Bassey is a great tutor. With his lessons, I was able to get a 7/6 in my Combined Science GCSE. His lessons are fun and interactive, and I have learnt many things with his teaching style.

I believe that I'm a very positive person that has an enthusiastic perspective on life. I get a great sense of achievement from seeing my students develop and grow as individuals. If I can have some sort of positive impact on their life, I feel fulfilled and that I am doing my job well. As a medical student with over six years of tutoring experience and more than 5000 online sessions, I specialize in teaching the Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, English Literature and Language, Computer Science, History, Geography, French. My lessons are dynamic, engaging, and tailored to meet the specific needs of each child, resulting in a high success rate for students passing these exams. I employ an adaptive teaching style that combines elements of dialogic teaching, scaffolding, and personalized instruction. Before each lesson, I meticulously prepare by reviewing the student's progress, assessing their strengths and areas for improvement, and aligning the content with their learning goals. This targeted approach enables me to provide effective instruction and address any gaps in understanding. Utilizing a range of resources such as textbooks, visual aids, online materials, and interactive exercises, I cater to diverse learning styles and maintain a stimulating learning experience. During our sessions, I prioritize active engagement, encouraging students to ask questions, seek clarification, and actively participate in discussions. By fostering a supportive environment, I aim to nurture critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and a deeper conceptual understanding. This approach, combined with my specialization in the Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, English Literature and Language, Computer Science, History, Geography, French, has resulted in a high success rate for students achieving their desired grade. Between lessons, I emphasize independent learning and practice, providing supplementary materials, recommending relevant resources, and suggesting exercises to consolidate knowledge. By doing so, they not only reinforce their understanding but also develop self-discipline and resilience, which contribute to their success in the targeted exams. In summary, my specialized tutoring in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, English Literature and Language, Computer Science, History, Geography, French, combined with an adaptive teaching style, active engagement, personalized instruction, and a focus on critical thinking, ensures a high success rate for students passing these exams. I’m an ESL teacher with eight years of experience, and I genuinely enjoy helping students become more confident in using English. Over the years, I’ve worked with different types of learners, so I’ve learned how to adjust my teaching style depending on what my students need. Outside the classroom, I volunteer in my community, especially working with youth. This is something very important to me because I believe education can really change lives. It also helped me become more patient, understanding, and connected to the real challenges students face. I’m very interested in learning more about education and social issues. I like reading books and doing my own research because I want to improve not just as a teacher, but also as a person. I try to bring these insights into my lessons so they feel more meaningful and relatable. I also love traveling because it helps me experience different cultures and perspectives, which I think is important when teaching language. As a person, I’m goal-oriented and organized, but I also try to stay flexible depending on the situation. I always reflect on my teaching and look for ways to improve. My main goal is to support my students, help them grow, and make learning English something they feel confident and comfortable with. As a Bachelor of Secondary Education major in English, I am passionate about helping students discover the power of language and develop their confidence in expressing themselves. Teaching, for me, is not just about lessons—it’s about inspiring curiosity, encouraging critical thinking, and connecting learning to students’ everyday lives. I love making English engaging by sharing stories, reading books, and exploring creative ways for students to practice communication. Beyond the classroom, I enjoy volunteering in my community to support youth, which has taught me patience, empathy, and the importance of understanding each learner’s needs. I also love traveling, which broadens my perspective and allows me to bring new ideas and cultural insights into my teaching. I am committed to continuous growth as an educator, exploring new strategies and researching ways to make learning meaningful and relevant. My goal is to help students not only succeed academically but also develop confidence, curiosity, and a lifelong love for learning. Teaching English allows me to combine my passion for language, literature, and mentoring into a career that truly fulfills me.

Hi my name is Gabriel. I am a 28 year old 11+ tutor. I love helping students prepare for their 11+ entrance exams. I have a degree in English from Rhodes University. I have a passion for teaching and for helping others grow. I have experience with helping students prepare for the GL Assessment 11+ test as well as others such as the Sutton Boys 11+ test. In 2018 I enrolled in a Bachelor of the Arts at Rhodes University in my home country of South Africa. Rhodes University has the best Humanities Faculty and the best English Department in the country and so it was a natural choice for me as I intended to study English Literature. I completed my triple major Bachelor's in English Literature, History and Philosophy in 2020.
