questions. I understand the importance of not just academic support, but also emotional support, particularly during stressful periods such as exams or major assignments. As a tutor, I am not just a teacher, but also a mentor and a cheerleader, providing encouragement, guidance, and constructive feedback every step of the way, using personal experience and what had worked on myself in the past to help my students in any way possible. By choosing me as their tutor, students can expect not only academic improvement but also a mentor who is passionate about their success and invested in helping them reach their full potential, as well as reaching a deeper understanding and appreciation for the subject matter. I am currently a first year medicine student at the University of Liverpool. In 2015, I took the 11+ exam, securing a place at all 5 grammar schools that I applied to. Eventually, I went on to attend King Edward VI Grammar School (KEGS), a school consistently ranked in the top 10 schools in the UK. At GCSE level, I gained five grade 9's, four grade 8's and three grade 7's. This includes a grade 9 in all subjects that I tutor. At A-level, I gained A*, A*, A, B in Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology and EPQ.
