Hello! I'm Ashleigh, an experienced English tutor with nearly a decade of teaching experience. I'm here to help you navigate the complexities of language and literature. Whether we're analysing Shakespeare or refining your creative writing, my aim is to make learning both enriching and enjoyable. Originally from Manchester, I now live in Scotland with my cat, Gus. I’ve always loved literature and enjoy exploring different perspectives through a wide range of genres, from dystopian fiction to poetry. I’m especially drawn to writing poetry that captures people, landscapes, and the natural beauty of Scotland. I also have a keen interest in TV and film, which often inspires the way I think about storytelling and brings a bit of imagination into my lessons. Alongside tutoring, I’m currently completing a PhD in Creative Writing at the University of Strathclyde, where I’m developing a novel while researching how storytelling shapes the way we understand relationships and human experiences. I’m also working on a collection of short stories that explore human connections, while continuing to write poetry. I also provide detailed feedback on essays and written assignments, including proofreading, improving structure and clarity, refining arguments, and helping students develop stronger academic writing while maintaining their own voice. I teach students across a wide range of ages, from 6 to 18, and can support you with all aspects of English. Because I work with different age groups and exam boards, I don’t have every text committed to memory—but if you let me know what you’re studying in advance, I’ll make sure I’m fully up to date and ready to help you get the most out of our lessons. My academic journey began at the University of Stirling, where I completed a BA (Hons) in English Studies and later an MLitt in Creative Writing, graduating with distinction. Alongside tutoring, I’m also a published short story writer and poet, a freelance editor, and currently completing a Level 5 TEFL qualification. My teaching style is professional but relaxed, with a focus on building confidence, encouraging independent thinking, and helping students develop the skills they need to succeed. Every lesson is tailored to the student’s goals, combining discussion, guided practice, and clear feedback so you can see your progress week by week. A medical student with a passion for passing on my knowledge and study techniques to fellow students. In my spare time I love to read, travel and I am always seeking ways to improve on my knowledge. I focus on simple, digestible ways to understand difficult topics & subjects, to help students achieve the best possible grades. 5th year medical student that knows first hand what it takes to find the right way to study for each individual subject. I am passionate about Chemistry, with a PhD in the subject and over five years of tutoring experience. My tutoring style is to ensure a solid foundation in the core concepts, then practicing the skills with exam questions. I cover all exam boards (AQA, OCR, Edexcel etc) and all topics in Chemistry at GCSE and A level. My highest level of education is a PhD in Chemistry from Durham University. I also obtained an MChem with First Class Honours from Durham University. My A level subjects were Chemistry, Maths, Biology and French (all A grades), as well as 11 A* grades at GCSE.

I am a Masters degree from Leeds Conservatoire and a BA from The University of Birmingham. I have 5 years of experience tutoring, offering tutoring in English Literature, Language and Drama from KS3 to A Level. I am a motived and hardworking person with a love for teaching and helping students to reach their full potential. I received a MA with Merit in Musical Theatre Company from Leeds Conservatoire and I have a 2:1 in BA Drama and Theatre Arts from the University of Birmingham. Before studying at university I attended Wycombe High School for 6th Form achieve AAB in English, History and Drama. As well as a B in AS Level 3 Core Maths. I attended Claires Court school for my KS3 and GCSE education. Achieving 1 8, 3 7s, 4 6s and 2 5s.
